  • While the now have a woodland ATACS, they probably didn't at the time.I haven't seen the woodland variant in action. I think multicam is better for more areas. Your yahoo friend in multicam should just get a set in that multicam because that white just sticks out like a sore thumb. In your area, I might suggest the canadian CAPDAT or russian KLMK since everything is so blasted green there.

  • @lustercowx That's my brother, not my 'yahoo friend'. The kit he was wearing there was all mine that he wore for the video, and that UBACS just happened to be the only MC upper clothing piece I owned at the time, it would also generally be worn with some kind of LBE covering up the tan coloured centre portion. I have howeversince bought a SORD traditional style shirt to fill the gap.

  • army should have A-TAC and marines should have MULTICAM

  • i have a pair of those army green/grey aviator gloves. The stitching sucks bad. Worse than the $30-50 gloves i get from walmart

  • A-Tacs was designed for Urban warfare, street fights,iraq,afganisthan..In england or in the UK the urbanistic picture is quite diferent than in the rest of the world, less beton or panel made buildings around,so i don't think that the A-Tacs is good choice for british military use..But the multi cam pattern or MTP is good choice in many points..I'm a former spec force member and i have a quite huge collection of these uniforms..Do you guys have a club,i'm near london and still looking for one

  • @DamionJR4923 You rang?

  • DOSE A-TACS FG BLEND IN THE WOODS GOOD OR NOT SOMEONE GETBACK TO ME WITH ANSWER ASAP!

  • @reconsniper5 IT IS NOT EVEN OUT YET! WHEN IT DOES PEOPLE WILL RESPOND AND TELL YOU IF IT DOES OR NOT! IT COMES OUT IN MARCH 2012!

  • Why compare apples to oranges? ATACS was originally designed for some rural-urban applications, foothills, scrub-brushes, etc. (*see Iraq/Afghanistan). You're in a woodland environment, comparing a mountain/desert pattern to a woodland pattern? ATACS has displayed both an urban and a woodland pattern. Why not compare woodland vs. woodland?

  • @VastFlux ATACS-FG isn't even out right now, how would I have gotten hold of it in June last year? The point was to help out a few mates who were interested in the patterns, that's all. Most of England looks the terrain in the video, they wanted to see how well the available ATACS would (or indeed wouldn't) blend in in this country.

  • @CKinnerley My bad, my brother. I didn't see that you did this test nearly a year ago.

You can get the ATACS woodland right now if you're tied to the right people. I've got sniper veil material of the stuff and some samples. What I should've said was to use the ATACS in some "scrubby brush/hillside---and THEN compare it to Multicam." I was just remarking on the overall notion of putting a scrub camo like ATACS into a foliage type environment.

  • @VastFlux No I get what you're saying, that's fine. Like I say though, had a lot of guys who wanted to use this stuff in the woods asking the question, so I made the video to show them what it would be like.

  • @CKinnerley Agreed. Scrub ATACS is clearly inferior to Multicam in the green foliage. Foliage ATACS is nice, bro. You need to try it! I would definitely choose the foliage ATACS of Multicam, for certain.

  • Multiland vs Multicam would be better to se

  • I don't believe this comparison or the other videos alike are fair for A-TACS. A-TACS recently came out with their foliage version. All these vidoes that are out their are comparing a camo thats made for desert and urban environement to mulitcam in a foliage effectiveness scheme.

  • it must be broke i can see you

  • @albinothief Yeah must be, I'll put some fresh batteries in.

  • @albinothief fking freak

  • @TheJaaysog Bit of a harsh thing to say to one of my colleagues isn't it?

  • A-TACS is better, I happen to be wearing some now, as a matter of fact

  • Hey man! Nice video

Do you know when the FG A-tacs are coming to the markets?

How much approximately they will cost?

I was looking at getting a set of A-TACS, As I just LOVE the pattern.

But in a more realistic sense of mind, I feel Multi-cam would work much better in the environment i use. A mixture of light and dense woodland, aswell as open fresh/dry grass areas. Mostly green. some brown, and a little tan on the open parts etc

    Would you recommend getting multicam?

    Or waiting for FG At-tacs

  • @mr0awsome0 I'd go with MC if I were in your shoes. It's not really 'perfect' against any background, but it's definitely the most versatile pattern out there, works well against a massive range of environment types.

  • I bet the new ATACS FG would work great there.

  • @Loe307uh I reckon you're right, you're certainly not the first person to say that actually. Soon as it's on the market I'll be picking some up.

  • Its too bad you british boys can play dress up but cant own real firearms!

  • @THEKINGOFMETROPOLIS I can't really own much myself, but luckily my employer does have plenty that they let me have a go on, just now and again you know. Can't go too far wrong with a good, full auto 5.56.

  • @CKinnerley Nice dude. You sound like the luckiest dude in England if you get to shoot full auto weapons. I can't even do that. Gotta ask though. Would an ATAC combat jacket work well with maybe a Multi-cam plate carrier?

  • @THEKINGOFMETROPOLIS Heh, well me and the other 180k-odd people that are in the british armed forces yeah. Can't say I've tried A-TACS with multicam yet though I've seen a lot of people ask, I reckon it would look alright though.

  • @CKinnerley are you talking about the L85 great gun but i like the Bushmaster ACR im an american in california any gun besides any explosive or full auto

  • @skate4ever214 Correct, the L85A2 is the only weapon I actually shoot, but that's just the nature of the job. On the plus side it has full auto which I've used on quite a few occasions, and I actually work with explosives all day in my 8-5.

  • I'm looking for the best camo possible in a simulated urban environment, is multicam suited for this? Or would I better buy A-TACS for this purpose.

  • atacs is the best, but just an fyi, they're ACU's not BDU's

  • Comment removed

  • @dougman066

No they are the same thing.

    ACU = Army Combat Uniform

    BDU = Battle Dress Uniform

  • @mr0awsome0 ACU is the successor of the BDU and DCU. the ACU is an upgraded pattern to blend into almost every environment. the U.S. Army uses the ACU while countries like Bolivia or Iraq uses the BDU.

  • @dougman066

No. The term i am referring to is not a type of camo. It is the name of the clothing to certain armies.

It is a certain countries Battle Dress Uniform. Or Army Combat Uniform.

ACU is a camo i know.

But i have never heard of a camo called BDU, I don't think there is such thing.

  • @mr0awsome0 What i meant was that the pasterns used to make an ACU are far superior than a BDU. And my mistake i meant it uses an upgraded pattern.

  • @mr0awsome0 yeah a BDU is a type of uniform. technically ACU is as well but the camo is so synonymous with the uniform that everyone just calls it that. the camo is technically called UCP (universal camouflage pattern).

  • what kind of pants are the multicam? i couldnt quite understand him in the video

  • @mitchploeg Yeah that was my fault, didn't properly brief my oppo there. The brand's 'OPS', google 'UR-Tactical'

  • great vid, thx for uploading

  • If you like the ATACS pattern but you are more in the forested environment, get FB ATACS, its about to be out. But for an overall pattern, MC rules above all else in my opinion. That, or XCAMO.

  • Multicam is way more versatile than A-TACS. If I were only allowed one uniform period for every deployment... I would pick MultiCam.

  • Multicam. A-TACS isn't bad but it lacks some colors for that environment. Multicam works almost everywhere. It's not perfect but true camouflage is environment specific.

  • I'm seriously considering maybe picking up some A-tacs. I live in Canada, and though I LOVE CADPAT, it quite simply doesn't work in the early spring/fall. I've considered the arid marpat, but it's just too light for my area. A-Tacs is much darker, and the coloration is almost perfect, even the lighter whiteish would blend well with the poplar trees.

  • @GLOCK22BYITCH Ignorant morons who are still living in the 18th century when spouting such utterly cunting stupid retarded bullshit was actually acceptable... DIE

  • @CKinnerley maby... but i farted in your mouth and your steady tasting it. DIE TWICE bYitch

  • @GLOCK22BYITCH Holy fuck, the sheer level of uber-stupidity you exhibit is absolutely breath taking, I have never in my life witnessed a cunt of such epic proportions, you can't even manage to produce a video that's the correct way up and you go around the place trolling like a twat? Holy titty fucking christ you're dense beyond belief, the fact you live across the atlantic ocean from me and thought it would somehow be a good idea to make your last comment is a testament to your idiocy, fuck...

  • @GLOCK22BYITCH

    You mad bro?

  • useful video. thanks. still a big fan of your work; you don't deserve this kind of grief.

  • i hope the below statements are taken seriously and not pounded by immature rants and arguments. This is a topic that must not be uprooted and soiled by purely unscientific opinion and childish arguments that cannot support anything. I'm not normally one to get caught up in a youtube debate, but I am interested in it and I don't want it ruined, like many other debates, by three year olds spamming about "MULTICAM SUCKS" or "A TACS IS @#%* ON CLOTHING". I'd like this debate to be handled maturely.

  • @Fettman501 Well said.

  • neither is better, but when the green version of a tacs comes out, all bets are on the a tacs because it is the next stage in camouflage technology. first was the drab and dull colors, then the blotch patterns we came to love, then it evolved into digital patterns. multicam will probably be one of the last of the blotch camouflages as camo tech evolves from digital to organic digital (a tacs). the only way to make sure is a thorough scientific experiment, posted unaltered on youtube.

  • at least that's my theory

  • I'd assume that a tacs works where there is either an absence of green or in heavily wooded areas. Multicam would probably work anywhere where there's a patch of green, but not in jungles or lush places where the hue of green is different. a tacs might work in a tundra, but neither would do well in a snowy environment. the makers of a tacs are coming out with a green version due to popular demand. for now, multicam and a tacs are companion camouflages that compensate for the others weakness.

  • 720p thanks for taken the time for that.

  • Camoflage works better when you don't MOVE!.

  • some hunting gears style are much more effective than military pattern for woodland landscapes dissimulation.

  • The A-TACS just doesn't have enough green to successfully conceal an individual in a forested environment. that's why Multicam made it to the army. also as respectfully as i can say this, just play airsoft and stay away from reviewing camouflage. black boots and your trying to be camoflaged? nice Crye gear though. get a plate carrier or a field jacket you don't need a combat shirt. Arc'teryx makes a better combat shirt if you want a light shirt with full camo.

  • @n0tmlg You can't camouflage yourself in the woods in black boots? You must be doing something really wrong, because when I did my basic training I saw an awful lot of people manage to disappear in to the undergrowth wearing DPM and black boots, all it takes is the right application of cam cream and foliage.

As for do I 'need' a UBACS? Well no, but I find it a hell of a lot more comfortable under a PC/Chest Rig when I'm running around in the summer, so I'll use what I like, thank you.

  • @n0tmlg they just came out with A-TAC with green in it looks just the dame same just with a spot of green looks like it got spread paint

  • ive seen photos of hthe a-tacs in use in afghanistan and the soldiers wer resting on a side of a mountain and it blended and distorted there figure very well.

  • In my opinion though the A-TACS seems to distort the human figure very well in thick branches.

  • Plain and simple BDU's would work best for your area

  • Lol your brothers shirt there is designed to be worn with the plate carrier vest. It's not meant to be worn by itself like that.

  • @Bluedotism Funnily enough, I am aware of the point of a UBACS. I didn't own a multicam PC/Vest of any kind at the time, so there was nothing to be done about it.

  • @CKinnerley Ya I watched some of your other videos actually. I like your reviews.

  • @MrKingtigertank I could indeed, I'll be sure to carry a sandbag with me in future just in case. :p

  • That dude pulled a sweet move at the beginning trying to make his arm blend in with the grass. Didn't quite work but it looked like a Napoleon Dynamite dance move :)

  • You should have used some more distance in the shots for the comparison. I live in a concrete jungle so A-tacs is my choice. I have also tested multicam in urban areas its not bad but its not good either.

  • looks like it would fare well in Afghanistan. I think i still prefer multicam though.

  • there aren't deserts in England?

  • @fenderguitarist05 Not entirely sure if that's a serious question.. but no, none that I'm aware of.

  • @CKinnerley haha no I wasn't being serious

  • @fenderguitarist05 Sorry mate, hard to tell online, just checking.

  • @CKinnerley lol

  • @fenderguitarist05 hahahahaaaa u morron!!!

  • @Scharfschutze1972 clearly you do not understand the concept of sarcasm. It's funny because most people with an elementary level of education know that there is of course, no deserts in England. Also I would advise spelling the word 'moron' correctly, before trying to insult someone with it.

  • @fenderguitarist05 if i ever offended you im sorry i thought MORON was a how to say it light insult, but i can clearly see your reaction, be tolerant your sense of humor SUCKS and the English should have lots of it,....both camouflages sucks, check your fellow countryman Pencott of Hydedefinition,....and by the way i am Argentinian you islander......

  • @fenderguitarist05 Thats right, that is why the Royal marines are training in the U.S. Deserts in operation Black Alligator right now.

  • Very informative indeed, i like the way you compare the patterns in different environments, this gives the audience a better grasp of how the patterns react in different environments.

  • MARPAT-CADPAT-DPM-FLECK-US WOODLAND would work better than even Multicam in your neck of the woods. The ATAC camo looks like shit. I can see it blending in with desert and nothing else

  • @1lostinspace Which is precisely why I own temperate MARPAT, DPM and Flecktarn and US woodland, as well as various OD BDUs. As I say in the video, I did the comparison because the question was being asked in various places, but the only kind of landscape I've got anywhere near around me is, unfortunately, green.

  • @CKinnerley

Yeah Marpat is what I would use or Cadpat

  • @1lostinspace Yeah in that hue but there is supposed to be different hues of the ATACS pattern out likely something with alittle more green to it to work with woodland.

  • @ViolentKisses87 Indeed, A-TACS FG is on the way, so we'll see how that fairs.

  • gayest multicam shirt ever

  • @TheJasonDR Wow.. now that is just amazingly original. I mean, I've just never seen anyone use the term 'gay' in an attempt to describe something in a negative fashion before. Do you write your own material? Because that is some cutting edge stuff right there, just so fresh, really never heard anyone use that word to do that before. Really great job man, love it.

    Now fuck off.

  • multicam

  • You need real guns

  • Atacs didn't clash as bad as i thought it would in all honesty. Curious as to how expensive a loadout will be for condor gear once it's released.

  • I hate how that multicam shirt has tan, i wish it was in OD green or coyote tan. I love the Coyote tan with Multicam :)

  • Issues with the UBACS aside, this is a good field comparison, so thanks. I think they both did pretty well in all the environments, although neither was great anywhere (like proper multi-terrain camoflages are meant to be). A-TACS wasn't so good in the woods, but I think I'll stick with my DPM thanks.

  • Great video! I for multiple environments multicam is hard to beat, but the ATACS held its own for being more of a desert type camo. Keep up the videos!

  • matey with multicam should really worn a jacket in hind sight....eh? good vid all the same lads.

  • @Musicgutbucket Only had the UBACS to use unfortunately, pretty rare that I buy a traditional style BDU jacket now-a-days to be honest. Even in the cooler months, once you've got a PC/Chest rig over the top I pretty much always find a UBACS design of top clothing to be way more comfortable.

  • Appreciate the effort put into the video, perhaps you could do one with less movement--which our eye is very good at detecting--with the subject remaining still so as to see how well the patterns conceal.

  • I can never understand why the torso on the MC combat shirts is always desert tan... coyote or an OD would be such a better match

  • Do you guys do any catapult hunting?

  • @Tux3d0 Nothing much to hunt around here to be honest, it's not as remote or as countryside as it may look, heh. Only 25 minutes on the train and you're looking at tower bridge and the houses of parliament.

  • @SuperBoomstick Ares Armor also has Plate carriers in A-Tacs.

  • If I could only find a modular plate carrier in A-Tacs, I'd be set. Until then it's multicam :)

  • @SuperBoomstick TAG makes various MOLLE kit in A-TACS now, might take a bit of searching but I'm sure there's people out there who stock it.

  • @CKinnerley

And Condor is also planning on releasing its A-TACS carrie and pouches in Oct.

  • @SuperBoomstick condor makes one

  • @SuperBoomstick Now Condor makes one. In addition, the Australian company Sord makes some. plus TAG makes one as you said.

  • @Themis88 The last thing you ever want to cheap out on is a vest. Condor is garbage. I'll stick with TAG

  • @SuperBoomstick There was another vid and this dude's multicam was indestinguishable from the A-TACS

  • @SuperBoomstick Checkout some online Airsoft stores, principally this one called Ebairsoft, they've just got a pretty descent amount of ATACS gear, including plate carriers and vests ^^

  • @BigManProducciones I will never shop at ebaybanned again. it's chinese dude, what else is there to say? everything they sell is just a low-quality knock off of the real deal. I already found my A-TACS, i got the TAG intrepid rig, Propper BDU's, TAG dump pouch and the TAG combat sustainment pack. If you're going A-TACS go with the real deal. It'll only set you back about 500 for everything which is a bargain for a full loadout.

  • @SuperBoomstick Well i definetly see your point, a friend of mine bought a Multicam BDU version...2 or 3 i think, it's the one with the integrated knee and elbow pads, and one of the knee pads just fell off after the fourth game...damn. Where did you've got your A-TACS gear bro?

  • @BigManProducciones at TAG. They have basically everything in A-TACS. tacticalassaultgearstore com is the site. It's military grade so it's a bit pricy but the team I play with has run it for a couple months and they love it.

  • @SuperBoomstick Well if i'm going to pay the price, better be for some real quality gear. Very much appreciated bro ^^

  • @robwtsn106 Honestly, I'm not arguing for either camo, I think they both have their benefits. MC did better in the really green stuff, but if I'd had some desert'y to go I think the A-TACS would've won it, so it's each to own on that one.

  • @CKinnerley

You'd actually be wrong there. Recently had a go with MC and A-Tacs in a desert and A-Tacs STILL didn't do as well as MC. Where A-Tacs shines seems to be in concrete urban and. A touch of cream dye seems to sort it out for arid settings though. MC stinks in most urban enviros.

  • A-TACS fooled me a bit to be honest because the green ends up playing with your eyes quite a bit when in a grassy area, the camo pattern turns a lot more green and similar when under a tree with the browns.

  • @ThePurcy Yep, it's pretty good stuff. Not perfect in the foliage/grass, but in the mud and dead leaves it's not a bad camo for woodland use at all.
