this is interesting indeed mostly about CrackerJackLee's comments uh why are you bringing BP into this talk, for gods sakes its a test animation not some great british cover up to try to mislead the world into believing the world is going to spin the other way and by doing so throwing the world into a post apocalyptic era of chaos and despair. you know your not doing your country any favours by playing the insane american, its time to stop making a mountian out of a mole hill :)

Thank you to everyone who has expressed concern over this vid. Your comments have been noted, however the video is just an animation test. Following someone rather radically reporting the video (regardless of the fact it is IN the terms of acceptable use enforced by Google and YouTube) I will be closing comments off in a weeks time. @CrackerJackLee Do you have ANY idea how to make a 3D animation and just "correct it". Heck, do you even know how much effort went into this video? For what you are asking, its not a five minute job. This vid was one of my first ever 3D animations and I am very proud of it, just as proud as you are of your music. I placed it on here to show my hard work off. I never stated it was scientifically acurate, and it was never meant to be.

a question i have is the sun has a greater gravity right and its so strong that it can pull that earth around it, why doesnt it pull the atmostphere away from the earth?

@matthew22556 Since the earth is somewhat spherical, the atmosphere is also. Asking why the atmosphere isn't pulled from the Earth is the same thing as asking why the Earth isn't pulled into the sun. The Earth is actually constantly falling into the sun, but since the sun is spherical, the Earth never actually falls.

Map the star background to the sphere it was meant for, get rid of the ugly lens flare, change the texture (maybe NASA's Blue Marble Next Generation?), add clouds, add an atmosphere, and make the rotation more consistent.

well im not sure about this animation...but we all know that the earth rotates on its axis from west to east..so the sun will rise in the east and set in the west..

haha, yeah. The background was very quickly put in as an environment render. Really this was a quick thing I put together to decide wether or not to go into modelling planets a bit more. I decided not to in the end :). Thank you for the feedback :)

There is an error in this video. the "sun set line" is not in the correct place. If you are looking past the earth towards the sun, the sunset line should not be on the backside (with respect to the sun) of the earth. Hope this helps
