@waldemar31293 The e63 amg is not sportier than the m5, it's a lot softer which in turn does not handle as well, the only thing that saves it on the track is the straights since it has a lot of torque from the 6.2 V8. So after so many years mercedes finally came out with a car that is slightly faster than the M5 on the track but still couldn't beat the M5 in all aspects. The E60 M5 was made in 2004, I guess that wasn't enough time for merc to make a better car.

A Z4 M and an M6 are in different categories than an R8 or SLS, so there is no point in comparing cars that were never ment to compete against each other and are in completely different classes. unlike mercedes, beamer doesnt need superchargers to make there top models (their m cars fast). their lower models like the 3 series and 5 use turbos but those arent the tp of the line cars
the E55 will pick up qicker cuz of that supercharger, but that V10 is N/A so it will catch up about half mile down. matter of fact an E63 would be a better match, for the M5
Well the new 08 M3 does 0 to 60 in 4.5, which isn't ridiculously fast but plenty fast for a sports car. The new 08 E63 also does 0 to 60 in 4.5. They're both luxury cars. The new 63 is like $85,000 and the M3 is like $65,000. The E63, is a tad bit more upscale/luxurious, much stronger, and far more reliable. But you have to admit that both cars are very good. I prefer the E63 AMG.

You've got GT-Rs beating 911 Turbos and supposedly 911 GT2s around the nurburgring and the Porsches all have equal or better power except that the GT-R has better grip because of the 4wd and that's on a track. BMWs beat Audis simply because they are better cars with a better pedigree and more power, the M3 has more power than an RS4 but I've never seen a current gen(underpowered) M5 vs and RS6 I would take Audi and I am a BMW lifer.
audi rs 6 will beat M5 in straight line. Around a track the M5 wins. I have an e60 bmw which is the baby 2.2 L but its the sports version and sticks like shit to a blanket. I do not believe you can get a better handling family car than an M5/5 Series Period. As for Nissan GT-R, they outpace alot of cars due to there electronic system which works with the 4WD system hand in hand. The reason they are so quick is that they have super modified turbo engines. They dont have very long lifes.
I'm not sure about the current gen rs6 vs m5 around a track, I'd like to see that. And as for the GT-R we'll have to see what it does as it ages, so far the only reason I've heard of it not lasting long is because porsche bought one and red lined it around the nurburgring for months. The thing with the GT-R and a lot of the new 4wd cars is they dont split power up evenly so you're not losing any through the drive train, it's simply used for handling where necessary, it's becoming more common.
but you got to look at the facts there driving more diffs, just like Air Con looses you power so does 4 WD. The problem with the GTR is that it as been geared to accelerate. Thats it! For example, put it against an M5 in a straight line, it will top out at 170mph ish, M5 will hit 205mph. Now I'd never trade my car for a normal japanese car but I would consider a skyline or a supra because they had fantastic build quality and that is the reason you can get so much power out of them and I'm pretty sure this GT-R is no different,I don't drive my cars much in the winter,they last.

But I saw the 520i in the right colour with bi-xenons and really high spec with sports pack, and my head bought that. I saved £20,000 on m5 plus economy and to be truthfull you get looks in it as much as you would an M5 because they more or less look the same in Carbon Black. But I would still love the E60 M5, They are trully a great car and would have M5 over an aston martin if i had the money to loose.

GTR does not beat a 911 GT2 around a track. It doesnt even come close to it. Nissans claims about its 'Ring performance have not been matched by anyone since so i have a feeling they lied about it. Going across country roads or when you are on a slippery surface i would much rather have 4wd however.

BMW and Mercedes Benz. Hmmm... My old man has a mercedes. I have a bimmer. His was 300E mine was 525i with M50B25 engine. His needed to see the workshop every month to solve monthly problems. Mine just needed preventive maintenance. Mine handled better on curves and better in acceleration. Well those were ordinary road cars not the high powered ones. The benz is sold now and he bought a bimmer.

I think that's an 03 E55 AMG. The new 08 E63 does 0 to 60 in 4.2, and the M5 does 0 to 60 in 4.4. But that 03 E55 probably gets the car to 60mph in 4.5 or 4.6. So this really is a pretty accurate contest. Just don't forget the Cadillac STS-V.

the E55 will pick up qicker cuz of that supercharger, but that V10 is N/A so it will catch up about half mile down. matter of fact an E63 would be a better match, for the M5

Well the new 08 M3 does 0 to 60 in 4.5, which isn't ridiculously fast but plenty fast for a sports car. The new 08 E63 also does 0 to 60 in 4.5. They're both luxury cars. The new 63 is like $85,000 and the M3 is like $65,000. The E63, is a tad bit more upscale/luxurious, much stronger, and far more reliable. But you have to admit that both cars are very good. I prefer the E63 AMG.

You've got GT-Rs beating 911 Turbos and supposedly 911 GT2s around the nurburgring and the Porsches all have equal or better power except that the GT-R has better grip because of the 4wd and that's on a track. They built the Veyron with 4wd to handle all that power. BMWs beat Audis simply because they are better cars with a better pedigree and more power, the M3 has more power than an RS4 but I've never seen a current gen(underpowered) M5 vs and RS6 I would take Audi and I am a BMW lifer.

audi rs 6 will beat M5 in straight line. Around a track the M5 wins. I have an e60 bmw which is the baby 2.2 L but its the sports version and sticks like shit to a blanket. I do not believe you can get a better handling family car than an M5/5 Series Period. As for Nissan GT-R, they outpace alot of cars due to there electronic system which works with the 4WD system hand in hand. The reason they are so quick is that they have super modified turbo engines. They dont have very long lifes.

I'm not sure about the current gen rs6 vs m5 around a track, I'd like to see that. And as for the GT-R we'll have to see what it does as it ages, so far the only reason I've heard of it not lasting long is because porsche bought one and red lined it around the nurburgring for months. The thing with the GT-R and a lot of the new 4wd cars is they dont split power up evenly so you're not losing any through the drive train, it's simply used for handling where necessary, it's becoming more common.

but you got to look at the facts there driving more diffs, just like Air Con looses you power so does 4 WD. The problem with the GTR is that it as been geared to accelerate. Thats it! For example, put it against an M5 in a straight line, it will top out at 170mph ish, M5 will hit 205mph. Plus dont forget build quality. yeah there nice when there new but they dont age like the german cars. When i look at cars I dont just look at 0-60 because they dont give a true 'road' indication.

That is true enough, I have a 540 and am getting an M5 in a few months and the only time I drive at the limit around turn is at 3 am, the only thing you can really do safely enough on streets is drag race. Now I'd never trade my car for a normal japanese car but I would consider a skyline or a supra because they had fantastic build quality and that is the reason you can get so much power out of them and I'm pretty sure this GT-R is no different,I don't drive my cars much in the winter,they last.

true true. My heart was going to buy the M5 in Jan/Feb when I had enough pennys saved. But I saw the 520i in the right colour with bi-xenons and really high spec with sports pack, and my head bought that. I saved £20,000 on m5 plus economy and to be truthfull you get looks in it as much as you would an M5 because they more or less look the same in Carbon Black. But I would still love the E60 M5, They are trully a great car and would have M5 over an aston martin if i had the money to loose.

GTR does not beat a 911 GT2 around a track. It doesnt even come close to it. Nissans claims about its 'Ring performance have not been matched by anyone since so i have a feeling they lied about it. Going across country roads or when you are on a slippery surface i would much rather have 4wd however.
