  • maan put some more atittud when playong drums! but great cover btw

  • You did this... Like A B O S S

  • clear job!

  • @TheOstroverhoff

    Thanks!

  • That was a really good cover. Good job, man!

  • @TakajoMiyazaki

    Thanks!

  • double bass is for pussies... I'm glad he isn't using it :D

  • double bass is for pussies :D

  • Great job, man. Jon would be proud!

  • @Lehmann108

    Thank you!

  • You would have to be on cheap crack to think that moon was better than Bonham!!!! Moon is nothing more than an over-rated, flashy drummer. If you consider songs full of pointless rolls/fills with little to no feel at all to be good then i guess Moon is your guy. If moon was half as creative as Bonham then i guess every song wouldnt sound the same. Bonham owns the rock feel. Great job in the video man! Well done.

  • @pnotes1

    Thanks!

  • @pnotes1 im clean as a whistle mate, moon is my guy

  • @pnotes1 sorry man, that is completely inaccurate, you clearly don't know much about moon, moon was the most inspirational, creative and energetic rock drummer of all time

  • @jaqua524 haha wtf moon is from the who

  • @dadio2002 yes

  • That isn't a Double bass you idiots, he using one, check his left foot and look at the hi hats you assholes, also bonham used one, there wasn't even double pedals when bonham was still alive...

  • I play this song like Bonzo... WITHOUT A DOUBLE BASS PEDAL!!

  • ... good job, kid. But you need to put some feeling into it..! Lay into the snare a bit... you hit it like you're afraid of it... need a rim shot on the main snare hits. (I don't get all the talk here about double bass... my mom can play this pattern)

  • bonham is a king and will never be forgotten by drummers every where

  • Bonham was the jimi hendrix of drummers

  • @Jeans11234567 noooooooooooo lol..keith moon was definitally the jimi hendrix of drummers...no doubt, bonham was like the jimmy page of drums..perfect haha

  • @jaqua524 page better than hendrix? yes...but moon in my mind was the best rock drummer of all time

  • it really looks like you're using a double, but actually you aren't!

  • it does look like he is using a double bass pedal but i'm not saying he is that's what it looks like to me

btw i can play it teh original way with only 1 bass pedal and even make it sound as heavy metal

  • Good

  • Just looking at the comments, some idiots don't seem to realise that he isn't using a double bass pedal. He played it the way bonham did with a single bass pedal, and overall produced a fantastic cover of the song.

  • @06palmera

    Thank you!

  • why is bonham the best drummer of all time

  • @JohnnySton3r Is that a joke or what

  • @DrummingBonham i know hes really awesome but why?

  • @DrummingBonham hahaha im just fuckin with ya

  • bonham died because god wanted drum lessons.

  • @mvztvp no he died because he drank to much and choked on his vomit. god doesn't exist.

  • not double pedal .. its very easy

  • sweet

  • i dont know but as i see in the comments you use double bass, why is that needed if you can perfectly play it with one

  • why are u using double bass?

  • how can your hi-hat be closed if you are using a double bass??

  • @LucaCava94

I have a clutch on the top hat that keeps it closed when playing any double bass patterns but the high hat sound is a lot more open unlike the tight closed sound in this vid seeing as I didn't use a double bass pedal.

  • @twocanchu ah! all right tanks

  • @twocanchu ah XD i'm sorry

  • @LucaCava94

    No problem. Thanks for watching.

  • @twocanchu y do u need a double bass for this song, i can play it with a single its not that incredibly hard

  • @TheSaxplaya1

I do not use a double bass on this song. It's an accusation made early on when I posted this vid because the movement of my left leg on the high hat pedal suggests double bass playing. You're right, it's not that difficult to play this song properly on a single player as Bonham did. I even posted a short clips showing my feet while playing this pattern to help clear up any confusion. It displays my left foot on the high hat pedal and the same left leg movement as in this vid.

  • @twocanchu oh ok my bad sorry

  • @TheSaxplaya1

It's all good. Thanks for watching.

  • con doble pedal hasta yo

me gustaria ver que lo hicieras con uno

    a la antigua...

  • @donovanfunk

He publicado otro video de mis pedales para demostrar que lo toco con un pedal.

    Gracias por vernos!

  • I'm about to play guitar to this.

  • does he have two drum sets it looks like theres won in the back

  • @LiveDrumBoard

Thats a set of Tamas that I used to play on before I got these Yamaha Stage Customs.

  • bonham always used speed king bass pedal ..he also never used a double bass

  • because he is not a pussy - bonham was a badass

  • @DMac1712 got that right!

  • he did use a double bass in some of the 1969 us tours

  • he did use a double bass in some of the 1969 us tours @bonhaminspired

  • @bonhaminspired He did for a short time use 2 bass drums...

  • @benturki but then he ealized he was suck a badass and he didnt need it btw sorry for the late reply

  • @bonhaminspired

Jimmy Page thought that he didnt need a double bass... and he was right

  • @bonhaminspired i used a speed king.... nothing else compares now

  • @bonhaminspired no one can be compared to john bonham and his foot work. which is why the double pedal was invented

  • @bonhaminspired false. the first kit ludwig gave him was a double bass. he toured with is for a summer until page and plant said the double kick was drowning out their sound. But he never recorded any of their albums with a double kick

  • Very cool man...but your crash don't sounds good...anyway keep rockin...You have a solid groove...And i think will sounds better if you use the rim shot on he snare ...Cheers

  • i own an avedish crash like that/ they sound amazing

  • what is your mini china clamped too and what kind of china is it?

  • It's a 12" Wuhan China and it's on a spring type mount commonly used with china cymbals.

  • Did he use a Ludwig Speed King Pedal , That is what I learned on and they respond well as they have a longer than usual foot board .

  • I'm pretty sure that's what he had. I have never tried one before.

  • dude ur great

  • Thank you!

  • what crash is that

  • It's an old 18" Avedis Zildjian.

  • damn, you're good!

  • Thanks!

  • i like this song but um hey was it very hard for u to learn this song? i mean i try to play this song but i have trouble how to learn it to play um any tips u can tell me how to play this song by the way nice cover nd thanks for posting it ur awesome

  • Thanks! This song wasn't too difficult. I would start with trying to play the main beat of the song at a much slower tempo to help you get the bass drum part down, and slowly speed it up as you get comfortable with it. I posted a quick clip of this with no music that may help you hear what you need to do. Hope that helps.

  • wait is there double bass in the intro cause if there is i hate myself

  • No, there is no double bass anywhere in this song. Bonham did not use one. He has an incredibly fast foot, just listen to Good Times Bad Times.

  • @bloodelf20

lol I hate it too, I always get off time on it, but John Bonham had a very fast and accurate right foot. He only did one bass drum, but if you do this with 2 bass drums, it would be harder, trust me, its easier with one bass drum

  • RIP John Bonham. First song I learned on the drums. took.... ehh a week maybe less? cuz i listend to the song so much I knew the beat in my head

  • nice job, and your set is amazing

  • dude that was sick, wat kind of cymbals are u playing?

  • Thanks. The hi-hats, crash, and ride cymbals are all old Zildjian Avedis.

  • awesome

  • Thanks.

  • so is it just the same basic groove all the way through with changes to the bar endins here and there?? just want to know because i want to learn it :)

  • Yeah it's pretty much the same groove throughout. I drop one bass note on the lyric part "We come from the land of the ice and snow,

From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow" then add the bass drum beat as in the intro. Same thing again on the second verse, same lyric part. Other than that I play the same groove throughout, adding cymbal accents on the snare beat towards the end. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching.

  • it really does help. and it was a pleasure watching you play :)

  • well actually my drum teacher can use the high hat and the double base at the same time but i dont know if he meant to do it because he shifts it to the beat even though the base petal is going four or five times faster

  • I have a video of Thomas Lang and he is able to play both hi hat and double bass at the same time with his left foot. I'm not a double bass player. I use the double pedal for fills. The bass drum pattern in this song is not that difficult to achieve with one foot. Obviously the camera angle is misleading. I will repost the song with a clear view of my pedals soon.

  • true I think its easier with one foot too. u rock

  • that is so gay that you have to use a double kick

    exept for that good job

  • Looks as though I'll have to repost with a foot view or something for the non believers. I do not use a double kick on this song.

  • At 1:12 and 1:25 you can clearly see and hear the high hat open which wouldn't happen if it was locked and not being controlled by my foot.

  • well you play it tighter then me. are you using double kick? thats soo cheating! Jimmy never let bonham use double kick cos he was to much of a machine on them! good job anway

  • lol, i have a double kick but I do not use it on this song. my left leg is seen moving just to keep time on the high hat pedal. you're right, bonhams lack of double pedal made him a monster on a bass drum with a single pedal as evident in songs like good times bad times.

  • yeah good times bad times realy shows what his foot was capable of thats for sure

  • that's pretty good.
