  • I watched this movie when i was eight xD. Did any of you notice that pig in the window during the movie? Lol.

  • @BeanJeanSundae YES THAT WAS JODIE MISSY LUTZ FRIEND.

  • this really scares me cause like i live a half hour way from this house...

  • I cant even get past the opening scene, Scares the shit out of me, literally.

  • I used to think horror movies were invincible and all were awesome. THen I watched Leprachaun and amityville II....

  • @baboracus Yeah, horror movie sequels are notorious for sucking. Unless it's Hellraiser 2, which I found actually more interesting and scary than the first.

  • the ending I don't get, does the thing still live, is it a demon or the family that use to live there are they inside the house? What does the house want? So creepy and beautiful at the same time.

  • the end fear

  • I love this house. I quite honestly wouldnt give a shit if it was haunted, i would live there if i could, HANDS DOWN. PERIOD. People have called me crazy and all that. I remember staying in there once, and damn that house is stunning inside. Despite the History, i would own it and live in it. SERIOUSLY <3 I would just knwo NOT to bring in priests oor go into what was called the "Red Room". just to make sure i never piss off whatever lives in that home :) For sure. I know i would

  • So creepy! I've seen this when I was about 7 and this music still gives me the creeps even more today!

  • I saw this movie when I was in my teens, and right from the beginning, just the music alone made my piss myself. The sequel, Amityville II: The Possession is actually really good too. From that point forward the quality kind of takes a dump, though.

  • Listen to this with all the lights off, home alone, with your eyes shut! Rosemarys baby is another chilling theme they dont make them like they used to tbh.

  • wicked yet serene song when all of a sudden the deep sound of an evil presence wow this gives me tha CREEPS how bout ya,ll

  • Schifrin's score of "AMITYVILLE HORROR" is excellent...and also recycled. It is basically the score he came up with for "The Exorcist"--but director William Friedkin didn't like it and went with pre-exisiting music from other sources.

  • @boinnng

didn't Steve Boeddeker do the music for the Exorcist?

  • @PrueStar The final score for "The Exorcist" was made up of all preexisting music. Here's a sample listing:

Iraq by Jack Nitzsche - K. Penderecki

Tubular Bells performed by Mystic Sounds (Mike Oldfield)

    Polymorphia by K. Penderecki

String Quartet (1960) by K. Penderecki

    Windharp by Harry Bee

Night of the Electric Insects by George Crum

Kanon for Orchestra and Tape by K. Penderecki

Fantasia for Strings by Hans Werner Henze

  • I remember being like 7 years old when my older sister dragged me to see this with her. Holy shit was I ever scared!!!

Too bad the 2005 remake is such garbage. this one is a true classic!!

  • I think that Schifrin was inspired by the title music to "The Spirt of the Beehive". Compare the tracks by looking up The Spirit of the Beehive - Title Drawings and Music on this site. LOL, this was my third post about this! I kept messing up my posts!

  • LALO SCHIFRIN WAS ALSO KNOWN FOR THE DIRTY HARRY THEME,MANNIX,BULLITT W/ STEVE MCQUEEN,KELLY'S HEROES JUST TO NAME SOME.

  • really scary music !!!

  • I love all Lalo Schiffrin's soundtrack!

  • This Songs Creepy O_O

  • so creepy

  • I would like to extend proper thanks. I have the soundtrack (took years to get it) but I love the visual. Cheers!

  • I don't care what the haters say, this movie does not deserve its negative reputation! It's a great, scary movie! It's a 70's classic! And it's far scarier than the horrible remake.

  • I wish I lived in that house..

  • 3 dislikes??

  • I love it now I am going to post it to someones fb wall this song freaks them out. LOL

  • I love the Amityville Horror...

I just saw it and loved it, soon I will see the remake

  • That's some twisted mofo'n shit right there man

  • Can you please post the end credits, longer version of this film? I would really appreciate it. :-) Thank you.

  • I once spent a night in an old mansion like the Amityville house with a ghost hunting group, and while we were up in the attic, I heard inhuman laughter coming up from the woodwork. This song makes me think about it

  • Bellissima

  • Actually , this theme was the original pick for The Exorcist, but the producers wanted to go with Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells instead.

  • @cheapcape

That's very interesting! Being a fan of both "The Exorcist" and "The Amityville Horror", I never knew that.

  • @cheapcape No it wasn't. Common misconception that Lalo Schifrin has explained many times. This was an original composition.

  • Capolavori immortali

  • only movie ever to give me nightmares was Amityville Horror. <3 Good Times.

  • @NormandsOnBroadway Same here, I was petrified as a child afterwards, I made my mother sell the VHS in a yard sale. lol What a pussy I was. I recently got the DVD, it's a classic.

  • If my family keeps pissing me off, i'm gonna create a Brooklyn Horror House!

  • This sounds similar to Amityville 2's theme.

  • I heared this rumor that this Theme was originally supposed to be for The Exorcist.

But the Director/ or producer or someone involved with the film didn't like that music. so it was used for the Amityville Horror.

  • this was the song played for my bride and groom first dance

  • This was the scariest part of the movie for me as a kid. I remember after the first time renting it, not being able to get the music out of my head and just walking around scared shitless all day.

  • i love the movie and the music from it like this

  • When I saw this I thought at the end something was going to pop out. XD

  • The guy who did the music for Dirty Harry and Magnum Force also did the music for this film. All hail Lalo Schifrin!!!

  • This is pretty creepy music. I was disappointed with the movie though.

  • Did you know this song was first thougt for The Exorcist? But Tubular Bells was the winner of course! I think this song would work as well... It's creepy

  • Does anybody agree that the so-called remake-2005's THE AMITYVILLE HORROR- sucks? ...And, even though the "true" aspect of this story has been debunked, the remake STILL bills it as a based on fact story! Unbelievable!

  • @baros62 fuck i hate it really!!

  • @baros62 I have to agree, the remake was horrible like most remakes 99% of the time are. The original film had it's differences from the book and truth as well, but it's the closest the the truth than the remake. The fact they created a ghost of Jodie and made her Ronnie's sister was retarded. Another reason for it being horrible was the fact the theme music was not featured in the film.

  • What a wonderful Lulliby

  • The is the scariest piece of music in ANY film. I can't listen to it without looking to see if there's anyone behind me!

  • @signoftymes1 Feeling the same, just looked behind me twice while writing this comment. Three times now.....fuck.

  • This doesn't sound like the music in the actual AmityVille film!?

  • @Danielle28796 ...Then you actually do not remember this movie! It's one and the same. Go watch THE AMITYVILLE HORROR again. You'll see.

  • @baros62 Sorry, i'm talking about the remake one, because i prefer the music from there..

But i do love this film, obviously cause it's the original! :)

  • @Danielle28796 Ohh! That clears things up...

  • @Danielle28796 Yes it does, this is the original music theme.

  • @bassmanjoe Sorry, i'm talking about the remake one, because i prefer the music from there..

But i do love this film, obviously cause it's the original! :)

  • Nursery themes for scary movies are always a perfect match, like in "Poltergeist" or "Rosemary's Baby"!

  • @RobinSandza ...And check out the "lullabye" music in the great ghost story film- THE CHANGELING(1980) starring Geoge C. Scott.

  • @RobinSandza I totally agree! "Pet Sematary" is another good example.

  • I'm getting chills, this is a proper classic

  • @fuzzballz29 i share this account with my cousin, who wrote that completely false comment, he lives in maine no where near that house, nor has he be there.

  • @MNsportsguru I live right next door to a house just like it! I can see the "eyes" in my bedroom when I go to bed at night! I`ve jokingly asked my neighbor not to put the lights on in the attic at night so it won`t be illumunated!

  • creepy music!!!

  • i've been to that house, i dont live too far from it.

they remodeled it so it doesn't have those windows that look like evil "eyes"

  • I loved those windows. They should of left them alone.

  • its like the music was composed in hell by Satan himself...

    really horrific music!

  • I'm watching this film right now and it is creepy as fuck but I like the theme for the movie

  • Nas used this sample for his Intro from I Am...

    Classic Album, Classic Film.

  • @JSlashPSlash2009 yh nas killed it lol

  • scary shit

  • CREEPY

  • the house is currently on the market. i wonder who will buy it. I wish I had the money.

  • im scared x

  • Dumb question but wasn't this supposed to be the music for the Exorcist before it was rejected by William Friedkin?

  • Comment removed

  • @johnyzero2000 yes, it is and I can't believe they rejected it because I think it's creepier than the one they did use!

  • @Suse715

True. This music is scarier than Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield. Image how much scarier The Exorcist would have been if they used this theme!

  • Is that the Amityville house as it looks today in the picture?

  • @abwiz74 no its how the house looked back when the defeo family were murdered there and when the lutz family lived there for a brief time. the current owners sadly changed the house because they didnt want tourists and fans of the film snooping round their garden so they disguised the house, changed the windows and even the house number! i wish they hadnt tho coz those windows were amazingly creepy and beautiful. they practically made the house :(

  • @abwiz74 no, they changed the windows and house number
