how fast would you say he was going when he knocked out? didnt look very fast at all. glad he walked away from that.

@STiTypeUK My best guess when he hit the wall would be maybe 40-50mph given my vantage point, but its hard to say, he did slow up some from when he first got loose

@ehkohler I'm sorry for the camera work, no tripod + people bumping into me trying to see + 50 degree weather I was under dressed for = shaky camera...Eris Peterson, I believe was the racer and the next day was already talking of plans to build another car.

The throttle stuck, he was on the brakes, when he hit the wall he got knocked out, he regained consciousness while they where getting him out of the car. As for the camera work, you try holding a camcorder steady without a tri pod while people are bumping into you, and whenever you zoom in any movement of the camera gets magnified.

@fiat38 He wasnt on the brakes he has a taillight on so the tower can see the car at the top end all cars are suposed to have them And he told us that he was pulling on the toe hook to try and get the throttle unstuck and he tryed shuting the power of to kill the car and pull the chute but it was to late

@aud6875 Here's what Eric's wife said about what happened.

Its obvious the car left just fine, but when it started to get loose he was unable to pedal. The throttle was unresponsive and after pulling up on the toe hook a few times he started reaching for his switches and chutes while braking. It was only a split second before he smacked the wall and was unconscious.

It really sucks to see something like this happen to a racer and their car. Hopefully he will be able to recover from this and get back out there. Glad he ended up checking out ok. Too bad I can't say the same for this guys camera work. Wtf! Were you videoing this as you were falling down the stairs??

Someone on a forum was wondering if the driverside rear wheel or axle broke and it was wedged under the car holding it.

The announcer says the driver is unconscious. I'm thinking he is standing on the brakes cause the fronts are not turning. Don't know why he didn't throw it in neutral and let the motor go. Might have saved the drive train.
