Overeem vs Belfort 2, Overeem got caught nearly every time going for the knee, luckily Overeem turned and had the height to just stay out of reach. To be considered the best P4P or in the HW, in my opinion he should fight the top 5 HWs of todays division, but I doubt that will ever happen now that he lost to Werdum and Silva.

The best ground and pounder in probably history is tito ortiz. Fedor is good at GNP but once again he's so wild, I believe if they fought now since Fedor is not older and has lost some of that explosive movement he used to escape the subs he'd definitely get subbed.

I've seen all the fights between the two. And I agree Fedor did a good job but it becomes alot easier when you opponent's strategy is to lay on his back and try to submit you, when your opponent is one dimensional. Not taking away anything from Fedor.

Let's look at anderson silva and GSp's record compared to Fedor. Their records are far superior. And I'm not dissing Rogers, but if you look at his record he only really has only 2 quality wins. By your logic he's a top 5 heavy weight.

Well, I really dont but the analyzing of the flying knee. First of all, Fedor was never in danger. AA fought really good, but fedor was all the time waiting for AA to make a mistake. Fedor was so calm after AA gave him the frontkick, and was really focused on his punch-you can see that in the slowmotion. Even Bas Rutten has said so. Arlovski was not winning the fight. There is a thread on Sherdog that shows ever exchange in slow motion and Fedor ducked and slipped every punch by Arlovski. The only punch that landed in the fight was the one knocking Arlovski the fuck out.

I would also like to see Fedor fight Anderson Silva, the size difference between them is not too big even though they compete two weight classes apart. Fedor is 6'0" 230 lbs, Anderson is 6'2" 215 lbs; and take into account that Anderson can always build up more muscle. A fight at a catch weight of 215 lbs sounds good to me.

Fedor is way too much for Silva. Silva's striking is prettier, it's more 'technical', but Fedor is too explosive. Fedor's too strong, too vicious, too conditioned, and his grappling is much better. Anderson is lunch for Fedor.

The UFC is looking for a new face of the organization since chuck is done. The two people at the top of the list in my opinion are GSP and Rampage Jackson.

Fedor is already a legend and the greatest heavyweight on the planet. Lesnar is good but doesnt have the ability to last 5 rounds. He's just too big. A Fedor victory would only solidify his place as the best.

I think that BJ should fight at 170 for about a year if he wants to fight GSP again. He will get destroyed otherwise..aganin. I think that BJ is a better fighter technically but GSP is a beast when it comes to athleticism. And I hate BJs cockiness when it comes to these fights. He is better in person.

Overeem vs Belfort 2, Overeem got caught nearly every time going for the knee, luckily Overeem turned and had the height to just stay out of reach. To be considered the best P4P or in the HW, in my opinion he should fight the top 5 HWs of todays division, but I doubt that will ever happen now that he lost to Werdum and Silva.

The best ground and pounder in probably history is tito ortiz. Fedor is good at GNP but once again he's so wild, I believe if they fought now since Fedor is not older and has lost some of that explosive movement he used to escape the subs he'd definitely get subbed.
If throwing wild punches is revolutionizing GNP then fine he has.

I've seen all the fights between the two. And I agree Fedor did a good job but it becomes alot easier when you opponent's strategy is to lay on his back and try to submit you, when your opponent is one dimensional. Not taking away anything from Fedor.

Lesnar dominated the Mir fight until Mir got a lucky knee bar, in the rematch he gained experience and easily defended it. Against likely the best HW BJJ guy. Fedor constantly is out of position, throwing wild punches.
Silva, St pierre, Penn just to name a few have beaten more top 10 fighters, in fact the list goes on, tons of guy shave beaten more top 10 fighters. So by that it is at least decided he's not P4P the best in the world. An argument can be made about the HW division but not world.

Dude rogers was too worried about punching and I said if he saw it coming, like thousands of people did he would of moved to avoid it and could have continued his ground and pound.

Dos santos trains BJJ with Noguira, He's so good at stand up he never needs to go to the ground.
Silva has solid wrestling and take down defense. ANd he'e a BJJ master off his back.
I'm not hard on fedor's boxing alone. He's outclassed some average opponents and everyone's flipping out over it. Heath Herring and for instance.
Overall he's wild, and technically unsound. But by no means is he one of the best mixed martial artist of all time.

Yes good fighters have bad outings but he almost got finished. If Rogers had beat Fedor would he have been #1 in the world then. He looked old his last fight and relied on the big shots way too much. If rogers had a proper gameplan and pushed fedor against the cafe like he did the first round he would of probably won.

Well, I really dont but the analyzing of the flying knee. First of all, Fedor was never in danger. AA fought really good, but fedor was all the time waiting for AA to make a mistake. Fedor was so calm after AA gave him the frontkick, and was really focused on his punch-you can see that in the slowmotion. Even Bas Rutten has said so. Actually I dont think any of AA`s punches landed. To say you thought the fight was near the end is just so wrong. You think Fedors KO on Rogers was lucky as well?:)

Arlovski was not winning the fight. There is a thread on Sherdog that shows ever exchange in slow motion and Fedor ducked and slipped every punch by Arlovski. The only punch that landed in the fight was the one knocking Arlovski the fuck out.

Fedor is the best HW of all time. The main deal is that Dana has the ear of the casual fans, and is a business man first, and foremost, so he is going to try and promote his guys over Fedor. Every fighters "game plan" is working until they lose. Then it becomes "If they hadnt done this."
Fact is, if a fighter has a plan and makes a mistake or gets caught, chances are he would have done it sooner of later. Seeing a "wonded" Fedor, why wouldnt you go for a big basting attack if you really "think" you're dominating him. AA plan was lacking one thing... Respect for Fedors power. Nothing he did in that fit matters because he lost and would have lost 50 other ways if he hadnt jumped.

I would also like to see Fedor fight Anderson Silva, the size difference between them is not too big even though they compete two weight classes apart. Fedor is 6'0" 230 lbs, Anderson is 6'2" 215 lbs; and take into account that Anderson can always build up more muscle. A fight at a catch weight of 215 lbs sounds good to me.

Fedor is way too much for Silva. Silva's striking is prettier, it's more 'technical', but Fedor is too explosive. Fedor's too strong, too vicious, too conditioned, and his grappling is much better. Anderson is lunch for Fedor.

agreed when fedor was coming off the ropes....his eyes were solely looking dead on at arlovski....fedor saw his target well in advance....you can see his right hand ball up into a fist well before arlovski comes in...

machida is very talented but somewhat boring his last fight was entertaining but that because thiago silva did exactly what you shouldn't do against machida... but they key fact to why machida isn't getting a title shot one work: MARKETABILITY. The UFC is looking for a new face of the organization since chuck is done. The two people at the top of the list in my opinion are GSP and Rampage Jackson.

100% agree with your analysis of the fedor-arlovski fight. it looked to me like fedor came out of the corner hands dropped like the previous kick winded him, baiting arlovski into an overly aggressive move. then as fedor said in the post-fight when arlovski presented the opportunity he pulled the trigger automatically. that's fedor.

I think that BJ should fight at 170 for about a year if he wants to fight GSP again. He will get destroyed otherwise..aganin.
