I've studied briefly with I Nyoman Wenten, the Balinese music professor at Cal Arts. According to him, young people in Bali want nothing to do with Gamelan and he couldn't be happier that it's surviving through the interest of Westerners.

Hi critique. I've noticed u dissing alot of other perceived "faults" in Indonesian and Filipino traditional stuff. My assumption is that you are from either of these backgrounds.
