i picked up the art 320 for 500 and some change has humbucker pickups and crazy inlays thing sounds bad ass we use it for all our tool covers it just has amazing sound i would suggest it to any one wanting to play blues all the way up to death metal this guitar can do it all
yeah man, they have this axe for $289 where i teach guitar, i can get it for $225. great axe especially if you dont want to spend $1200 on a les paul and it sounds and plays almost or just as good.
I have an art 100 that has a top that makes it look like a wood finish... it looks amazing... way better in person than the pictures online.. but the guitar plays amazing
I love the art100 the silver is awesome!! im considering that as my next guitar mostly cuz im a huge fan of single cutaways!! I like the art300, i think i would love it if it came in dark red my favorite color!! quick question when comparing these to a epiphone lp 100 or standard plus top which do you think is better in your opinion?
@45gunghopuppy I would also like to know if the Art 100 is better than the Epiphone Les Paul 100. I saw the Epi 100 for $250 & the Ibanez for $300. Is the single cutaway neck a lot better than a bolt on?
@OD138 I'm guessing you got your guitar already, but I have both Epiphone and Ibanez guitars. It's been my experience so far that you get a little more for your money with Ibanez. That being said, both are nice at that price point(s)... just go with which one sounds/feels better to you.
Which one is the higher quality one, the 100 or the 300? cause at GC the 100s more expensive (though not by much). It would stand to reason that the #'s go up the better it is but...
I've played the 100 at my local shop. I'm really impressed with both the feel, and the tone (especially from stock pickups) as well as the looks. Currently they have a tobacco burst model that I'm thinking of getting. however I'm also thinking of getting the 320 in red.
i got the art300 for my first guitar. but mines purpley black its an amazing guitar. the active pickups are amazing. its to the point of me having to turn my guitar gown when we play on the same amp. it is an amazing guitar.
i recently got the discontinued ART300 GREEN caiman, looks absolutely sick, like snake skin, plus its nice and dirty, which you might not expect w/ the active pickups, but its completely an affordable and incredible guitar. I got it off of ebay, manufacturer refurbished, so basically new, again in the discontinued green caiman color. Simply a complete steal. Any intermediate player would be very satisfied with this guitar.
I wanted the silver ART100 for the longest time, sucha classy guitar. I own the ART300 Brown camain, but was looking at the silver one. Is it discontinued? I havn't been able to find it anywhere.
i have the 100 in white and i absolutely love it. i think it's a generally great guitar overall for multiple styles of playing. couldn't want a better one especially for the price.
i just bought an ibanez art320 blue sunburst. amazing guitar, if you go to a local shop, you should check it out. not expensive, plays very very well. i have played both those guitars. picked them up today, and i have to say, you couldn't be more right. amazing...
hello tone king, I have the same Crate V18 as you. How do you like it? Great review BTW, hoping to buy one soon. at the price they're selling them it's a steal!
I just bought the ART600, fuckin gorgeous guitar!!!! quilted maple w. transparent blue coloration. the only draw back is it has rubber knobs lol, they kinda contradict the overall finish. I'll have a video uploaded soon of me playing it, itsa beast.
Hey Tone King, I've tried out the ART100 at one of my local music shops recently and I love everything about it. I play mostly hard rock and some metal music. I currently have a Fender Squire and I want to upgrade. Would you recomend this guitar for the price ($300)?
@lmsjr Hey ive beeen looking around for guitars for a while now du to my dillion les pauls guitar breaking down on me.. wll ive noticd that these two guitars come with different pickups( art100 the only art series guitar with ACH1-S and the rest with LZ1-N or b pickups) well my question is do they have much of a difference in sound?.. cuz i am equaly interested in the art100( with different pickups)as well as the art600, 420,320,300. but the 600 is made from different wood. Help me man!! thx
hey guys,i'm planning to buy a new guitar to replace my crappy ibanez gio grx40. i'm choosing between 3 guitars and i need advice on which is better. i play a lot of metal,post-hardcore,punk. my choice of guitars is this ibanez ART100,ibanez rg370dx or the schecter omen 6. which is better?yeah my budget is limited and the 3 guitars are within the same price range. i would appreciate anyone's opinion.
@toyakz312 iv played the schecter and even on a fender reverb amp(thats what i use) it had a VERY deep heavy type sound if u r into that kind of harder music then idk about the other 2 never played them but ibanez in general are usually always good guitars for hard sonuding music but when i lit down on them omega strings it was pretty awsome i dont play 2 much metal or punk but that axe deff. has what it takes for it but in my over all opinion u aint gonna go wrong with any of 3 but i lik omega
@bigdaddystratman thanks for the info man. i am a little bit confused between the 3. i'm still a little new to playing guitar,i've only played for 3 years so i don't know that much about the difference between guitars. i guess it's all up to me on which is more comfortable to play or satisfies my needs. one more thing, what kind of amp is good for metal?there are a lot of choices like the line 6 spider 3 or IV or peavey.
@toyakz312 well man i play fenders myself and if i want a metal sound i got a john 5 multi fx pedal that has lots of good metal distortions but my friend has some kind of marshall half stack im not sure wich one it is and its a lil expensive for me but its unreal the power and deep tones it has i hear a lot of great stuff about orange and spider amps both but never really got to experiment with ether one much! i just got done reading last months guitarworld magazine and they %started oranges!!!!
@bigdaddystratman yeah i have heard a lot about orange amps which are the amps used by slipknot and in terms of playing metal, orange has the highest percentage. marshall half stacks are expensive man they cost like $1000 or more. i'm thinking of buying a line 6 spider IV or a peavey bandit. my budget isn't that big so i'm looking for a decent amp that won't cost me much. and i'm thinking of buying a boss mt-2 metal zone pedal for that.
@toyakz312 Respond to this video...well dude for real i payed 300$ brand new for my fender and the reverb is unreal and the blues typr sound and with that pedal u just sudgested im sure it would sound great as a combo man if i was you and was gonna use a peadl too i wouldnt throw fender out if you run across one for a decent price like i did at a guitar syore grab a guitar off the wall and plug it in! and btw iv used bandits now that i think about it and they are good amps they sound nice too !
@bigdaddystratman fenders are pretty great especially if you like to play blues and jazz. but add that boss mt-2 and it can actually give an awesome metal sound. i actually saw one guy at a guitar shop here use that combo and it sounded pretty great. i didn't expect to hear that kind of sound from a fender. yeah the peavey bandit is awesome and a lot of people say it's way better than the line 6 spider and it's about the same price.
@toyakz312 Mate, look into the LTD brand. they are a sub brand for ESP and i have 1. also have a jackson V king and a Ibanez RG 350DX but, the LTD stays my favorite guitar.
@mitchellvanvliet i know about the LTD dude. my favorite guitar is the LTD EC-1000 but unfortunately where i'm from they don't sell ESP-LTD guitars so since i'm a metal player my only choice is the ibanez. i'm still an intermediate player so i'm still working on finger speed and i'm stuck with a crappy ibanez gio GRX40 but i am saving up though for the ibanez RG370DX or RG321. what kind of LTD do you have?
go try one of these in a music store first...I was going to buy one but they are awful..instead I got an ART420. check out some of my videos to check it out
22 frets is good because it means the pickup spacing is correct. With 24 frets the front pickup gets pushed about 3/4" towards the bridge. That's not much, but it's enough to make the "in between" position sound wrong. If you love the Jimmy Page/Allman Bro's in-between tone, you'll be disappointed. It loses some of the guttural out-of-phase quality. It still sounds good, but noticeably less good.
I have a red ART100. Its my 2nd guitar that Ive bought and Ive been playing for less then a year and I love it. The fact that it looked so great and was such a great price got me to buy it and it plays well to. If anyone wants to check out the red one go to my page and look at a cover.
i have an art100 :D it's great except mine is white not silver it looks way better check out my channel if you wanna see how it looks and sounds i love it especially the lil tribal thing on the 12th fret beautiful!
I just put my white ART on layaway, major steal at $299 at Sam Ash. Looks just like his silver one. Everyone wish me luck please, I'm just starting guitar at age 34!
@josephknightcom With videos on every subject from chords to ear training on Youtube available now, you should progress very quickly. The main thing to do is have the guitar "set up" when you buy it. If the guitar plays badly and won't stay in tune, you're going to quit. Buy a tuner, and learn to set the thing up yourself. Trust me, it will save you a lot of money and headaches in the long run. Good luck,
@Zubirrex Thank you for the advice. I have my Art hooked up with an audio interface to Ableton Live running the Guitar Rig plugin. Virtually any amp at my fingertips. Truly awesome tech. Tuner built into Guitar Rig.
I love the feel of this guitar. I know there's better and more expensive guitars out there but this one has such high value for the dollar.
I don't know anything about the 100 but I have had a 300 for about a year and it's amazing. I absolutely love it. Great sound and it's very versatile. Other than that it's incredibly unique and just a straight up badass guitar
I am thinking about getting the ART 120 myself in pure white, is there any major differences between the 120 and 300 other than the finish, and the £100 difference in price?
@stiltskin2002 the 120 got passive Pick ups, the 300 got active pickups. the 120 don´t got inlays, the 300 got inlays. and I think that they use other wood for the 120 then for the 300 (300 got a bit more sustain). but both sounds awesome :)
I think the rythm guitarist who performed with joe satriani on the 2006 live tour got a art 120!
Sorry, thats not right the 120 is exactly the same apart from finish both are active (same actives), same wood (mahogany) and the 120 has a tribal fret marker at 12th (:
yeah its worth the difference. the 300 has active pickups. they are ibanez actives but its better then cheap passives. plus it looks really cool cause of the crocodile skin feeling body
I'm not sure what the exact price difference is, but I know those active pick ups in the 300 are absolutely killer for what you're paying for. The 300 is an absolute rock and metal shredding machine. So if that's what you're looking to play, I'd hold off on cashing the piggy bank in for awhile and go with the 300.
I just bought the ART120. It has the same features as the 300, except the top. Those LZN active pickups are really awesome. I strongly recommend checking it out :)
The ART120 has a maple top. Otherwise I think it's the same guitar(except the pickups of course). There's some more finishes on ART100 though, but it doesn't matter to me cause i think the white finish is the best. :-D
I fancy a 320 to go with my strat, i cant really justify spending over £1000 for a gibson i like but i can have a 320 and a nice case to go with it and still have money left over for christmas. goin to see if i like the feel of one at a local dealers in the mornin.
Yep, I've got a korean made AXS32 's which is similiar to the Gibson SG. It's an absolutely amazing guitar which I picked up for around 360 bucks. Sadly, Ibanez discontinued the model after only a short production run, so i probably got one of the last ones.
320 has a flamed top. 300 has a textured (croc skin style) top. I know - I own the 300, and have the 320 on order :-) - Thanks, signed, The Tone King!
thanks man you seem like a cool dude. I want to get the art 300 brown finish. i thought the same thing the finish on the art 300 is awesome. the only thing im not to sure about are the active pickups. Does the battery last pretty long im not tryin to change batteries every month or so.
the Ibanez ART guitars do play great. i've tried them at guitar center. another similar guitar from the same series is the ART2EX1, which has the same mahogany body, and also a set mahogany neck and a silver finish that turns black towards the edges. it's got block inlays, and the pickups arn't battery powered i don't think.. it costs the same as an ART300 and is on sale for 50 bucks off at guitar center at the moment
I have the Art 100, black finish. It's a great guitar and is sturdy, survived a strap break with little more than a chip in the paint on the headstock. Solid, not too heavy, and good sound.
The ART100 is cheaper, but the ART300 is the better overall guitar because of the better pickups and it also has inlays which is better than just 1 on the 12th fret IMO. I personally love the body on the 300 (I have the black one), but if you don't like the finish, you could always go up to the ART500 which has a body similar to the 100, but better pickups. It is of course more expensive though.
i think you should buy the ART300 because i played the ART100 and it isn't a BAD guitar yet the pickups in it are a little more "beginner" like so your not going to get as much punch as you want out of the ART100 as to the ART300.
Y U NO ROCK ON?!

ibanezmaster100 1 year ago
@ibanezmaster100 EMGs or other active pickups need batterys (9 volts or AA) there's a slot at the back where the batteries are placed.

SixStringSublime 1 year ago
i guess they have only 22 frets...
its the only problem i find them
CrissCoverdrive 1 year ago
@CrissCoverdrive
It still sounds good, but noticeably less good.

psychkoala 1 year ago
@josephknightcom With videos on every subject from chords to ear training on Youtube available now, you should progress very quickly. The main thing to do is have the guitar "set up" when you buy it. If the guitar plays badly and won't stay in tune, you're going to quit. Buy a tuner, and learn to set the thing up yourself. Trust me, it will save you a lot of money and headaches in the long run. Good luck,
Zubirrex 1 year ago

Lonewolf9129 2 years ago
I am thinking about getting the ART 120 myself in pure white, is there any major differences between the 120 and 300 other than the finish, and the £100 difference in price?
stiltskin2002 2 years ago
@stiltskin2002 the 120 got passive Pick ups, the 300 got active pickups. the 120 don´t got inlays, the 300 got inlays. and I think that they use other wood for the 120 then for the 300 (300 got a bit more sustain). but both sounds awesome :)
I think the rythm guitarist who performed with joe satriani on the 2006 live tour got a art 120!
wikki11 2 years ago
Sorry, thats not right the 120 is exactly the same apart from finish both are active (same actives), same wood (mahogany) and the 120 has a tribal fret marker at 12th (:
iamthesoapboxmonster 2 years ago
I'm thinking about buying an art100 but really want an art300 is the price difference worth it, or are they both pretty much the same guitar?
ArtWithRob 2 years ago
yeah its worth the difference. the 300 has active pickups. they are ibanez actives but its better then cheap passives. plus it looks really cool cause of the crocodile skin feeling body
supersax92 2 years ago
I'm not sure what the exact price difference is, but I know those active pick ups in the 300 are absolutely killer for what you're paying for. The 300 is an absolute rock and metal shredding machine. So if that's what you're looking to play, I'd hold off on cashing the piggy bank in for awhile and go with the 300.
thatorangecrush 2 years ago
would it be worth it to buy the art 100 and put emg's in it? are there any ither downfalls to it?
lilcheap2 2 years ago
I just bought the ART120. It has the same features as the 300, except the top. Those LZN active pickups are really awesome. I strongly recommend checking it out :)
bulletguitars 2 years ago
thanks, i will. but is it pretty much the same thing as the art 100 with different pickups?
lilcheap2 2 years ago
@lilcheap2 Pretty much, yes.
The ART120 has a maple top. Otherwise I think it's the same guitar(except the pickups of course). There's some more finishes on ART100 though, but it doesn't matter to me cause i think the white finish is the best. :-D
bulletguitars 2 years ago
I fancy a 320 to go with my strat, i cant really justify spending over £1000 for a gibson i like but i can have a 320 and a nice case to go with it and still have money left over for christmas. goin to see if i like the feel of one at a local dealers in the mornin.

kevintheonly96 2 years ago
Despite the enormous downer that so many manufacturers don't lefties in more models. The ART100, for me, has been awesome. A very versitile guitar.
surfer870 2 years ago
Ibanez makes some great guitars, even the non shred ones like these are really good.
twitch136 2 years ago
Yep, I've got a korean made AXS32 's which is similiar to the Gibson SG. It's an absolutely amazing guitar which I picked up for around 360 bucks. Sadly, Ibanez discontinued the model after only a short production run, so i probably got one of the last ones.
dudewhosaysarrh 2 years ago
Does anyone know the difference between the ART 300 and the ART320?
Thanks in advance =)
ohnoesftw1 2 years ago
320 has a flamed top. 300 has a textured (croc skin style) top. I know - I own the 300, and have the 320 on order :-) - Thanks, signed, The Tone King!

Ah great thanks alot, I thought there maybe were some performance differences as well or material differences for that matter.

thanks man you seem like a cool dude. I want to get the art 300 brown finish. i thought the same thing the finish on the art 300 is awesome. the only thing im not to sure about are the active pickups. Does the battery last pretty long im not tryin to change batteries every month or so.
TheNewWorldMan69 2 years ago
the Ibanez ART guitars do play great. i've tried them at guitar center. another similar guitar from the same series is the ART2EX1, which has the same mahogany body, and also a set mahogany neck and a silver finish that turns black towards the edges. it's got block inlays, and the pickups arn't battery powered i don't think.. it costs the same as an ART300 and is on sale for 50 bucks off at guitar center at the moment
Ibanez10494 2 years ago
I have the Art 100, black finish. It's a great guitar and is sturdy, survived a strap break with little more than a chip in the paint on the headstock. Solid, not too heavy, and good sound.
ChadA23 2 years ago
ok umm im at a huge contraversie in my guitar life lol
im not sure weather to buy the art 100 or 300
any tips n all over which ones better???
squshyloopeh89 2 years ago
The ART100 is cheaper, but the ART300 is the better overall guitar because of the better pickups and it also has inlays which is better than just 1 on the 12th fret IMO. I personally love the body on the 300 (I have the black one), but if you don't like the finish, you could always go up to the ART500 which has a body similar to the 100, but better pickups. It is of course more expensive though.
00SoldierofFortune00 2 years ago
i think you should buy the ART300 because i played the ART100 and it isn't a BAD guitar yet the pickups in it are a little more "beginner" like so your not going to get as much punch as you want out of the ART100 as to the ART300.
miniskater94611 2 years ago
That ART300 (as well as the white Epi Les Paul Custom) is probably the only thing keeping me from getting an ESP EC-401...
