There are constantly helicopters and jets and planes flying over spanaway because of McChord / Lewis joint base. There are 2 parts of Spanaway, the good part and the bad part. I fortunately live in the good part. But only a few blocks down it gets really bad. Stabbings and firefights have taken place around there. The school directly behind my house had a kid who just got stabbed by another kid just 2 or 3 months ago. I love the place though, and always will.

yeah. i know a bit about songwriting, not a lot, but i know great when i hear it.

anyone who can evoke "pictures in your head" through music and lyrics is pretty special.

the song's not even overly complex, it's just fully realized. anyone can sting together some "weird" chords, that easy.

very few have the ability to completely nail the moment and get so close to "exactly right." that is MUCH harder to do, and more satisfying i think.

she is the full package. towering over most.

The first part of this song references McChord A.F.B. and Spanaway Washington. McChord A.F.B. borders Spanaway and when the aircraft fly in the local pattern they fly directly over Spanaway following Pacific Ave at 1500'. These are large cargo aircraft and so they look even lower when they are flying at that altitude. Also Spanaway is a poor town.
