@MrVPdrummer Merci! C'était y'a plus d'un an j'ai l'air d'une débile sur cette vidéo! Avec la batterie faut pas lacher l'affaire. Y'a des moment où tu vas sentir que t'y arrive pas mais continues à jouer et ca va venir :) Entraine toi régulièrement :)

Pour ce morceau.. Alors franchement à par le fait de bien faire attention à la structure... Je sais pas trop quoi dire. J'ai même pas respecté le vrai rythme lol. Enfin écoute le, joue le comme tu l'sens travaille la fluidité pour tenir le tempo :)

Hey! hahaha. Thank you =) On that vid i had been playing for less than 2 years i think. And i got my first cymbals like 2 weeks before, so that was one of the first times i was covering a song. Before that i only played 30mins a week for my drum lesson at a music school. I'm so ashamed of that video... maybe you should take a look at the newest ones lol. Thanks for commenting ! :)

Oh, definitely not metal! We are starting a family band in which we will do country, rock, classic rock, blues, pop and hmmm...probably some other stuff as well. So, cymbal line that doesn't sound entry level and will make even the semi pros say, "well, at least their cymbals sounds good." lol

The budget is somewhere in the middle, which is why I was considering the the Sabian xs20's or maybe the Paiste Alpha mediums. (Or Paiste 2002's)

Any more help would be appreciated. Cheers.

@chshamus3xw Okay i know what you mean. XS20's are okay, the brillant (new) ones are much much better, and don't sound like entry level. If you still think about the Paiste Alphas, you should try the mediums, and compare it to the thin and rock, and look at the difference of the sound. I liked the thin better. You said you'd play some blues, so don't buy some "rock" cymbals anyway. Paiste 2002's are excellent, but more expensive ! Their sound is really good.

@chshamus3xw Hello there ! Thanks a lot. About the Paiste Alphas, yes i've already tried them. Are you like a metal drummer ? What genres do you play ? I didn't like the Alphas because they sound waaay too dark for me, and i better have cymbals which sound good for several kinds of music, from jazz, latino beats, to rock, RnB.... You should try different kinds of cymbals and take the ones you like the most. Don't buy a cymbal just for the black color or fun design ;D

I do have a teacher, but it's a national music academy teacher, so when i go to the music school, i leanr things like technical fills ("binary", "ternary" fills, breaks and so on...), only the boring things... like now he teachs me Latino Samba fills.

He doesn't teach me anything for my covers. I learn everything by ear.

Ma batterie, c'est une Pearl FX fusion (le bas de gamme de chez Pearl, mais bon, c'est pas trop mal), mes cymbales c'est des Sabian XS20 : Charley 14", Ride 20", et Crash 16".

Et ouais, Remo pinstripe pour les tom, et Remo ambassador pour la caisse clair.

J'compte pas changer la peau de la grosse caisse tout de suite, j'préfère m'acheter des nouvelles cymbales d'abord :)

Hi Chloe, nice cover you have here.

noticed you asked for ways to progress...

first of all, some changes to your kit may help, they will often feel wrong at first, but give it time and you will ntice the difference.

for example, bringing the toms in, and raising the snare.

and really the only way to truely progress is to delve into other genres of music, you can only go so far with pop/rock.

also the usual play to a metronome lol, but i'm sure you have heard that one.
