The truth is my friend is that cosmestologists have no good answer to your question,
Most think the universe is "closed" which makes your question a great one. Others say the universe in infinite and therefore it is not necessary to expand into anything
The truth is that they don't know and they've been plenty wrong before. There was a theory held that the universe had no beginning,,,THE STEADY STATE THEORY
which died when proof of the BB radiation was discovered by two Bell Lab scientists.
I'm a believer in the multiverse. Our universe is just one in an endless sea of universes - where all definite, probable, possible improbable and impossible realities can and do exist.
I def understand u and Buuub08 is right in a way. the universe not expanding. it only looks as if it is. there is no way the universe could expand cause that gives it a begining and that means something had to happen for it to begin (crapy BIG BANG theroy). Time do not exsist, at least its not what we think it is. Time is Space, timespace albert einstain called it. timespace is infinite. Infinite isnt a never ending srtraight line (a striaght line has a begining). Infinite is clearly a loop. :)
Man, all the expanding universe and big bang shit is just that - shit. Its a GUESS. Since humans have a pathalogical need to explain things they come up with the craziest of ideas.
By me the universe never started and it never ends, it is not expanding (who the hell did come up with that?).
Science bases the expanding theory on what? That galaxies move away from each other AS FAR AS WE CAN SEE. They might as well be moving closer elsewhere, we dont know that.
Scientists dont even know what the universe is and yet they speak as if they saw themselves when and how it originated. That nonsense.
They say the universe has an age (13 or 27 in some cases billions of years), ye.. ok and what was before that? from where did the big bang come from? And guess what - they dont know, yet they say there was a big bang, despite there is NO evidence for that, just the pathalogical need to explain things that are far beyond human understanding.
like the universe could be sitting in a test tube and the universe, us , earth, black holes, galaxes could all just be sitting in a glass tube and be an experiment by some other life form
There is nothing outside the universe not even space in which universe can expand into. The correct definition of expansion of universe would be that_universe is expanding its existence_.
Its all so confusing and so interesting. Right after i made this i seen a video that explained the expansion with a balloon. It basically also said its expanding its existence (like you said) but its expanding in time. and what we've expanding past is the past and what were expanding into is the future. at least that's how i understood it. thats even crazy then what i originally thought. thats what i love about the universe it really have no limits and there is no proof of anything yet.
so if its expanding into nothing... What is nothing??

2. Let´s take long chutes from different materials into the space and place
telescopes to them to observe some known place of a star. If the energy that
comes to the chutes makes the photons moving in the chute to bend towards
the chute, we can this way observe that this star concerned seems to be in a
different place than it is known to be!

4. Even Einstein once told us that the massive the object is, the slower the
time is.
In relation to the size of a star there is much more energy / substance in
the stars than in the photons. The substance / energy is denser in the stars
than what it is in the photons. The time of the stars is so slower than the
time of the photons!

This way the time of the old photons is faster than the time of the new
photons and the photons radiating from the stars do not tranfer their
kinetic energy to the photons passing by the star as much as the photons
coming towards the star do. This way the light bends at the same time it
passes the star without supposedly the star would bend the space!
