if you want to convince the non-cebuano speakers that the cebuano version is better, you should have chosen someone else to sing the anthem.
who's idea is this, anyways... philippines is a democratic country, i respect your freedom, creativity, etc... but there's a national flag and anthem law which all filipino should abide.
your are an idiotic chauvinistic tagalog who does not even know there are many non-tagalog ethnic groups in the Philippines... buang ka... ingon pa sa mga visaya... buang ka!!! wala ka kasabot? BUGO kA! wala kay grado...ang bagol-bagol mo WALAY UNOD!!!! HAHAHAHA... LOL!
say what you want.this is not an argument of which language is better!to put it bluntly, the voice of the singer sucks!and whoever rewrote the lyrics should be embarassed by USING this poor child to sing your trash! mahiya ka... di mo dapat ginagamit students mo. ikaw mismo humarap sa camera at kumanta nyang trash work mo. and if you want respect, converse in a language na maiintindihan ka: filipino, the national language of the philippines, or simply english, what we claim our second language.
hi solfedbutuan, since you started character asassination telling me im an idiotic chauvinistic tagalog, here's an info:i worked for the national centennial commission, thats why i know theres a flag & anthem law.i travel around the philippines to conduct music courses organized by the national commission for culture & the arts & various local government units to train public school teachers, students,& interested people;& part of the training includes the proper way of singing lupang hinirang
i am also a musical director, composer& lyricist of various shows of the philippine information agency.i am also a musical director, voice trainor, and composer of a singing competition in a television network. i also represented the philippines in an international singing competition and won gold for our country!all of these are just part of my long list of accomplishments as an artist and art educator.this is my answer to your statement "wala kay grado." now, who are you?
Hahaha. LOL...at least we are proud of our own identity. bayot ka tingale kay ginapatulan nimu bisan bata...kaila ko baya ang nagakanta ani.proud cya magkanta ani.pahambog ra ka, mura kag bayot...wala kay polos!
hoi shapeshadesounds unsa mani sulti mo? "if you want to convince the non-cebuano speakers that the cebuano version is better, you should have chosen someone else to sing the anthem." who did the character assasination first? dba ikaw? karun kung insultuhon ka tyabaw ka? pikon ka noh?
...by the way.. as what i read. you are discriminating against the Visayan languages as well as the one who is in the video. is that the proper way of remaking as a musical director? don't you that you are exposing yourself to the world as a racist? it's now the international year of languages or didn't you know that?if you are really in the NCCA racists like you should be kicked out.
And who said that anyone was trying to say that the Cebuano version is better. That is something you came up with. I mean everyday, non-Tagalogs are reminded how much the Tagalog language is better.
this is such a racist comment. having been a product of historical accidents, tagalog does not have the claim to superiority over other philippine languages. our languages are as great as tagalog. no madim pay maawatan ngata ti saok ken awan ammom kadaytoy no di la ti naganna, kasanom maibaga a tagibaba iti tagalog daytoy? ayna, ayna, agalluadka iti ibagbagam. baka agsubli amin kenka. baka mangankanto iti tapok no dika agalluad!
Please read my posts carefully. I said that non-Tagalogs are reminded that their languages are inferior. I didn't say that their languages ARE inferior, but that they are only reminded of it because their laguages are oppressed by Tagalog.
I want to make something clear to you and toiletholder. Filipino or as we Filipinos call it "tagalog" is the official language of the Philippines, has been for some number of decades. Cebuano, Waray, Ilocano, Pampango etc. are considered dialect. A dialect isclassified as an oral orientation of words used in small provinces that shares similarity to the mother tongue. Dogdogis you have to face it 3/4 of Cebuano speaking Filipinos speak Tagalog, while not a tenth of Tagalogs speak cebuano.
well, more than seven decades of oppression and forcefully jamming Tagalog down our throats made such situation. If however, Manuel did not legislate or declared such a stupid decree, then Tagalog would be restricted to four regions. While Ilocano, being a natural lingua franca that spread through the natural process of migration would have become a greater lingua franca. The same is true with Cebuano. Tagalog is an artificial lingua franca enforced by a looney legislation!
oh, please check your conceitedly smug and overbearing presentation of Ilocano, Cebuano, Waray, Pampango etc. as dialects because they are "an oral orientation of words" when in fact, they are not. Ilocano, and the others, is a fully developed language with its own orthography and grammar separate from that of Tagalog. Ilocano does not even use ang, ng and sa! And by the way, before making any statement, please check you facts and arguments. And make sure they have not any loop hole.
A dialect is NOT how you defined it. It is misdefines by almost all Filipinos I meet. A dialect is a variation of a language. Dialects of the English language, for example, are Midwestern American, Canadian Maritimes, Oklahoman, South Carolina, Minnesotan, Southern Ontarian, the various accents of London, England. These are all variants of the language English. They can all have conversations among each other. Tagalog and Cebuano are languages. Spanish and Portuguese are closer to each other.
Ikaw shapeshadesounds, wala kay shape! Kabalo ka diay nga democratic ta? I-censor mo ang freedom of expression namo? Daghan kami ron cge katawa nimo. Hahaha. LOL. Kinsa jud ang ngalan mo? Isearch ka namo, kun sikat ka jud. Hahaha. Bleeehh!
the truth hurts.... kahit sa singing maids contest sa eat bulaga e di papasa student mo sa auditions! bago pa kayo makatikim ng panlalait e tanggalin mo na video ng trash na translaation and singer! you dont make visayans proud bu this video! ikaw ang chinachallenge ko magbigay ng profile mo, di ka masabi kahit ano except using your language na di ka maiintindihan.. how pathetic can that be? im here in youtube in search for good amateurs, to answer your question.
I agree, she is not a good singer. But you've stooped to the level of name-calling. Calling a young person trash would be grounds for the children's aid to take a child away from her parents and is, therefore, child abuse. She's doing what she likes. If you don't like it, look for a good amateur somewhere else.
That law is unjust. Consider that the original lyrics are Spanish. This is an old Cebuano version of the anthem. It wasn't just translated for this video. There are 2 Cebuano versions: Mutyang Pinangga (the one sung here from Cagayan de Oro City or Iligan, I forgot) and Yutang Tabunon (from Cebu). To me, outlawing the singing of the national anthem in any other Filipino language other than Tagalog tells me that the Philippine gov't thinks of non-Tagalog languages as less Filipino.
fuck the philippine anthem. we going make our own Visayan anthem for all the Visayan people

i think whoever made this up could have at least tried to rearrange the lyrics before the video was broadcasted.
i'm a cebuano too but please let us not misrepresent the brilliance of the cebuano language and poetry through this crap.
on my part,i feel that the singer's rendition in ilonggo language is the best among other versions.
although i don't take it as an offense like many cebuanos who have seen this,i believe better things should have been done.good job though.

what is this? why the translation?
if you want to convince the non-cebuano speakers that the cebuano version is better, you should have chosen someone else to sing the anthem.
who's idea is this, anyways... philippines is a democratic country, i respect your freedom, creativity, etc... but there's a national flag and anthem law which all filipino should abide.
shapeshadesounds 3 years ago
your are an idiotic chauvinistic tagalog who does not even know there are many non-tagalog ethnic groups in the Philippines... buang ka... ingon pa sa mga visaya... buang ka!!! wala ka kasabot? BUGO kA! wala kay grado...ang bagol-bagol mo WALAY UNOD!!!! HAHAHAHA... LOL!
solfedbutuan 3 years ago
say what you want.this is not an argument of which language is better!to put it bluntly, the voice of the singer sucks!and whoever rewrote the lyrics should be embarassed by USING this poor child to sing your trash! mahiya ka... di mo dapat ginagamit students mo. ikaw mismo humarap sa camera at kumanta nyang trash work mo. and if you want respect, converse in a language na maiintindihan ka: filipino, the national language of the philippines, or simply english, what we claim our second language.
shapeshadesounds 3 years ago
hi solfedbutuan, since you started character asassination telling me im an idiotic chauvinistic tagalog, here's an info:i worked for the national centennial commission, thats why i know theres a flag & anthem law.i travel around the philippines to conduct music courses organized by the national commission for culture & the arts & various local government units to train public school teachers, students,& interested people;& part of the training includes the proper way of singing lupang hinirang

i am also a musical director, composer& lyricist of various shows of the philippine information agency.i am also a musical director, voice trainor, and composer of a singing competition in a television network. i also represented the philippines in an international singing competition and won gold for our country!all of these are just part of my long list of accomplishments as an artist and art educator.this is my answer to your statement "wala kay grado." now, who are you?
shapeshadesounds 3 years ago

hoi shapeshadesounds unsa mani sulti mo? "if you want to convince the non-cebuano speakers that the cebuano version is better, you should have chosen someone else to sing the anthem." who did the character assasination first? dba ikaw? karun kung insultuhon ka tyabaw ka? pikon ka noh?
Philclass 3 years ago
duh! my remark is not character assasination, its a keen musical observation! duh to yah!
shapeshadesounds 3 years ago
...by the way.. as what i read. you are discriminating against the Visayan languages as well as the one who is in the video. is that the proper way of remaking as a musical director? don't you that you are exposing yourself to the world as a racist? it's now the international year of languages or didn't you know that?if you are really in the NCCA racists like you should be kicked out.
crazyjeaf 3 years ago
And who said that anyone was trying to say that the Cebuano version is better. That is something you came up with. I mean everyday, non-Tagalogs are reminded how much the Tagalog language is better.
toiletholder 3 years ago
this is such a racist comment. having been a product of historical accidents, tagalog does not have the claim to superiority over other philippine languages. our languages are as great as tagalog. no madim pay maawatan ngata ti saok ken awan ammom kadaytoy no di la ti naganna, kasanom maibaga a tagibaba iti tagalog daytoy? ayna, ayna, agalluadka iti ibagbagam. baka agsubli amin kenka. baka mangankanto iti tapok no dika agalluad!
dogdogis 2 years ago
Please read my posts carefully. I said that non-Tagalogs are reminded that their languages are inferior. I didn't say that their languages ARE inferior, but that they are only reminded of it because their laguages are oppressed by Tagalog.
toiletholder 2 years ago
I want to make something clear to you and toiletholder. Filipino or as we Filipinos call it "tagalog" is the official language of the Philippines, has been for some number of decades. Cebuano, Waray, Ilocano, Pampango etc. are considered dialect. A dialect isclassified as an oral orientation of words used in small provinces that shares similarity to the mother tongue. Dogdogis you have to face it 3/4 of Cebuano speaking Filipinos speak Tagalog, while not a tenth of Tagalogs speak cebuano.
mikeybunda0225 2 years ago
well, more than seven decades of oppression and forcefully jamming Tagalog down our throats made such situation. If however, Manuel did not legislate or declared such a stupid decree, then Tagalog would be restricted to four regions. While Ilocano, being a natural lingua franca that spread through the natural process of migration would have become a greater lingua franca. The same is true with Cebuano. Tagalog is an artificial lingua franca enforced by a looney legislation!
dogdogis 2 years ago
oh, please check your conceitedly smug and overbearing presentation of Ilocano, Cebuano, Waray, Pampango etc. as dialects because they are "an oral orientation of words" when in fact, they are not. Ilocano, and the others, is a fully developed language with its own orthography and grammar separate from that of Tagalog. Ilocano does not even use ang, ng and sa! And by the way, before making any statement, please check you facts and arguments. And make sure they have not any loop hole.
dogdogis 2 years ago
A dialect is NOT how you defined it. It is misdefines by almost all Filipinos I meet. A dialect is a variation of a language. Dialects of the English language, for example, are Midwestern American, Canadian Maritimes, Oklahoman, South Carolina, Minnesotan, Southern Ontarian, the various accents of London, England. These are all variants of the language English. They can all have conversations among each other. Tagalog and Cebuano are languages. Spanish and Portuguese are closer to each other.
toiletholder 2 years ago
Indeed! We need to re-educate ourselves about what is a language and what is a dialect.

Credentials don't justify reasoning. Reasoning justifies reasoning. Credentials might give one clout, but it doesn't make him immune to fallacy.

Ikaw shapeshadesounds, wala kay shape! Kabalo ka diay nga democratic ta? I-censor mo ang freedom of expression namo? Daghan kami ron cge katawa nimo. the truth hurts.... kahit sa singing maids contest sa eat bulaga e di papasa student mo sa auditions! bago pa kayo makatikim ng panlalait e tanggalin mo na video ng trash na translaation and singer! you dont make visayans proud bu this video! ikaw ang chinachallenge ko magbigay ng profile mo, di ka masabi kahit ano except using your language na di ka maiintindihan.. how pathetic can that be? im here in youtube in search for good amateurs, to answer your question.
shapeshadesounds 3 years ago
