I think making people awasre of these issues is VERY important. Although i get a lot of negative attention for bringing it up with with co-workers or just in casual conversations. I belive every conversation helps to make people aware they are not alone with their problems, or make them aware they are part of a problem for some one else. The reactions vary but I always have some guy tell me a personal experiance agreeing that the system is flawed.
