I think your guitar is brill Vocally Charlie Simpson has a unique vocal style to follow which is quite deep and dirty. Have you ever tried doing any Nick Drake, Tim Buckley, Donovan or Softcells 'Say Hello Wave Goodbye go well with your vocal style which is much smoother and cleaner than Charlie's. Good stuff post more :)
