I would love to see what this game would look like if remade today. I thought it was awesome when it was new. It made me chuckle they put the adult entertainment in, and through it all, Kayl's face was totally motionless and free of emotion!
A great game, but the trailer made no mention of David Bowie songs or that a "Bowie skin" was used for one of the characters in the game. That was a big draw for me. The game's opening credits (with the Bowie song "New Angels of Promise" and the substitution of "Omikron" for the lyric "suspicious minds") gives a totally different atmosphere. Look for it on YouTube.
this was a cool game! but i like the beginning in the future noir city more than the mid - end game... the final stage enemy was too hard for me - i never see the ending screen :(
Now that you mention it - yes! And that's what makes retro PC games so great! It's like in a 90's adventure game, an imp, running up stairs, pauses to take a breather and then carries on. In any modern game that imp would just run to the top of the stairs and not get out of breath. That's why modern games do not immerse as much as these classics!
Huh? No, there's no sound of any splatter. This setting must be like in JUDGE DREDD (comics and RPG) where pedestrians time their walking to the millisecond, and Slow Driving is a traffic offense. If you are nervous and do 95 in a minimum 100 zone, you confuse the pedestrians and they time their move thinking you'll already pass them when in fact you are still approaching. Slow Driving accounts for massive pedestrian fatalities in the future!
Notice the little giggle by the commercial announcer as the video screen is going off camera? IT BEGINS! Total braindeath. But that's just perfect for the soul-sucking social environment of OMIKRON!
Loved how you could visit shops.. eat and just sit around and stuff, made it really really freedom oriented, i mean even compared to GTA 4 today which just seems so rushed.
the atmosphere was so surreal...i didnt like the zombie bit and the morgue at the time, and i got pissed off that you couldnt hear the characters voice xD
but still...one of the best games i ever played ^^
oh no way! guess i chose the right console to go with. loved omikron. definitely one of my top 3 favorite games for dreamcast. wonder if 2 will be as good or hopefully better than 1. they also have a game called heavy rain coming out for the ps3, the demo video looked pretty awesome.
I loved this game's story and the freedom of it was quite cool as well. This game would definitely be an amazing title to have updated. Any console would be great with this game. I wonder how the Wii would do with this game since that is what I own.
This game was awesome for it's time. I would like to see a sequel for it. Game mechanics similar to elder scrolls 4 would be perfect for Omikron 2...Nice cgi stripper. The ones in the actual game looked like four triangles.
Amazing game however has anyone else had trouble killing Astaroth? I played the game fully through twice to get stuck at the end, hes frikin crazy the more you shoot him the faster he hops around.
The game itself is a masterpiece of 1999 and beyond.
I played the game for about a year after which finally I finished it.
The story is so deep that you get totally involved in it,the shooting parts are always epic, scaring the hell out of you,and the fights are always a challenge.
Well,I can't wait for 2009,when Omikron 2 : Karma,will be released.
I loved this game. Too bad it's somwhat unknown and underrated. I heard Quantic Dream is planning (or already started?) developing Omikron 2 after they finished Fahrenheit? I'm really looking forward to that game.
i love this game !!!! j' adore ce jeu , il est trop exitant , je pourrais ne pas arreter d' y jouer sa me generais pas !!!! non mais serieu c' est le meilleurs jeu video auquel j' ai jamais jouer !
MAN i have the game but when i started playing i got scared! i'm superstitious (can't spell) and i'm afraid if i die in the game my soul will be taken out!! lmao!! so i ask my cousin to play while i watch!! but i still love the game!! just don't have the guts to play!
It's definitely one of the best games I ever played IMO. I feel it was an awesome game and a underrated one as well. The music was awesome in it too since I'm kinda of a fan of David Bowie. Awesome game that deserved all of it's praise.
Damn man you are so correct i got fucked so many times trying to play that game finally i thought i was goin good the i got stuck in this library in the city that looks like venice almost i was so mad cause i had to do something with a light switch and i didnt know what.
Well the first bit I got stuck with was ****SPOILER**** putting the sleeping pills in the coffee! First time around I just gave her a regular coffee - where the hell am I supposed to go after that?! Nowhere! ha!
I think this game should be created into a movie. Jus sayin. That would be quite epic.

Damn! this game had many genres all in one: beat em up, fps, free roam, puzzles and adventure.
They don't make games like these anymore...I hope Deus Ex 3 will give me the same feeling this game gave me, but I doubt it.....
I pray for The nomad soul 2 to come soon.

This game was underrated and not too many played it when it came out.
It really deserves a lot of attention because of how immersive it is.

@Karekristensson I played the PC version, I still have it somewhere.

Oddball game but strangely immersive and atmospheric.
This intro video has always been a favourite, especially in the transition between the stripper and the snowy wastes.

Its only downfall was probably the fact that a walk-through was pretty much a requirement!
