In regards to the issues with the websites I would question would the same thing happen if you were to use a different browser. IE Dolphin,Chrome etc. It would be interesting to see or hear about some testing and if indeed its the default browser or a phone issue.

Its Nice cause of vanilla & allways get the newest stuffs first , but Samsung did a much better job with the S2,no choppyness and lags like this. Sorry to break it down boys but it is like it is.

Probably the best review of this phone i've seen on Youtube so far. I especially liked the real world performance tests (like the multitasking one) as opposed to running synthetic benchmarks. Keep up the in-depth and thorough reviews! Good job.

I'm very interested in the browser performance issues. I personally can't believe pinch to zoom is so poor on some websites relative to say the iphone 4s or the SGS2. I tested the verge full site with all three phones but only the SGN chugged and chopped. Do you think this is something that can be fixed with a software update? I'll be receiving my phone this week but now I'm quite concerned.

Hey dude, it is not such a big problem with the browser pinch to zooming. you just selected the most hungry-for-performance Verge site. my ipod touch as an ex. downloads it for about a minute, and even mobile version of this site is so laggy there.

Did you enable "Force GPU use/acceleration" in the settings of the phone? Maybe that will fix the performance issues.

@Lonesharck I think he turned it off just for this review. This is certainly the first review iv seen that shows so many performance issue like this phone is not even a mid range phone.

@IntelligentAgency I've tried the Galaxy Nexus with forced GPU on/off. It makes no difference in core apps that are most likely already using hardware acceleration.

Also, you're seeing 'performance issues' in my review because I haven't edited them out of the video; I wanted to spend time examining them. This is more useful than just cheerleading the phone, don't you agree?

I honesty think the laggy performance is due to the fact that the phone has so many extra pixels to render. Even Opera Mobile, which is usually quite smooth even on my old galaxy s, runs slower on the galaxy nexus.
