I have about 5 years of WoW experience. EQ2 has better gfx, but worse engine preformace, you'll need a better pc to crank eq2's setting up. EQ2 has leaps and bounds better character depelopment, but it's an easier game. WoW easily wins on class balance. EQ2 really shines on the amount of solo content.
WoW's lacking in solo content, and the solo content is rather easy. You can pretty much pick your own difficulty while solo'ing on EQ2.
@Jhaerik WoW rather strictly enforces a "if it's more than 5 levels above you, it's not worth the time" policy. Also there are few to no difficult quests, and few challenging mobs outside of instances. EQ 2 has a wider variety of Mob difficulty, so it's a bit easier to pick how hard you want the game to be... from easy... to "no chance in hell". WoW has a better engine. It allows for better scripted high-quality raid bosses, and smoother gameplay. WoW easily wins on boss encounters.

@MainOffenderKZ FYI we have 3 separate tanks, there are 3 seperate waves of adds, each with a different immune (some are immuned to AOE). Reason why it's all bunch up in a cluster F**k is because the adds tent to go all over the place pwning people that's why we bunch up in one spot.

most of the boss fights take ALOT of moving around and strategy because they all have special things like they spawn mobs that will kill almost all of your raid if you dont take them down fast or some insta kill lava will pop up out of the ground if you dont move out of the spot in time...some you have to stay in front of the whole time or youll die......if you were actually watching the raid and culd see anything it wuld be alot cooler

Well with everquest if you turn your graphics real low you run amazingly smoothly, if you turn them up but dont have a good comp you lag like hell. but if you have a good comp the graphics are absolutly breathtaking
Well most raiding in any game is boring...you sit there for hours killing the same mobs over and over. Boss fights you're just using a spell rotation, for most classes, or just sitting there tanking the same mob for up to 30-40 min sometimes. That is the way Raiding is. That is why I prefer to PVP!
btw the fight was fing hard at the time. All the adds would attack, but you could only do rotations of physical or magic, and if you messed up once it raged and you all died.
both WoW and EQ2 are good and we know this because WoW has 11 million subscribers...Everquest has a shit load of players like WoW and has better graphics but everyone is titled to their own opinion (just saying that to me EQ seemed kinda complicated lol) so theres no need for any upcoming arguements

Seriously guys? What's with all the bitching.. I play both and I don't choose favorites. They both have pros and cons. EQ2 has better character development and role-play factor, which probaly is the reason for the smaller fan-base. WoW caters to action and gameplay so of course more people will play that. Also about the graphics.. EQ2 has better graphics, but having them on max will make your computer have a seizure. Stop all the bitching at each other, so what if you like your game more.

I thought this game was for the PC. It looks like this was made for Commodore 64. I can't even tell what the hell is going on. I've played LOTRO, WoW, and Conan and I'm still playing WoW after almost 3 years. Also, there are alot of WoW guilds, like mine, that don't allow anyone under 18 and, yes, have females. While the new endgame content for WoW is not great, it looks like they're going to cater a little more to hardcore raiders in the next patch. To repeat, EQ's graphics are awful.

this was the last "nuke" encounter brought to the game. this was about 3 or more years ago. i personally think this mob was more about maximizing gear than real skill. npu bypassed the skill part by exploiting the adds. after "the fallen dinasty", a little add on after "Kingdom of Sky" (+mutagenic) the difficulty of raid (and sometimes group) encounter increased dramatically imo.

Juzie, Each expansion brings new content except RoK (Rise of Kunark) RoK brings a max level of 80 instead of 70, and it allows the race Sarnak (Which i call no good thiefs who take loot from chest and run) You should get all the expansion thoughs, more instances, faster level, etc. Its a really great game, ive been playing for about 5 years now. But honestly, i liked it WAY better when i first joined. it was more fun and interesting for me. now i know EVERYTHING and i feel like a complete nerd.

I've played World of Warcraft for the past 4 years and I cetainly don't live in my mothers basement. In all my time of playing the game I have encountered VERY few "10 year olds". personally ive played both games but only a lil but i also hav friends who play both and are hardcore fans of each. and after listening to both and watching them play ive realized that WoW is more for the casual gamer and quests and EQ2 is more about the raids. and tis vid is a bad example of EQ2 mobs alot r more complicated requiring som guild mems to do menial task too keep da adds off wile the DPS guys take out the big guy. both games r good WoW is more casual and EQ2 is more hardcore

you are a wow noob... this wasnt even the main encounter 2 years ago.. this fight was a very difficult fast burn back in the day.. the princes were the hardest fight when they fixed a bug, which was a 10 min fight with a complicated strat, and in the recent expansions(eof) the fights can last up to 30 min on an avatar with a delicate balance in dps and keeping your raid members alive.. this stuff isnt noob tactics like in WoW

most of the boss fights take ALOT of moving around and strategy because they all have special things like they spawn mobs that will kill almost all of your raid if you dont take them down fast or some insta kill lava will pop up out of the ground if you dont move out of the spot in time...some you have to stay in front of the whole time or youll die......if you were actually watching the raid and culd see anything it wuld be alot cooler

Well with everquest if you turn your graphics real low you run amazingly smoothly, if you turn them up but dont have a good comp you lag like hell. but if you have a good comp the graphics are absolutly breathtaking

Well most raiding in any game is boring...you sit there for hours killing the same mobs over and over. Boss fights you're just using a spell rotation, for most classes, or just sitting there tanking the same mob for up to 30-40 min sometimes. That is the way Raiding is. That is why I prefer to PVP!

btw the fight was fing hard at the time. All the adds would attack, but you could only do rotations of physical or magic, and if you messed up once it raged and you all died.

Seriously guys? What's with all the bitching.. I play both and I don't choose favorites. They both have pros and cons. EQ2 has better character development and role-play factor, which probaly is the reason for the smaller fan-base. WoW caters to action and gameplay so of course more people will play that. Also about the graphics.. EQ2 has better graphics, but having them on max will make your computer have a seizure. Stop all the bitching at each other, so what if you like your game more.

I thought this game was for the PC. It looks like this was made for Commodore 64. I can't even tell what the hell is going on. I've played LOTRO, WoW, and Conan and I'm still playing WoW after almost 3 years. Also, there are alot of WoW guilds, like mine, that don't allow anyone under 18 and, yes, have females. While the new endgame content for WoW is not great, it looks like they're going to cater a little more to hardcore raiders in the next patch. To repeat, EQ's graphics are awful.

this was the last "nuke" encounter brought to the game. this was about 3 or more years ago. i personally think this mob was more about maximizing gear than real skill. npu bypassed the skill part by exploiting the adds. after "the fallen dinasty", a little add on after "Kingdom of Sky" (+mutagenic) the difficulty of raid (and sometimes group) encounter increased dramatically imo.

Juzie, Each expansion brings new content except RoK (Rise of Kunark) RoK brings a max level of 80 instead of 70, and it allows the race Sarnak (Which i call no good thiefs who take loot from chest and run) You should get all the expansion thoughs, more instances, faster level, etc. Its a really great game, ive been playing for about 5 years now. But honestly, i liked it WAY better when i first joined. it was more fun and interesting for me. now i know EVERYTHING and i feel like a complete nerd.

Don't For get this everquest 1 started the whole genre back in 1996. Wow is just avertized more than everquest. I've played World of Warcraft for the past 4 years and I cetainly don't live in my mothers basement. In all my time of playing the game I have encountered VERY few "10 year olds". The majority of the game is made up of mostly hardcore players who understand the game very well,and those are the 20-even 60 year olds.

Try doing tangrin, and any avatar except valor and flame. They are VERY hard, so hard in fact avatar of growth has only been killed once WW.

personally ive played both games but only a lil but i also hav friends who play both and are hardcore fans of each. and after listening to both and watching them play ive realized that WoW is more for the casual gamer and quests and EQ2 is more about the raids. and tis vid is a bad example of EQ2 mobs alot r more complicated requiring som guild mems to do menial task too keep da adds off wile the DPS guys take out the big guy. both games r good WoW is more casual and EQ2 is more hardcore

you are a wow noob... this wasnt even the main encounter 2 years ago.. this fight was a very difficult fast burn back in the day.. the princes were the hardest fight when they fixed a bug, which was a 10 min fight with a complicated strat, and in the recent expansions(eof) the fights can last up to 30 min on an avatar with a delicate balance in dps and keeping your raid members alive.. this stuff isnt noob tactics like in WoW
