  • subliminal messages.

  • Great Vid.

  • dup die dup doo, hi ha hoe ha, la la la laaaaaaah laaaaah la la, dup die dup doe , dup di dup doo, hi ha hoe ha hi ha hoe,

  • What the name of the music?

  • Great video, good music.

  • there is signs everywhere people new world order is setting up as we speak scanners microchipping scanners camers... time to recieve christ as savior.

  • libbie7777:

there is signs everywhere people new world order is setting up as we speak scanners microchipping scanners camers... time to recieve christ as savior.

In other words, folks: Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you, so don't forget to stock up on a hefty supply of God, just in case! Leave rationality for those "rational" people YOU know the ones I mean!

  • to me the doomsday message was depressing. it took away my hope for the future because they always made it sound like it was going to happen so soon in my lifetime. It took away my motivation to excel and even live. Why should i stick around waiting for someone else to end the world in some horrible fashion when i can end my world with bubbles, champagne, and a razor blade. i got over it though with time. agree or disagree im just sharing my experience

  • Haha, stop being so pretentious: "That's what good art is all about... interpretation!"

That's not what makes good art (if it were, I'd just throw shit on the wall). Also There's no interpretation needed here, it's all pretty obvious. Also, you're stretching it by calling this art...in any case, I find these things interesting, and I wish you could have scanned those tracts in their entirety. Oh, and the fact that CBN uses a song inspired by Nietzsche is hilarious.

  • The use of the word "pretentious" in any critique is, by definition, pretentious. I was being what's called facetious.

It IS art. Imitating life. Imitating Elvis.

  • Interesting

  • Funny how people continue to make the same kinds of comments over and over again, without bothering to read a word of previous comments or the video description boxes!

It's stupid of me to actually think that people might take these things in context, or actually look into something before speaking.

  • OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! THAKN YOU!!!!!!! if been looking for the song that you have in your video for so long....i had NO idea wat it was called, at all cause i heard it one day in school, and my friend and i loved it with the intensness of the 4 chanting thing....whats thissong called?

  • ok wtf do u mean by harry poter?

  • I like Harry, this Bible tract doesn't, treats him as if he's real, and informs all the kiddies that Harry and his pals are all going to burn in Hell forever. Kind of like Ned Flanders. Yay!

  • In addition, Harry is between the Halloween portion of the vid, and the copyright infringement part. Apparently, the Kent Hovind people will report non believers for their copyright violations, but it's OK to do it in the name of spreading the gospel.

  • fuck you, you fucking arsehole.

  • And a shout-out to these video geniuses from Australia, who probably don't know I'm not actually a "religious freak", because they didn't bother to read my profile either. But you can click on over to their profile, and check out their epic masterworks!

  • I don't object to your worldview, just your utterly gauche way of expressing it.

  • As legitimate a response as any! I like your Yayoi Kusama's 'Soul under the moon' video!

I'm pretty abrasive, alright. But then again, are you looking at the act, or the actor? The painter, or the painting?

    Ceci n'est pas une pipe!

  • Hey, when you've finally enlightened the world to the various hypocrisies of religion, consider unleashing your poignant insight, infallible logic and cutting witticism on such other insidious societal scourges as know-it-all blowhards and sanctimonious faux-artists.

  • Hey! That's brilliant!!! I should make a totally self-effacing humor video. Thanks!

  • What are the messages that you inserted into the beginning segments of the video? Several times a message appears for a split second. What was the point in doing this?

  • They're called "subliminals", or as Bush would say: "subliminibles". Subliminal messages were thought to have an effect on the psyche of the viewer or listener, but have since been somewhat debunked. I've been waiting for somebody like you to ask this just to drive that point home. They obviously have no effect on you. Try stopping the video to see it frame by frame.

  • interesting collection you've got. May I ask, what percentage or ratio of the many you've received are "whack" like the ones in the video, compared to the ones that just present the message with dignity?

  • Good point. Approximate ratio? 60/40, "whack" over "sane". As with any religious polemic there will be fair and unfair POVs. It is human nature to be subjective, and I am no exception. There are many tracts that are very gentle and accurate in their message. I am however, still opposed to the teaching of faith to minors without parental consent AND littering, both mindless and mindful. As always, your results may vary. The main point of this video is expressive art.

  • D'range's Law:

Taking the "us" OR "them" out of the "us and them" equation says more about us than it does about them.

    (And any possible permutation thereof)

    —G.D'R

  • Recently, on kippmcleodtheheretic's channel, D'range's Law was flagged as "SPAM" WTF?! This is flagrant abuse of the flagging protocol, perpetrated by somebody who simply disagrees with me. So without any slight meant towards the gay community, I would like to introduce a new Net slang for these false-flagging turd-kernels: "Spam Flaggits", or simply "flaggits" for short.

  • You say at the end, LOVE. What is love, not telling someone who is lost and condemned the truth and letting them go to hell, or telling them how to be saved.

If your neighbors' house was on fire, would you in love not tell them, not wanting to annoy them or offend them, or would you in love warn them to save their lives.....How much more their ever dying soul.

If you are saved you are backslidden as hell and a chicken afraid to witness for the one who saved you, or you are lost. Get saved.

  • Yes, and I also approved your comment, so what does that say? My friend across the way hails from Red China. He was in a near-suicidal funk over the guilt being put upon him by proselytizers. I helped him out through acts of brotherly love. He's OK now. I can't speak for you, but I would never coerce my children to love me by threatening or guilt-tripping them. They have laws for people like that!

  • I have lived on this earth 30 years, and been given maybe 2 tracts. My wife is 34 years old and says she has received 0 tracts.

You say not to assume you are lost. The comments you make are comments that no one out of about 10,000 saved("backslidden" or not) that I have ever met would say. I can't imagine any out of the millions on this earth who have been born again by the word of God(which these tracts contain) critisizing gospel tracts(which have saved millions over the years).

  • Millions of people sat idly by during WWII and allowed a man to commit genocide. Group think doesn't make people right. I have differing views than you and your flock, so you assume that I must be wrong. Christ had differing views, too.

I personally don't see how your experiences compare to mine in any way, either. I live in a very dense urban area, and I have been handed dozens of tracts, and found hundreds more as flotsam on the ground.

  • Where do you think I got all these tracts anyway? Conjured them up like Harry Potter? I got them from street preachers, streetpreacher1611! I have lived on this Earth for 43 years, have been in dozens of churches and temples, have neighbors of all races and faiths, and just participated in a Christmas parade.

    Happy Holidays!

  • Of 10,000 people:(roughly)

    substance abuse= 2,700

sexual abuse in women= 1,666.6, in men: 333.3 representing only 41% of reported cases. Of these, 880 will be under age 18.

Over 500 of the 10K will be gay.

30% of all youth suicides will be over sexual identity.

My stats are founded on real research. Are yours? Or were you just making stuff up?

And I say to myself, what a wonderful world...

  • oh wait.. im not christian.. oh no... i must be stupid.. maybe i worship satan.. oh wait.. if u just obey the lord he will save me... oh.... ooh... OH NOO..... O_o

  • I have gotten some comments and messages on this, video, inferring that rejecting these tracts is somehow rejecting God. Thay have also gone so far to assume that I don't believe in God or Jesus. Assume nothing.

I suggest people play this back slowly, and see just how whack most of these tracts are.

If a blatantly crazy preacher said to you, you must follow me, or you else are rejecting God, what would YOUR response be?

  • Hey. Just think, the more of those tracts you read and the more times you reject the pardon that The Lord Jesus Christ is offering you, the more you'll be guilty at the judgement of God!

  • Who said I didn't believe? I can't believe in God AND reject propaganda, litter and applied psychology?

    Now THAT'S didactic!

Hey! Just think, every time you assume, you not only make an ass of you and me, but you also bear false witness! Neato!

  • I absolutely buy what you're saying and you're right about the "psychology" that's passed off as preaching the Gospel.

As for bearing false witness, it sounds like you are assuming I have actual knowledge of your faith. I can tell by your comments, your attitude toward preaching (1 Cor 1:21)

  • First: Cool. Glad to have point of agreement.

Second: It did sound that way to me, too, hence false witness. If you bear no assumptions, then what was your first post about? To see how far off-track some Bible tracts are, just pause the video right before the "WTF?" slide. Anyone who can make sense of that needs a shrink more than they need Christ.

And Third, my attitude on judgment is like a bean-jar contest: Anyone who can tell me the exact number of hairs on my head, wins!

  • (1 Cor 1:21) Interesting! The Sufi's teach something very similar to 1 Cor 1:19!

  • asda

  • Tried Googling "asda". Lots of acronyms and organizations, but hard to find context other than close proximity on the keyboard, so my reply to you is:

    "qwertyuiop".

  • Whats the message your trying to get acrss with this video?

  • Hmmm... for starters, Bible tracts and proselytizers did more harm than good to me. I present to you, me as exhibit "A". Secondly, I feel that due to lack of context, Bible tracts have as much to do with the actual point of the word as Phil Knight has to do with his sneakers, or the message "Just Do It". Both are equally ambiguous and misleading.

"Just brainwash the young to spread your message" would be more straightforward.

  • Fantastic collection. Makes a good video. I like the choice of Orff's O Fortuna for the music.

I enjoy Chick tracts myself; that stuff is hilarious.

  • Thought for the day:

    Matthew 6:34

"Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."

    —Jesus Christ

  • i put a pink bouncyball between my teeth, then i laughed so fucking hard i almost wet myself! LOL thx for teh comdey...

  • If the Bible said,"Thou shall not cast my word about like so much rubbish on the streets", you proselytizers and pamphleteers would be totally fucked, wouldn't you?

  • P1

They are very interesting lot, those ancient Gnostic believers, whose beliefs have been revived today in some quarters as a modern form of pious religious & intellectual drag.

  • P2

I once worked with a man who told me that the sun didn't exist. I said to him "what" he said yea man it's not real. I said well how come I can feel its rays on my face. He said it's all in my head, I said to him "in my head" I can feel the suns darn rays on the outside of my head not on the inside. He believed in divine healing and was self healing a large cancer on his face by his pure mind and intellect power because it was not there.

  • I must agree with you they are pretty funny tracts. They also contain the most manipulative, over stated and over rated nonsense ever placed on man. I can understand why these religious nuts unscrupulously distribute & foster such distorted bigoted rubbish. Because the core issue is true "there is a God" and I am glad that you collect them because one day you will accept the truth about Jesus and when you do please let me know before you disengage from the evolutionary escalator.

  • The majority of these were found as litter. Urban flotsam. I remove them from the eyes and minds of the innocent (Children and the mentally ill), as I would any illicit material. Only those other things (drugs, etc) I destroy. The tracts I collect. And I am an agnostic, sir. I never said I did not believe. I will "disengage from the evolutionary escalator" as soon as I think it is of any more importance than Jesus' skin color.

  • Awesome collection George!

My husband collects tracts because they are funny and to keep them from innocent children. Thanks for sharing.

    The friendly neighborhood atheist

  • Thanks, applemommie! The collection used to be MUCH larger! I don't know if I was clear in the beginning of my vid, but much of it disappeared when an ex-girlfriend who knew I why was collecting these stole them from me when we broke up. She claimed to be a Christian, but she was also mentally ill, and very confused. She also destroyed all my Marvel Cards and a D&D game, at the behest of 2 other crazy fundies.

  • There is an old and well known saying, "never judge a book by its cover". It seems to me the subject of those books is "Where are you going to spend eternity"? Sounds like a good question to ask to me.

  • A better one is, how did it feel before you were born? OR: is "eternity" retroactive, (truly eternal) or does it begin the moment you die? Is this the same amount of eternity as Hitler or, antithetically, Moses gets?

The idea of eternal sleep without existence does not frighten me, as it has obviously terrified others for millennia.

I think it's a question you can keep away from any of my potential offspring, thank you.

  • Excellent video and music, George! This is Calvin by the way...

  • Great video George, now if we can only find a way to leave copies of it at the bus stop.

Also, I love the fact that you used Carl Orff on this, it's a great piece, very apropo.

  • Yeah I'm basically thumbing my nose at the Kent Hovind people (CSE) all the way, here. Well, except to the best of my knowledge, I didn't use any of THEIR copyrighted material.

Oops, sorry! THEY don't HAVE any, do they?

  • hehehe...i love that...too funny

  • Great irreverent vid!!! Keep up the good work!

  • Is that an O'cedar broom Harry Potter's got there? I didn't know there was a Walmart in Diagonalley!

  • This video should be viewed a second time SLOWLY. The context and subliminals are quite interesting, and there's at least one funny picture that doesn't quite belong!
