I had to split this into 4 comments. You can carry a tune. You can sing. It's good. I enjoy it, but you're NOT settin' my hair on fire...yet. I think you can. The tune's coming through, but there's a sameness to much of what you do - almost a monotone.

There ARE places that should be punched. Sometimes you do. Sometimes you just barely do. Occasionaly you don't. Sometimes you get lazy at the end of a word; rarely, even at the beginning. Don't let yourself do that. Be conscious of EVERY word. And there are places to let us SEE what you feel in the words. I see a little. I don't see enough. I'll suggest you need to feel it more, then let it out, before you're going to have US feel it more.

If you were a writer, I'd say, "Find YOUR voice." Put yourself INSIDE the guy that's telling us his story. BE that guy. Let us hear more of HIS feelings - his hurts, his sadness, his joys - and show us his emotion. The artists whose songs you're singing do it. You don't have to BE them, or sound just like them, but they "made it" because they let us see it and make us feel it, not just hear it. One more thing: be critical with yourself, honest with yourself.

If you admire him, try another, like "Nothin' On But The Radio", or "Lovin' You Against My Will". Fact of life: you're not going to be able to do everyone's work REALLY well. No one can. Move on to what does work for you and nutrure that. I'm gonna hang around a while. You're the best I've heard here so far...
