3:08--yeah, it's funny they included that little "disclaimer" in the trailers back then (I think the same line was used in the other trailers for the 1972 & 1973 "Shaft" sequels). A kid in a theater back in '71 could watch this trailer, but he had to "ask" his mama to see the actual flick. Lol... Look at how raw fuckin' trailers were 4 decades ago! To us today, this trailer is the entire movie. But seeing a trailer like this had to get a brother--and white boys, apparently--mad hype back in '71.

You take away what is arguably one of the very best musical scoring of a ANY movie you've seen, and sandwiched between the beginning and closing sequences, you end up with a movie that's pretty shitty overall. Moses Gunn can only do so much. Very disappointing, and Roundtree was a dullard throughout.
