As great as nWo was, they dropped the ball with Ted DiBiase's role, especially after Bischoff joined. DiBiase could've been the boss of the group because that's the role that suits him. But, he left after a while, became a face (didn't suit him), and worked with the Steiners.

I definitely agree Hogan needed to do something because back in March/April of 1996, he was getting loud boos from the fans.

But I think Hogan definitely brought his game as a heel. In 1 night at BATB '96, he went from being cheered to being the most hated man. And he just kept outdoing himself as a heel with every appearance. He definitely played the role of biggest dirtbag on Earth very well. I think Hogan's actions & the shock of his heelturn & comments is what really made the nWo work well.

And by the 90s, I never thought Hogan would, or could, turn heel. I was stupid to think that. If Hogan could be wrestling's greatest good guy, he could damn sure be the biggest heel. It seems obvious now, but at the time of BATB '96, it was inspired. It was original. It was awesome.
