Nobody seems to want it. It's not like I'm getting low counter-offers or anything, either. Nobody has express any interest at all. I wonder if my server is just lacking in pet collectors.

Just keep trying. It is a very, very exclusive market. Keep listing it on the AH for like 3-5,000g and see what happens. It's not expensive to list. Toss it up in trade chat whenever you run through a city, etc. Just keep with it. If you really get in a bind and your server's economy really does suck and you have to sell it for 2,000g or something, you still made over 500g per hour, not bad ;)

Trust me, you'll get 3k+.. When you put it in trade, tell them about the green glow it gives you =D

Almost. Although, it is a moot point because as a level 80 I have to wait about 60 seconds on respawns after fully clearing the cave. As a level 70, you won't have to wait but you yet you will still kill them very fast. So, in the end, you will kill probably exactly as many as I can at 80.

Yeah, you sold WAAAAAAAAAAAY too cheap. You needed to hold out and get 3k+. It's not a guarantee you'll get it every four hours, you just have to keep at it. My guide does have illustrations and FAR more detailed strategies than my videos here.

Just keep at it. Make sure you're killing everything in the cave, not just the slimes if you are. It's a very rare pet, but totally worth it when you get it to drop (totally worth it, as in an instant Epic Flying mount skill from one item).

Yes, or nearly as fast. Doesn't matter either way, because as feral I end up having to wait about 60 seconds outside the cave before they respawn. So even if you're a little slower as balance, you have some wiggle room.

Keep selling at 3k or higher. Don't pay any attention to people who laugh - they don't know the value of things. Trust me, people are stupid. You are looking for those RARE few people who take pets seriously and will pay 3-5k for the oozeling because they know how hard it is to get. Don't sell cheap.

True. However, the double random number generator is mitigated by the fact that each RNG (random number generator) chance is considerably higher than other pets. You have pets like the Tiny Crimson Hatchling with a single RNG chance of about .01%. The DIsgusting Oozeling, in contrast, has a double RNG of 7%(the bag dropping) by 1.6% (the Oozeling being in the bag). When all is said and done, you have a better chance of getting the Disgusting Oozeling than a Tiny Crimson Hatchling.

Umm, that's not how statistics work. First off, your suggested probability means the disgusting oozeling is roughly a 1 in 78125 chance - that's absurd. After calculating the probabilities from WoWhead of the bag dropping and then also the oozeling dropping from the bag, you come to about a 0.132% chance of the oozeling dropping on any single kill, which is more like a 1 in 750 chance on any given kill.

zoldren: That's the gamble in farming low drop-rate items. You are not guaranteed to loot one in the predicted amount of time, or even double that. If you stick to common items (herbs, ore, meat, etc.) , you mitigate your risk.

Doing this oozeling farm without mining or whelp farming without herbalism sounds like a crazy idea to me.

However, statistics are on your side. If you stick with it until an oozeling drops, then the risk is just as mitigated as going out and farming herbs, ore, meat, etc. Even if it takes you an outlandish 20 hours of farming to get one oozeling, that still works out to 250g/hr JSUT from the oozeling. Add ores, recipes, greens, vendor trash, etc, and you're sitll at 400g+/hour if it takes you TWENTY hours to get one. Get one in 5-10 hours and suddenly you're nearly 1kg/hour.
