I'm gonna post a video response to this later, cause I have a story of a guy I still talk to, that I met in college. He was kind of my REAL first time... even though he wasn't my first.
the nearest i have to that was with a guy who i think was curious but i was still not comfy being gay at the time. years later i had a huge crush on a manager who is uber hot and it turned out he is gay/bi just not into me and i was right (yes i was) about his build. (yes gutter).
Okay, so I am a bisexual female and yes this has happened to me, although it was the opposite way around. I came out to my best friend (a girl) about being bisexual and her first reaction was "Oh my god, you're not going to kiss me are you?" It would be great to find out if anyone else has had this same experience because right now I kind of feel alone in this one. By the way, I know plenty of Greek guys...who happen to live in, you guessed it "the City of Four seasons"
It's unfortunate that you're not open-minded enough to accept & perhaps act on some of the advances made by straight men. It's obvious they've come to you because they're comfortable with you, But then you're unable to consider the possibility of friendly sexual exploration, w/o emotional complications. If you met a particular woman that you're attracted to & would like to explore with sexually, then expressed your desire, but were rejected because you were 'gay' how would you feel about it?
Well..I actually had a big crush on an assistant manager. He was straight..younger than me..and someone I hung out with constantly! It made it tough to be around him..and I never told him how I felt, just remained greatful to have such an awesome friend who always had my back and treated me the way we should treat everyone. Damn Motorcycles...Damn Florida Elderly drivers! R.I.P. buddy..I miss you.
I've never had a relationship with anyone, or sex or whatever. But this one time a guy who is transsexual and just opening up about it, wanted to fool around, and I wasn't open to it. I definitely didn't want my first time to be someone else's fooling around. It's also hard because that one instance is the only time someone's been interested in me. Really is something of a mindfuck, as if I didn't have enough hangups already. :(
that same thing happened to me! at school there's this kid whom says he's straight and has a gf, but would send me messages on facebook asking me questions about being with guys and if i would wanna mess with him. i was always resistent cause i was lookin for something more and i'm not someone that he could just experiment on.
So at my workplace there these two straight guys who claim I am their husband (one works the night shift, the other the morning shift). Anyway, they call me baby, honey, sweetie (all in Spanish). The little gay boy inside me loves the attention. But sadly it is all fun and games. =) But I am glad they are comfortable enough to make jokes and have a little fun.
Well, I did have a huge crush on a (straight) coworker. It got to the point where I couldn't find sleep, even though I knew from the start I had nothing to expect, so I eventually told him. Lucky me, he adressed the issue seriously. No awkwardness since then, we're fine and I'm slowly letting it go =)
I enjoy your videos because you always pick topics that can "flow" whatever that means lol. I think I can see me liking Greek guys too haha, hairiness is always a plus. I've never had a crush on someone I worked with but with people that came into my work a lot, my friends usually have the better stories anyway... =[
@Grotomode Nah just not Greeks, Europeans and Americans for some reason. Americans for their Brass personalities and Europeans for their air of something I can't put my finger on. Confidence?
@warlokyx Lots of European immigrants to Melbourne in the 50s - 80s. We have a strong cafe and restaurant culture to be thankful for and people from Melbourne are known to be Coffee snobs because of it. I love our cafe culture. We catch up for Coffee a lot.
I did not have that happen yet un less u call that a guy did not like me when I was in high school in my class he then started liking me but that stuff that happen 2 u did not happen yet. I thought u had a boyfriend why rr u having crushes if I had a boyfriend I would not look @ no1 but him. I also want a relationship 2:-)
... DANG! I'm just going through this situation right now and it does really suck. One of my closest friends who was straight had been flirty with me all through my first semester. It wasn't anything big, but enough to make me a bit confused. NOW, he came back from holiday ready broken up with his girlfriend and ready to experiment with guys. I never really had feelings for hi till he did kiss me which made me kind of ponder our relationship, but I want something serious... Sucks but I digress
High school, there was this one kid, who i thought was straight. But through out the year, he kept sending mix signals.. mostly about him wanting to get into my pants. I didnt notice at 1st cause I wasnt even sure. And i did have a little crush on him. And one time, he sort of came on to me and well, you know high school, we made out/having a little fun in the restroom. twice through the week. then when i sort of want to date him... well, guess what, he denied. Saying he like girls more than guy
I used to have that same kinda thing going on with a gay guy I worked with. We all messed with him and he messed with us. It was quite fun. Love to have one of those pics.
yep, lived that experience, quite a ouch-experience.. but not too damaging, as I don't lose myself easily, and I still had fun (would've liked it to go further on a personal level though).. but I had some guys discover themselves through/with me, and then wander of into their personal journey - I empathize with that, 'we' would never have a chance anyway with all their drama
never lived it in a work situation, and 4 times? man, I'd start wondering if it's something I attract to myself..
@roelvanacker I think it may be because we mess with the idea of straight and gay you know? Breaking down the stereotypes and making it okay to be something that they never thought was possible?
Those situations you are describing (the 'straight' people coming on to you) don't sound like fun. I hope I don't ever get much of that because you and your job could be put at risk. It seems very selfish on their part, but I suppose they have no idea of this. Never had a job so never had a crush at work, never had a crush at uni or anything either. Guess there's just not that many attractive men in my life right now hehe
I've had the experience with the "straight" friend, but I think I was young and dumb at the time. I wasn't able to foresee the possible consequences (or I didn't want to). Ultimately we went "there" and it really did ruin the friendship. It even went as far as the straight friend making up stories to our mutual friends about me being the one that had propositioned him. It got messy , to say the least.
Apparently I don't come off gay; it usually comes out naturally in conversation. When I befriend a straight guy, they become very interested in me and very protective. And when my sexuality comes up they kind of become more physical with me, in an affectionate kind of way. Then they always set up a "hangout" with just us two and drinks, and later an attempted kiss or confession or I can tell they have something they want to say but just can't. It sucks because they are usually great guys.
@BabywithaMustache It's so confusing when that happens and then they stop talking to you for some reason and you wonder what happens. Sucks big time, without the sucking
@ExplorationB haha! Agreed. It's worse when you find out that after trying to have gay "experience" with you, they go back to girls. You want to say something but then realize it's not your place to get involved. Thanks for the reply!
I have had a similar problem, mine would be after talking to some from for about an hour or so, they would say that they think that they love me, most of this does occur with chatting with people online. It's weird but at the same time, I find it a little flattery.
@ilovemusicWIKA Yeah I feel confliction. Face to face it just kills a moment when you are just chilling out and you wonder why they initially liked you and if it was just cause you were gay. I'm over that now though. ha ha
@jpofgs1 Office jobs, well one was a retail job. OMG I just remembered another one. Make that 5. That guy was a psycho though - he started a rumour that we slept together to make his girlfriend jealous.
Does it surprise you? You are irresistible! :D Im starting to learn the greek language! Would it help my case with you? ;-)
Something like that happened to me, but in the university, not at work. It was known that "he" was straight and then one day when everyone (except him and me) skipped class we went for a walk and told me he liked me in a special way. I was really surprised! Too bad we lasted 2 weeks, he had many family problems and the secrecy was hard. :S
Yeah, I've been in that position before. It was rough afterward, but I pulled through. For some weird reason, I was the guy people came to for advice on relationships or sex (usually sex). It was strange, because I had assumed before that they were already knowledgeable about these kinds of things. The fact that they weren't, as it turned out, threw me, so the conversations could get awkward after a while.
@ExplorationB Honestly, I've thought about it, but I wasn't sure anyone would watch them. If you really think I would make a good YouTube advice-giver, though....
Oh! Just to give an example, I actually had to explain to the girlfriend of a buddy of mine what the cervix is, and how it relates to sexual pleasure. She honestly did not know what it was. After I told her, she started to walk off, then kinda glanced at her boyfriend as if thinking, "So that's what that feeling is."
Well as far as work goes,i've only worked randomly cleaning cars, there really wasn't much interaction XD
But your current job seems nice, glad to hear that you have a good time, since most people at work places, look like they have woken up on the wrong side of the bed =P
I find it so puzzling when people say "they are still trying to figure themselves out?" I knew I was gay when I was a little kid. One time..a woman that I work with-her husband who knew I was gay..started giving me a back rub and pinching my butt!! (Can't blame the poor guy-I have a nice butt! lol) It was very uncomfortable!!
I have experienced all this way to much...I am actually planning a vid about it this month. One was even married and just wanted to experiment. I told him we are friends...nothing more and it just not gonna happen.
well if you like Greek men then i guess you kinda would like your Turkish colleague 'cus turks and greeks look kinda the same :P(but don't tell him this, he might get insulted as Greeks and Turks never got along:/)
FYI Greek people are actually REALLY white the reason why there are a lot of Greek people /w dark skincolor is the huge amount of middle-eastern immigrants in the country so most of greek people aren't usually from completely Greek descent :D I'm Greek that's why I know this stuff :D
@warlokyx Lets go out for dinner some time ;-) I like middle easterns too. ;-) The majority of guys i have dated have been mainly Eastern European though.
I had an unspoken attraction to a young guy at work years ago. he was a singer & guitarist in hard rock band. Seemed like he liked me too, but never said anything, just non verbal clues. He seemed responsive & friendly. Until i was horrified when he would attempt to out me in work while around many ppl with bad gay jokes, which he would include me in. This is what happens when self acceptance meets self hate & discover they cant dance.
@ExplorationB he never was a "friend", but we had lotsa eye contact, good conversations. he seemed to be pretty open minded. No doubt He knew what i wanted. mixed signals are a good sign of self hate
Good subject not talked about often... Guys who discover their gay sexuality while working with someone theyre attracted to is awkward in the extreme, cuz guys dont know how to deal with those feelings well, or express thier feeling for another guy. sexuality is definitely on a sliding scale like Dr kinsey said.
they get kind of aggressive because they immediately assume that because you're gay you will fool around with them and be their "experiment" but when you don't, it's like suddenly their whole world opens up and they realize, wait, gay is more than just sex? What?
I had a friend at work who I would do the exact same thing with. He's very straight but we kept an on going faux affair going. It was hilarious. Especially how graphic we would get. If we had an HR department at my work we'd probably be fired. Sadly, he quit and moved away so I only hear from him every once in awhile. So, the fun part of my job is kind of gone. The new guys here probably wouldn't be as open to that kind of humor.
@brentbraniff Yeah we talk about one of the guys getting drunk and making out with one of the asian dudes cause he likes asians and we laugh so much we cry. :-)
How absolutely fantastic that you can have an open and fun relationship with people at work. Hearing your story just makes me wish that more of the world could feel as comfortable about themselves and about others. This video has brightened my day. I can smile all day just imagining the conversations. Makes work so much more fun. Great video.
My current roommate in college sort of makes weird advances at me, he knows I'm gay. Then later on in the year, he came out to me as bisexual.

As for crushes at work, I've actually always had the horrible habit of... cumming wear I earn... in a matter of overly literal speaking :D
Can't say I recommend it, then again I can't say I've ever been able to avoid it. If you work a lot it's just kind of what happens.
And I'd definitely like a photo, where to I get one of those?

@sleekcartim wow thats tough. I hope he wasn't a friend for long
ExplorationB 1 month ago
@ExplorationB he never was a "friend", but we had lotsa eye contact, good conversations. he seemed to be pretty open minded. No doubt He knew what i wanted. mixed signals are a good sign of self hate

Good subject not talked about often... Guys who discover their gay sexuality while working with someone theyre attracted to is awkward in the extreme, cuz guys dont know how to deal with those feelings well, or express thier feeling for another guy. sexuality is definitely on a sliding scale like Dr kinsey said.
sleekcartim 1 month ago
they get kind of aggressive because they immediately assume that because you're gay you will fool around with them and be their "experiment" but when you don't, it's like suddenly their whole world opens up and they realize, wait, gay is more than just sex?

I think some of the guys who play around while finding themselves don't realize the pain it can cause.

@SugarInHisBlood Totally. That is seriously quite a good point, and to be honest I might have also caused pain in the past.
