I believe this version of this particular 3-D TV will never be practical, for obvious reasons, like COST (BaZillions) and SIZE (It's HUGE) and weight (Weights in at 500kgs). But it's cousin, with a mere price tag of $11,676 EU might just ... Oops, don't think too many regular people in Europe (or any where for that matter) will be able to afford this HUGE, 3-D TV either when it debuts Christmas 2011' . My Bad!

lol 4 meters display and hd 1080 points resolution. I mean it's okay but it would be like 30'' CRT with 720x576 or what's ersolution does it have... It wouldnt be so clear. 4k at least...

Problem is for CG movies is that they would technically have to render every scene 57 times which would increase the render time so much it wouldnt even be worth it and would take years to do. Bigger problem is with real life footage they would require 57 3D cameras!

So i dont see this happening for movies any time soon.

@tronlaser Do not worry. There are things called super computing and parallel computing techniques. Actually "57 times" is not that big number for rendering since rendering videos taken 57 different angle is quite suitable for parallel computing.
