  • Is this the same one you were having misfire problems with? O and your first shot was off most likely because like all gun lovers we clean them after we shoot them, which is good to to but always remember to run a bullet down the barrel before you go for a long shot after cleaning, cleaning gives you a "clean "cold bore shot, after you have 1 to 5 rounds down your barrel your zero may change, in genreal only clean your barrel with solvents/oil if its really dirty or going to be stored for awhile

  • @hookset85 yes this is the same rifle that is having problems. turns out the firing pinn was broken. i havent had it fixed yet but its on the cards

  • have you registered this rifle with her majesty the queen?

  • @asssface2000 umm i live in australia so no haha. thanks for your comment

  • very nice vid cheers mate im gonna get my un licence next year

  • @ak74u2 good for you mate - thanks for your comment - jacko

  • @enfiled303 no worries mate ;)

  • I still want someone to make a 8 inch long .22 magnum round. Imagine the velocity :)

  • @AsianDomination911 haha yeh that would be insain but can you imagin the chambering issues it would have. haha - thanks for your comment - jacko

  • very nice rifle very soon I will take a long gun, like them on video. congratulations for your work and your wonderful rifle

  • @johnnyrhodes1 thanks for your comment mate - jacko

  • thats still pretty cheap for ammo think about it sell the varmint fur for money coons, mink, rabbit, fox, coyote, muskrat ect are all worth money exp if you out hunting with it

  • @nitroexpress700 yes if you were a proffessional hunter the .22 magnum ammo costs would not effect you so much. - thanks for your comment - jacko

  • @enfiled303 or if you have a job? im a full time trapper i hunt for a living the 22 mag is by far a better rounfg than a 22 it has a lot more knock down power so if you have to use the rifle ina survival situation it will better serve you and when working a trap line it will kill the bigger critter like wolf ect much easyer the 22 lr isa great practice round but thats about it and i can get 22 mag ammo for 8 bucks and the stuff your shooting for 15 your getting ripped off.

  • @nitroexpress700 where are you mate. USA, Aus??? cuz just at the moment .22mag ammo is just over $22 for 50 . but i agree .22mag is better.

  • @enfiled303 im up in northern canada ammo here is pretty cheap i get most of my ammo out of the usa its dirt cheap there depending where ya get it

  • Fuck off sick cattle that's just a slow way to kill them you need bigger guns they are verry tuff

  • @Benboi98 have you ever been to a meatworks? the round they use to kill cattle there is very similar to a 22. infact it looks smaller

  • @CAM20598 yes they use a round smaller than a .22 . cattle have a vunrable spot on their head killing them instiantly.

  • @Benboi98 well actually in the slaughter yards they use .22lr to put down the cattle. remember its not gut shots here. - thansk for your comment jacko

  • i would recommend a .22 to anyone they take down anything from rabbits to kangaroos to sick cattle.

yes we do have a permit to kill kangaroos.

  • is it concitered "high volacity"

  • @MrMuscleMam1105 it all depends on what ammo you buy mate, some of it is high volacity and some is low

  • idk where you live but if you live by cabelas go in the gun section, and go to the aisle with clips in it. Theres a .22 clip that holds like 100-200 shells.

  • LOL I kept pausing the video cuz of that squeaking animal. I thought It was coming from my backyard lol

  • They should realy make new ones, fater cartridges but same .22MAGs length and the bullet stay as .22 size "nochange" . That would be a hell of small rifle with longer range and impact.

  • is that gun good against zoombies?

  • Here in the states we can shoot 525 rounds of .22lr ammo for 20 buck....haha man, that sucks for you all!

  • Howdy enfield303 like your vids, just had to subscribe, mate what do you think is a better choice, .22mag rimfire or centrefire?

    Thanks Bloke

  • READ THIS: SGammo has good deals on ammuntion. go to the website. .22 magnum ammo is a good deal on the site.

  • Hey that Sterling rifle is interesting it reminds me of a WWII style rifle. What's up with the long bar that leads up to the front sight?

  • Those 30gr ballistic tip .22WMR cartridges you got there look great. I can tell you right now they are MUCH better quality than .22lr. I have noticed by studying ballistic data that .22WMR is good for 125 yards and some people say even 150 yards for hunting. I have read others saying that if you are hunting coyotes, try to stay within 75-100 yards as you need to shoot them accurately and in the right spot. 40gr seems to have the best ballistics in .22WMR, & more power than .17HMR to 150 yards

  • fail on inserting the mag:P

  • god the sound of a .22 magnum is just BEA-utiful

  • I did not know Aussie's were allowed to have any firearms. Cool rifle.

  • @srvanddt1

Gun control doesn't mean a total gun ban. Basically the gov't arranged all guns into different categories, and you require a licence for each category. (A: Shotty, Rimfire | B: Cent'fire | C: Semi-Auto). In Aus, the majority of voters hate guns, and shooters - ergo why we have so much regulation in the first place. It's the only way shooters can own and fire guns unfortunately, it's the price we pay for the privelage (Not a freedom in Australia).

  • @flyboy172r What is the price of ammo there for 22LR and 22Mag? I assume it must be expensive.

  • @srvanddt1

Not sure, to be honest. I spent yesterday looking for .22WMR prices around where I live but couldn't find any listings. But whatever it is, it's definetly more expensive than the states. I'll give you an example for a larger round: I bought a case (440 rounds) of 7.62x54R for my Mosin Nagant a few months ago. In the states, you will pay $90 on average. I paid $250 + $30 for dangerous goods transport to my state. All up, that's over 300% more than you will pay in the states.

  • Nice shooting there Tex

  • me and ma dad use this when gator huntin

  • ok for my birthday im getting a gun. i either wanted a .50 muzzleloader or a .22 and i was wondering wat .22 to get. a ruger 10/22 or a sterling .22 magnum

  • how much do these compare to .17 hmr price per shot wise?

  • @remoman a 17 hmr is like 10 bucks for 50 where i have gotten decent 22 lr ammo for 15 bucks and got like 500 bullets

  • there was a 22 mag in a shooter mag a few months ago and they where getting 1.5inch groups at 134 meters. also with a federal 50gr you get more power at 200yards that a 22 target load point blank, 22lr get alot of bullet drop after 75yrds and 22 mag drop after 120yrds.

  • @929cosmodude Good info

  • Bloody good grouping. Would you recommend .22 Magnums? And how much different are they to .22LRs?

  • @TheHandgunhero yes i would recomend them mate. differences are 1. the ammo cost like tripple compared to a .22lr 2. they have alot more takenown power and use a 45grain projectile \

  • @enfiled303 i use winchester subsonic and power points and they are both 42 grain for my .22lr

  • @TheHandgunhero

    Muzzle velocity :

    22 Lr (40 grains, 2.6 g.) : about 350 m/s

    22 Mag (FMJ 40 grains, 2.6 g.) : about 600 m/s

in term of energy... 22 Mag has about 3 time more "lethal" energy than standart 22 Lr. this one can be compensated by choice of ammo (for exemple 22 Lr Stinger, Hollow Point ...).

  • @farmingismylife123 I thought I was the only one who shouted like WTF R U DOING WITH THAT TRIGGER?!

  • 22 lr 1-75 yards 22 mag 1-150 yards 22 mag velocity is same a 22 lr muzzle velocity at 100 yards

  • good vid. !

  • that rifle looks old as shit

  • actually they go from 100-250 yards depending on skill and grains.

  • 17 hmr is almost equal to it but alot cheaper

  • @dog33100 nope here in aus it is $25 for 50 for the hmr and about $20 for 50 for the 22wmr

  • @111skaterade crazy man here inusa they are both cheaper and .17 hmr is cheaper than .22 wmr

  • your a fucken retard dont jerk the trigger like u jerk you dildo out or pussy at night

  • Would it knock a Coyot down?

  • @AcAinslie yes

  • @farmingismylife123 Perfect, thanx, ill still prolly get a .223 if i can help it because im not sure of the regs in my area of Ontario but i red i need to use a .22 -.- so i figured id get the best bang for my buck and get a mag, but as i said if i can help it a .223 is what i want

  • @AcAinslie depening on where you get it but yes this can pretty much take anything down if you get it in the right spot

  • @reno93535 CCI Maxi-mag 40gr JHP. Yes, it is slower (1900 vs 2200 +) than a 30 gr bullet yet trajectory hardly changes. The increased speed doesnt make up for what is lost in KE from a 40gr.

  • @fishon421 Been using that round solely and zeroed the Savage yesterday. Not much drop at 175 yards. Ther's a good MPBR chart on "Jesse's hunting" for .22wmr.

  • Walmart has CCI ammo for about $10-$11 a box of 50. You can find places on the internet that sell for as low as $7 per 50, plus shipping.

  • If you had the choice would you rather have a .22LR or the magnum? Personally I would stick with the LR, keep up the good vids mate, hopefully I will have some more of my own up soon.

  • @jubbles2343 well mate my .22 mag shoots alot better than the .22lr i have. but the ammo is just too expensive for it, its crazy like $20 for 50 shots whereas .22 long rife is like $5 for 50 shots. but if money was not an issue i would defs say the magnum. much more power hardly any kick and quite good groups

  • @enfiled303 Ive heard they dont go as accurate as an lr at long ranges.

  • @enfiled303 550 rounds of 22lr is only $18 and 50 CCI Maxi Mags are around 11$ where I live.

  • @jWARRICKm Hey, 550 Bulk is cheap design! .22LR is same diameter as its the case--I don't like that (for the price, who cares eh?). Whereas CCI MaxiMag HP is a beautiful, pro design. .22WMR has the power at 100 yards that .22lr has at the muzzle.! The .22WMR is a superior professional design, whereas the .22lr is cheap

If you're hunting at further distance .22WMR is 2x more useful. If you're hunting small critters up close .22lr is 11x better--due to price! haha

  • Good video Jacko.

The Stirlings are great - sold me on 22m.

I have just received our new CZ455 22WMR, (with a bi-pod). We passed on the Ruger 96 22WMR a couple of months ago. It had a soft, poor qual. scope rail, and was not that confidence inspiring generally. We liked the removable mag & the lever action, though.

I have test-fired a CZ 17HMR in the past on a windy day. The bullets seemed to sail off with the breeze - even at 30m!

Is 50m a good zero distance??

    Cheers

    Dave

  • Great shooting mate! Nice rifle btw

  • The 22WMR is a great round! I have 2 savages (models 24 & 93fss). You can get 30gr, 34gr or 40gr bullets. I like the 40gr which is the same as most 22LR bullets (30, 32 & 34 also available). It has considerable range with a flatter trajectory than the standard 22LR. Zero at 107 yards will give you +1.5 inches at 65yards and -1.5 inches at 123yards (MPBR trajectory). The 22LR's MPBR is around 80 yards with a 40gr bullet. It is a great round and has allot more KE than the .17hmr. I lv me a 22MAG!

  • @fishon421 What particular .22wmr ammo do you use for the 107 yard zero/124yrdMPBR, seeing that ammo speed varies?

  • try not to flinch when you pull the trigger....other than that? good shooting ;)

  • i get my .22 lr ammo for $3 a box

  • those groups were great iv shot several sterling 22mags and the groups were all crap. well done

  • Nice shots man!

  • thats a sweet old rifle it groups good , where did the make sterlings ? Aus ? UK?

  • @MrLongbranch303 I really have no idea. Pretty sure they dident make them in Aus. and yes it shoots really well. It has a heavie barrel that also helps the groups

  • @enfiled303 made in the Philipines i belive

  • @enfiled303 Great feature of .22 caliber firearms is that it's easier to have a thicker barrel or Bull Barrel. Since .22lr & .22WMR are of lower velocity than the centerfire .22 cartridges they do not heat up the barrel as quick. Add low velocity and thick barrels together and you get a fun bolt action repeater.

For about US $9-16 you may purchase quality .22WMR hunting ammunition in USA. It's more expensive than .22lr but higher quality by design. It's still ridiculously affordable

  • @MrLongbranch303 sterlings are made in the Philippines

  • @MrLongbranch303 made in the phillipines for the most part

  • @MrLongbranch303 gday mate, i have the same gun and it says phillipines

  • @MrLongbranch303 they make Sterlings in the phillipines i own one that's a .22lr they are a great rifle.
