When they started making cars they really were pieces of crap, but no with a 10 year, 100,000 mile waranty, the quality of the car can't be questioned. I own an Azera limited and it is a gorgeous car with an interior that makes everything in it's price range look second hand. My last car was an XG350. I put 100,000+ miles on it and never had any problems!!

Detroit needs to wake up. Between cars like this and the Toyota diesel truck that will be coming, we are in trouble. I know the Eastern manufacturers employ Americans, but our automotive/ industrial pride relies on more than that. Do you have an SHO? Because that does have a bad engine. I wouldn't form an opinion of the entire American auto industry solely on that car. I would put the Ford 4.6 against any gasoline engine in the world. Also, live axles are better in some ways (not handling). No CV joints to go bad, no boots, no alignments. And lastly, Americans are the car people. No one touches us when we do our best. We need to get back to that!
I think it's a nice looking car. Excellent features for a car in that price range. As for reliability, my older sister purchased an 03 Elantra, had one problem with it in almost 4 years. Nothing major though, she traded up this year to the Sonata and has had great reliabilty with that car so far as well. I like their new cars, the new sports car looks great and the Genesis is a leap forward as well. I wonder if they will ever step into the truck market?
Looks like they copied the interior of the M45, read off a 5-series and the front and off a Benz. At the end of the day however, it's still just a hyundai.

Realistically, for those in their mid 20s, myself for one, Hyundai's price tag seems very tempting over anything else, plus Hyundai car's overall workmanship has been getting better and better recently too.

Do you have an SHO? Because that does have a bad engine. I wouldn't form an opinion of the entire American auto industry solely on that car. I would put the Ford 4.6 against any gasoline engine in the world. Also, live axles are better in some ways (not handling). No CV joints to go bad, no boots, no alignments. And lastly, Americans are the car people. No one touches us when we do our best. We need to get back to that!

I think it's a nice looking car. Excellent features for a car in that price range. As for reliability, my older sister purchased an 03 Elantra, had one problem with it in almost 4 years. Nothing major though, she traded up this year to the Sonata and has had great reliabilty with that car so far as well. I like their new cars, the new sports car looks great and the Genesis is a leap forward as well. I wonder if they will ever step into the truck market?

this car has a v8 w/rwd making 368hp which is more than tha lexus gs460(342), dodge charger and chrysler 300c(340), bmw 550i(360), pontiac g8(362hp), any cadillac except tha v-series and escalades, i cant wait till it hit tha streets

It's not that they're not out there, because they are, but people are stuck in import mode since the domestic meltdown years ago. And I don't blame them, American cars were SHIT for 10 years, absolutely brutal.
I'm a huge Daimler fan, so I may be a bit biased, but the 300C is the 05 Car of the Year and the CTS is the 08 Car of the Year. That's gotta mean something??

Toyota Camry lookalike. I'm glad Hyundai are putting effort into making their cars on par with the rest of the world, but they should have chosen an original design to set them apart as a new, respectable company. However, the great improvement in engine power, cabin technology, and what is expected to be an all around better chassis to a huge step forward.

The v8 will make around 370 to 375 SAE HP. Some say that the v6 will be around 285 to 305 HP but thats conflicting a little bit.
v6 should cost at 29,995. v8 at around 34,995. This is just estimations though.

Realistically, for those in their mid 20s, myself for one, Hyundai's price tag seems very tempting over anything else, plus Hyundai car's overall workmanship has been getting better and better recently too.
Looking very forward to that Genesis Coupe to hit the market. Unless they make dramatic changes to the Genesis Coupe, I will have a new ride in 2009 spring instead of my crappy 1997 camry.
If I win the lotto I'll go for a Lotus Elise instead though... it's my dream ride XD

For Scubachink5768, The articles are saying that the V8 Genesis can be maxed out at around 40K. But even so, I don't think it will sell, unless they do something about the style for the US bound models.

Hmmm, just wonderring, is that true? I never heard of any Mercedes using a Hyundai engine. That's news to me. I am Korean, but I am also happen to be a Korean Car hater, except maybe Proto Spirra, and possibly a few exceptions, but It's like a first time I heard that a European giant like Benz is using a Hyundai engine. I heard about Ssangyong and Benz, but never a Hyundai engine in a benz. Thanx. Maybe I can learn a thing or two from you.

for all of you who are saying you will buy a lexus, remember this: a comprable lexus with this many features would cost you over 60 thousand. i have a 2006 sonata lx, fully loaded. other than having a computer adjustment, i have had 28000 miles with no worries. i'm going to upgrade to the genesis when it hits the dealership.

i own a 00' tiburon. i've heard alot about this car because of its v8 engine and RWD. i think thats pretty awesome for hyundai to do, but the car looks like the sonata and i just wouldn't buy because it looks no matter what features it has. i could get a gt mustang for probably around the same price this will be. i saw the concept art of this car and it looked awesome, but i hope the real car when it comes out doesn't look like this

WTF, it looks just like a Camry. Why doesn't Hyundai stop copying Toyota and make their own designs. In fact why don't they stop copying all the other manufacturers' designs, they take parts from Audi, Subaru, Honda and slap it all together in their own cars. Just look at the Veracruz, gee it looks very similar to a Lexus RX, lol. Hyundai has good engineering, now they need to come up with their own design language and stop copying!!!!

if they did not tell you about this car and they took it all through america for everyone to test drive, people would love it. without any "hyundai" badges, no one would know. that's the way you get people: you do a blind survey. it removes all bias. then, when you tell them what it is, they are surprised, or even mad at themselves for liking the car!!!

Hyundai's initial quality ratings are better than those of most of the US made cars......and whose fault is that. My ex has an Elantra and it's the coolest car. Way better than the shitty Neon I had.

Hyundai do have the largest automobile factory in U.S and vehicles such Sonat and Santafe have been designed in Los Angeles Hyundai Designing Institute. The Genesis will feel much like a Japanese one as it was designined in the Designing Center of Hyundai in Japan.
