@Colton5555 Yes its a bored out 5.9L Its pulling nothing right now, the engine is currently torn down and in the machine shop. When all these vids were shot, the engine was evidentally totally screwed up. Should have been putting out 500 HP and was only putting down 380ish.

I have a 95 sport 1500 with a 5.9 but it got hot (due to a clogged catalytic converter) and cracked both of the heads. So i got a new motor put in. Come to find out the old motor had a holley throttle body. but the idiot who owned it b4 me still had the factory spark plugs and the truck has 154000 miles on it.

idk man i ain't had a prob. yet with the 5.2 except my timing chain cover gasket started leakin' anti-freeze. i want ur single cab dodg eman it's sick lookin'. i just put a hypertech max energy on mine and a k&n fipk it's quite a bitquicker, but then i put the trick flow tbs on it and it'll get up and go. wish i had ur motor.

You need to buy a 5.9L and rebuild it from the ground up. :)

I had the 5.2L before I got my 5.9L and the 5.9L IMO is a MUCH better engine. I have yet to have issues with the motor.

I went through 3 5.2L motors :-/

You obviuosly know nothing about these motors from from 92-03 the heads for the 5.9 and 5.2 are the exact same, the blocks are completely different internally, external the same. The 5.9 has larger main journals then the 5.2. Stroke is different, ect...

360= 4.0x3.58

318= 3.91x3.31

i know about these engines, i have just read something different. i knew the stroke was different but i thought the magnum ones from 93-02 had the same block with different heads?

If you know about these engines you would know that your saying is wrong. 93-02 Magnum Heads for the 5.2 and 5.9 are 100% the same and interchangable, the blocks are diffrent, the 5.9 is not just a bored out version of a 5.2 otherwise people would make 408s from a 5.2 block, but they dont they use 5.9s due to the bore restrictions on the 5.2. If you want to teach yourself a bit more about these motors i recommend buying: How to build your mopar magnum v8, how to modify your mopar magnum v8. and.

@gund3rt i guess its possible but a 4.7 is only like 290c.i. but the 5.2 iss the same block as the 5.9 360c.i. which is what ppl normally upsize to a 408. but the 5.2 is balanced, the 5.9 is not

Hey man, I got a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 318. Here in February I'm gettin' a set of Headman LT Headers, AirRaid TBS and a K*N Cold Air Intake. Could you tell me what kind of cam and lifters and all that would give me a good lopey sound?

Throw the TBS away its a waste of money and time. As for the cam, go with something that has big lift, decent overlap, and an LSA about 112 degrees.  This cam is a KRC 224X cam, but I have Ross forged 12.3CR pistons too which add to the crackle.

I'd have to look up what differences do what I know that different primary tube diameters, lengths, and collector volumes all move the power band. Some increase HP, some increase Torque. Us common folk dont have the money to build up 5 different engine configurations so we have to rely on internet research to hope for the best combo of parts, which is what I would suggest to you. I only got the ones I did because I got a hell of a deal on them LOL.

Meh, truck had been setting for a year or so before I dropped that engine in, and before that there had been ALOT of partying in that truck, beer stains everywhere on the carpets lol. I dont give a shit what the carpet looks like I have a brand new carpet and floormats to go in it still in the original box setting in the back seat.

None lol. It's essentially open header, I did had some thrush header mufflers to it but those might as well be straight pipes, they dump right even with the trans tailshaft lol.

Those I got from NR Auto back in 2000. Not sure if they are still around. There are many many other companies making way cooler guages now, These werea among the first made back when guages had just started being a trick mod. Now they're everewhere. I like the Indiglo guages myself.
