  • There was no merger between the CBA and Bank of NSW; it was a takeover. Witness the retention of the red 'W' for Westpac (which stands for Western Pacific Banking Corporation BTW). And which makes Westpac's ads as "Australia's oldest bank" all the more infuriating. They've only been around since the early 80s!

  • well if he keeps all that dough he's getting from his sugar daddy he'll be able to buy his own soon!

  • I remember the C.B.A bank but I cant remember who took it over?

  • The CBA (Commercial Bank of Australia, NOT the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in which they refer to as "CBA" these days) merged with the Bank of New South Wales ("the Wales") to form Westpac Banking Corporation in 1982.

  • I remember the Bank of New South Wales becoming Westpac but I didnt know that CBA was merged into it as well

  • The ultimate 'mid-life/crisis' commercial! Excellent!
