The Visayan versions posted in Youtube are actually closer to the original Spanish than the present tagalog version. I want to make something clear to you and toiletholder. Filipino or as we Filipinos call it "tagalog" is the official language of the Philippines, has been for some number of decades. Cebuano, Waray, Ilocano, Pampango etc. are considered dialect. A dialect isclassified as an oral orientation of words used in small provinces that shares similarity to the mother tongue. Dogdogis you have to face it 3/4 of Cebuano speaking Filipinos speak Tagalog, while not a tenth of Tagalogs speak cebuano.

That law is unjust. Consider that the original lyrics are Spanish. This is an old Cebuano version of the anthem. It wasn't just translated for this video. There are 2 Cebuano versions: Mutyang Pinangga (the one sung here from Cagayan de Oro City or Iligan, I forgot) and Yutang Tabunon (from Cebu). To me, outlawing the singing of the national anthem in any other Filipino language other than Tagalog tells me that the Philippine gov't thinks of non-Tagalog languages as less Filipino.
