According to specs the 300zx should beat the Max. Same engine but the ZX has bigger heads and three throttle bodys. But for some reason the 4th gen Maxs jus dominate. I have a 95 with only an intake and dominated a brand new RSX, a 95 Teg among others
until U learn that in 95 the 5spd SE was the second fastest car in the Nissan Stable behind only the 5spd TT 300zx, that Maxima could actually stomp a Turbo auto 300zx, it sounds crazy but its true
lol, no friggin way man. Maximas arent that fast man, they are BARELY quick. I actually felt the same way about a maxima like you once... turns out i was wrong. 5 spd maxima couldnt even beat my late auto v6 firebird... in 0-60 run
but facts are facts look up the old reviews even the people reviewing the car couldnt believe it even today a 4th gen SE is still pretty quick a 6.6 0-60 time and a 15.2 1/4 mile time most newer cars still struggle to run those kinds of times
i dont know man, dont always believe the internet. My maxima made 8 secs 0-60. I actually have a vid on my cellphone. The clutch is a little slipping but it has no major effect on performance. I have done the run from 2000 rpm twice while entering the freeway. I was so dissapointed... My previous 2000 v6 firebird auto made 7 secs 0-60...
5spd Maxs are a little tricky to launch, have get around the wheel spin and try not to get wheel hop, u might also be having knock sensor problems mine will still do atmost a 7
Well it does have 151K on it and is bone stock. But i will post that 0-60 vid when i find a usb cable from my cellphone to transfer it to my computer...
P.S. it did not have any wheel spin, i just started off smoothly...
no way to get it to 60 faster? there is a million things that affect your 0-60 times and if your a man and drive a stick shift then maybe you cant shift good. I personally have timed my 96 maxima se 5spd to a 0-60 time of just 6.7 seconds and can stay side by side with my friends modded integra gsr.
ive driven stick long enough to shift good... im saying, maxima just wont pull off that type of time... i had a 95 5 spd maxima that could do low 7 secs, but not 6.5 range... unless ur full bolt on than it would be more believable...
All i have is a cai and upgraded plugs aside from that its stock and my car has ran premium from the day it was bought doesnt make too much of a difference but still counts.

rsx arent anything special unless they are modded. A stock type-s should lose to a stock 300z na

WOW what do you have in that maxima?

Probably two solid rocket boosters... No way that can happen, not even racing a NA 300zx...

you're right on that. I own a 95 maxima 5spd stock and have to say that it's quick but it's nothing to compare with a 300 zx...

YOUREA BAD DRIVER my maxima could pull 0-60 in 6 seconds and 1/4 mile in 15 secs..
Maximas are actually alot faster than NA 300zx and AUTOMATIC turbo 300zx..
Trust dude even NISSAN ADMITS IT!
