I am curious as to why the snake didnt constrict more, crushing the mantis. I have seen snakes(non-constrictors) crush predators and prey when in similar circumstances. Any thoughts?

@Caveman0713 There isn't very much in the way of mass for the snake to constrict. Plus, I'd imagine that the snake would be a bit disoriented from the awkward positioning to even properly wrap itself around the mantis.

I've seen snakes use their body to squish ants that were irritating its skin. Its like your fingers, if anything gets between them its squished
