Great looking UI, but it's abit silly that whenever you wanted to turn pages you have to swipe the top panel 1st so that the bottom overlay buttons(the "down", phone and add) disappears till then you can use that half-circle at the bottom.

Right now, we don't know. We've been told that it depends on the service provider and manufacturer. That means that G1s, Magics, and Galaxy's may or may not get it. Ahhh, it's giving me heartache.

If you buy an HTC Magic it is very likely (though not impossible) that you will never get the 'Rosie' skin. Rosie was developed by HTC to enhance the look and feel of Android like they do with WinMo. You will certainly get the update to succeed Cupcake (1.5) for Android which is known as Donut (2.0) This is because the update is to underlying software, not the look. Hope that makes sense!

Actually, HTC has said that Rosie won't be coming to phones bearing the "With Google" logo (e.g. the Dream/G1) due to licensing agreements, so no, it doesn't look like the G1 will be getting Rosie.

I have my G1 rooted and followed this web page step by step and it worked. I am really scared to try to get their newest step by step to get hykuro 6.0 because i dont want to brick my phone so can all of you that have already attempted this let me know if it worked or not? thank you so much!!! p.s. Be careful with the SPL, do NOT downgrade it or you will brick the phone like I did. You will get stuck on the the T-mobile G1 boot screen and no key combo's will work to get back into the bootloader!!!

When Haykuro releases this, root will be necessary because this home screen is part of a whole new firmware that was leaked from HTC. Root is needed to install custom firmwares. The home screen will not function by itself because it relies on framework not present in the official G1 firmware. Haykuro can't release it yet because it contains watermarks that would reveal the source of the "leak" and cost someone their job. He's currently working on covering the tracks.

This is great work. But i really hate the HTC windows mobile phones. That would be cous windows mobile just is crab. This really looks nice. I was really an android fan because i jsut hated the old home screen and the button to draw up. But this is a reall big improvement and maybe it wont be the pre for me.

The 'desktop' scrolling feature is really a thing I would go for, imagine everything you use and want to see under 1 scrollable environment.

It does remind me of the Spb Mobile Shell though.

I really hope this gets implemented in Android phones without the limitations added by phone companies.

This is basically HTC doing for Android what they did for Windows Mobile with their TouchFLO 3D system. The problem is that this *probably* won't be on any "with Google" branded devices, which is what the G1 and Magic on T-Mo/Voda have been. That would be a shame.
