make a version that runs off a six volt battrey that can hold about four duck decoys for under a hundred bucks and ill buy one and i bet a lot of other people would too.
Apparently you are not a serious duck hunter if you thought carrying a car battery to your hole would greatly improve your chances of killing a limit you'd carry 2 of em. Nice looking rig I don't believe it would work in the places I hunt but if it would I'd have 1.
A CAR BATTERY!!!!!!!!! who in the hell wants to carry a car battery into the marsh! please tell me i miss herd. do you realize how heavy that is. who would carry that into the marsh i would love to meat some one who is willing to pack that in.
@dirtbikerace690 The line is a big loop, the controller tells the pully which way to go and in which direction. For example, set it to run 15 seconds slow in one direction, pause for 10 seconds, then reverse in other direction for 15 seconds. You use controller to set time of pull and speed. It then does the rest hands free. May seem complicated, but all you are doing is setting 3 poles, attaching line and decoys, your done. Thanks for the comment!
@dirtbikerace690 If you notice in the very beginning, one of the guys says it will run for 5 days straight on a single car battery. What he's basically saying, is that they hunt on private land, and don't have to worry about setting it up in the dark because they can set it up during the day, and leave it out with their entire spread. That way you just bring a charged up car battery with you every few days. This system is a little impractical for hunting on public land.
Im assuming that you can put your dekes on all 3 sides. but say after you have run your line and you have some left over, do you just cut the excess off and then connect to the spreader or do you have to reposition your pulleys until you dont have any line left.
@dougc2004 Reposition your poles to get the slack out. The line is not cut, you set the three poles, run the line, then readjust one pole to get the slack out. Thanks
Looks complicated, I have killed plenty of ducks without this type of equipment and will continue to do so. Yet it is interesting and looks fun to use!
Instead of using swivels you should switch over to those big trotline clips. You would be able to setup and disasemble quicker and in my experience messing with a swivel with cold hands is not fun.
I like your system Ronnie. Great invention! While everyone else says they can build one like it ...but never do...I'll buy one and add to my Pulsators to help kill more ducks on the Middle Fork of the Obion!!! ...if we ever thaw out!
wow, that system is realy nice, im sure at first it prob would take some time to set up, but speed of set up would come with practice like anything else. guess this answers my question on another one of their vids, they are not radio controlled lol, very nice.
Stuff like this is a pain.... A good duck hunter can kill his limit with a dozen 10 year old decoys....... I'd have to get to the blind 3 hours early to set up and guess what thats against the regs. Can't be set up more than 2 hours before shooting hours.
Dont know where you hunt bud but here i can set up the day before if i want and this thing takes no more than 15 min to set up. i personally own one and they are awesome. Well worth the money just to have added movement in the decoys. A club down the road from us has 3.
you must supply decoys(4 to 6) and battery. You get everything else( motor drive with cord, controller box, cords, tethers to decoys, pullies, stakes, battery terminals, directions, etc) thanks
ohh, sounds like a pretty good deal, especially since i have just bought a dozen decoys a few weeks ago, and im sure i have lots of batteries. is this you in the video hunting?
very nice!!!!

@1987tmd Ronnie Capps and friends, Reelfoot Lake Duck hunting and Pro Crappie fishing fame, and all around good guys. Thanks!

Gotta like that setup. I'm going to need more swivels in my hunting gear than I have in my fishing tackle box! lol
That seems like a lot to do in the dark though buddy.

Im still a little unclear on how the line runs and attaches to the motor.
Tenndukhnter 1 year ago
@Tenndukhnter Line runs in a triangle between 3 poles, pole closest to blind has motor on it. 6 decoys swim on line between to distant poles. thanks
