I never got the chicken pox. But as soon as I read the book and saw this episode, I was like DW, thinking it was the best thing ever. I even drew spots all over myself one night and woke up acting all sick, and my mom made me take a shower and they all washed off. I got beaten pretty hard for lying and getting late for school that day.

@EeveelutionStorm You probably got a vaccination when you were younger. If not, then you'll be in serious trouble if you get it as an adult as chicken pox is more lethal the older you are. I also hope you don't get it as well.

@WriterApp Probably got the vaccine...My doctor almost killed me when I was five giving me all my shots in one go one right after another same day, same hour, same arm. I can barly remember it but I was messed up for a week. I'm pretty sure I won't get it, my immune system is pretty aggressive. (Alopecia Areata.) When I do get sick it's rare and it usually ends quickly. Thank you.

and when i was cold and sick i stayed home w/ my dad and he made me drink so much juice i had to go to the bathroom like every 5 minutes to pee! and it felt like EVERY SECOND!

when i was sick with stomach flu first i played on the pc then i went to sleep and i woke up with strep (strange huh?) and then i ended up sleeping all day till dinner and when i woke up around eleven my brother was still awake and my mom woke me up to take me to the doctor. other times i had strep mostly and once i had 2 sore teeth (and 1 cavity) and i stayed home from school again and once i just had 2 jammed fingers (so injured) and i had to stay home from school cause of THAT! lol

@Ankh117 Yes, and if you catch it "the old fashioned way" you have better immunity from it that the vaccine provides. If I ever have kids, I will only let them have a chicken pox vaccine if they have a serious immune condition like HIV or CF.

It is better to get them young but it's still possible for complications to arise most doctors advise against things like pox parties where parents expose their children to another child with chicken pox.

O_O Jesus. Arthur got literally the royal treatment when he had the chicken pox. Sat on the couch, ate awesome food, got an oatmeal bath. When I had a chest infection and my lungs were filling with fluids, all I got was a day home from school and "sit down and chill."

@MrLyosea Well, I think Arthur had been using a bendy straw before that specific drink was even served to him. It might have been a straw "isolated" for him because he was sick, so that way no one else in the family would use it. Kind of like how - if you're sick and rest out on the couch for most of the day - nobody else will sit there because your germs are on it.

@bijoukaiba Yeah when I was sick with bronchitis a couple years ago I was practically isolated to my room, so most of my food was brought on a tray and my mom made homemade soup and stuff. I also got sick after my birthday and I had a computer which got disinfected after I was well again.

in the u.s., chicken pox is dying down. its now become very rare for kids to get chicken pox because of the 2 boosters they get as a baby and when they either go into 6th or 9th grade (the parent chooses). or at a physical (like i did)

So? The only birth my grandmother was around for was mine, and that's only because my father was at work and she had to drive my mother to the hospital. We were out of the country when my sister was born, my second sister's grandparents (she's a half-sister) were taking care of us (who were sick with chicken pox) in another state when she was born, and my other two siblings came so fast the only ones there were my mother and step-father. It doesn't mean they love them any less.

strep throat may be the new chicken pox. i never heard of anybody in my class having chicken pox for 2 years. kids in my school had strep throat so much, they had to get their tonsils removed. i had strep throat this past march

Why would D.W. Want to have chicken poxs I mean they are the worst thing you can get growing up I remember when I had them they were so itchy I just wanted to itch all over myself to make myself feel better but nothing worked and I'm pretty sure(but I could be wrong but I always thought that my grandma told me never to scratch because then it can get worse.)
