  • again are go karts cheaper to buy in winter are in summer? thanks

  • @FISTofMIST Yes, I would guess they are cheapest in racing off-season or the cold months. But it would depend on what kind of kart you are talking of (Racing karts? Yard karts? Dune buggies?) and where you plan to buy them (obviously, in the winter months up north we have less places and time to use them than down south). We never buy or sell karts however, we just build our own and collect as many as we can to race every week all Summer and into Fall, so I'm the wrong person to ask.

  • Im in Liverpool. Could I bring my single seater 6.5hp go kart to there?

  • @YouSoPorker Yes, you can come on up and give it a try. You must have slicks on your drive-wheel, and you can't have studded tires on any wheel. You can use a 6.5hp either temporarily (and your place in the race will not effect the place of drivers with 5hp motors), or if we have more drivers with 6.5hps, we can count the class as a separate points division (but still race the same race). We also have several 5hp karts on hand to try (for gas and parts-usage money).

  • @YouSoPorker We race almost every Sunday early evening all Summer long, and either Saturday or Sunday in the Fall. We have a weekly driver come out from Cortland, and some part-time drivers come out from places like Ohio and such, so Liverpool isn't that far in comparison. Our racing is free, just give the track preparer a donation for his hard work. All details are on our website (check the details of this video or Google Galletta's Go-Karts or Galletta's Karting Club).

  • @YouSoPorker We're always looking for more drivers to join our club, so just go to our website and email or call us! Thanks and hope to see you out next race!

  • Love it. This looks like so much fun

  • @Screendoor8 Thanks, yes it is! We call it "Professional caliber karting for backyard karting prices". We absolutely love it! If ever in Oswego come on by and race with us!

  • thats awesome, looks like you guys have a TON of fun. I run in a series like this in Rhode Island on asphalt, i wish we had a dirt track!

  • Haha, actually, we wish we had asphalt, as all of us are big fans of Supermodified racing. But, dirt is cheaper (tires, pavement), and it'd be difficult to pave our backyard, so we have fun with what we have. Thanks for the postive comments, we greatly appreciate them! :)

  • God I love the Supermods, they only come to Thompson once a year, but its worth it!

  • We have the fortune of seeing them weekly in Oswego during the summer. The fastest (and, IMO, most entertaining) short track race cars in the world.

One guy who used to race with us in 2007 raced a modified at Thompson once.

  • Oh no doubt, I think they would probly keep up with F1 cars. I get to push start them at thompson, and even thats a rush.

  • Yep. Haha, small world: a couple of the regular drivers here push them off all the time here, and several of our regulars were small block super drivers, and even a couple of super drivers have raced with us. One, believe it or not, once said our bracing is scarier than a super at times because of the sharp turns on our track.

  • this is halarious

  • Ha ha, thanks. We try. Our karting club is about affordable fun and competitive racing amongst friends. We have as much fun as it looks, even though we treat the racing seriously. Watch some of our other vids (I have around 60 up).

  • Great race.
