This song makes me cry every time i listen to it, it reminds me when i was younger and wanted to commit suicide and even a simple thing like a hug from my mom made me feel so much better.
I recently moved three hours away from my family for college to a town where all the girls are so tan and skinny and I don't know anyone. I've never been able to wear a pair of shorts without crying in the mirror. I quit a job that I loved to come here. I'm on a two year waiting list for a phlebotomy course that I've been dreaming of taking my whole life. I have no job. No money. I feel like I don't belong and I can't go home. It's 3 am and I'm not right.

Blue Octobers songs touch my heart in a way no other bands songs have. Songs don't usually make me cry, but almost always tear up when I listen to their music. Its just like you can feel the raw emotion coming through your speakers, Justin just writes with such a way that nothing is sugar coated. No cover ups, no bullshit. Justin Furstenfeld could quite possibly be the greatest poet of this generation. Songs like this and sorry hearts are just a couple of examples of his genius. He'll be viewed as such in 25 years, pure poetic genius.

I don't know "why" he wrote it specifically, but I know he wrote it when he was about 13 or 14 and that it was a day he felt he couldn't go on and he figured "life's not for everyone".....I hope that this helps.
yea in an interview he said something along the lines of he always shared his songs with his mother first and this song was a confession to her that he was going thur a hard time
And to think Justin wrote this at age 14... He's amazing and living proof that anyone who feels like this can indeed get by to live a great life when they're older, including sucess and a great family. :)

I find it hard to imagine being this depressed, but this song makes me feel a lot of empathy for people who are. Big fan.
(Although I think a lot of people nowadays use the term depression when they just feel a bit down, which is pretty stupid and self centered.)

This song is so sad. Amazingly writen and sung. There's so much emotion in it that it's incredible! I can feel it in my heart evertime I hear this song. It's one of my favorites by Blue October.

I don't know "why" he wrote it specifically, but I know he wrote it when he was about 13 or 14 and that it was a day he felt he couldn't go on and he figured "life's not for everyone".....I hope that this helps.
