  • Correct transation to Kurshi would be "Curonians". It was a Baltic tribe living in western parts of Latvia and Lithuania. They were warriors, excellent sailors and pirates. More information in Wikipedia.

  • To all u guys debating origins and genetics here, chk [eupedia dot kom]. All baltics r roughly the same setup. Main haplogroups are R1a (general eastern europe) N1c1 (uralic/siberian) and what's funny, estonians r the least finno urgic/uralic.

I swear I'm going to marry a Latvian man or something when I'm older ;D I know I'm going to move somewhere in Eastern Europe, so I can listen to people speaking similar-ish languages. • Note a complete lack of comments from natives. :) Found them completely by chance - theyre good, but to my mind the language is not quite suited for the growling style, goes very well with the lyrical songs though.

  • Solzhenitsyn was Latvian I believe, was he not? Cheers yes, to the Latvian people. Norway and the Baltic are the Black Metal homelands

  • Awesome.

    We <3 Latvia. :)

    Cheers from brother Lithuanians. :)

  • Latvians our only true friends, not like poles or others.

You probably know who I am...

    hail´s to latvia.

  • @SHScarrow axe

  • Great pagan Fire, guide us to Freedom!

  • @RussianTrue Go to hell you pathetic communist crap.

  • Communist???????

  • @latvietissssss Communism is actually a pretty awesome system. (community, communion) Just some guys (e.g. Stalin) fucked it up and ruined the global symbolic meaning for it. Also, humans generally are too greedy and envious. Just as there are people of Russian nationality that ruin the nation's image, there are also Latvians that do the same. Tukša muca tālu skan.

  • @RussianTrue

  • @Areillis @DelTevynes nx jus angliskai rasinejates? ;D

  • @CoffeMovieStudio nes čia ne Lietuviškas klipas ir kad daugiau suprastu žmonių

  • Oh do I love this song...

  • Kurši (. Latviešu valodā Kurši, vairāk seno formu kursi, vienību skaits kursis, senajās hronikās Kors, kђrs, vācu un Latīņamerikas Curones) - Balt valsts 16 gs, un pēc tam daļa no pašreizējās Latvijas un Lietuvas narodov.

  • kursi

  • kurshi-it is fantastic and historic

  • The British Empire would have fucking shit themselves if these guys turned up to the shore like that, fuck charging the fields.

  • I think they needed a bit of help lighting that.

  • HAIL!

  • This.... is.... EPIC!!! Mana mīļākā grupa! Biju uz Kurbada atklāšanu! Just... Pure... AWESOME!

  • Good as hell!

  • KUURINMAA...

  • @Raimoization The curonians are the ancesyors of latvians, not lithuanians, so they are kurši not kursiai and baltu vikingi not vikingai.

  • @migkillerphantom Finno-Ugrian Languge family:Finnic("Baltic Finnic")Finnish and closest relatives:Karelian,Ludian,Vepsian,Ingrian,Votian,Estonian,Livonian.

  • @Raimoization is it? As Lithuania was the biggest country in Europe, I've seen the map, it was big but going to the south, and somehow Latvian lands were not occupied, so you might be little different after all. Though still brothers for sure! ;)

  • @migkillerphantom they are both and not the direct ancestors though they were just one of the Batic tribes closely related to Latvians ,Lithuanians, and Prussians if you like, but they were forced due to the crusaders to assimilate with what is today known as Samogitians in Lithuania. That is how the Samogitians (Žemaičiai) as such came into the being. The Curonians brought their dialect which had an impact on the languaged of those Lithuanians in the past.

  • @migkillerphantom And of course they have also assimilated with Latvians as well.No doubt about it mate. You won't believe but there are people around the Curonian lagoon in Lithuania who claim themselves as true Kuršiai although they don't speak a word in Curonian. They are very good fishermen and are keen in smoking fish.

  • @Areillis Yep... too bad we Lithuanians are being slowly exterminated by fucking foreigner...

    Uz Baltija/Sarmatija/Lietuva/Samogitia !!!

  • @DelTevynes your thinking is not in favour to the Balts though you should be more optimistic bro.As long as we sing our beautiful songs & dance our dances & celebrate our festivals then nothing ever gonna stop us.The nation's streangth is not in quantity but in its great Spirit.Otherwise what's the use of that nation which is huge & powerful but has forgotten its real roots of its ancesters & has become very bleak & boring & indifferent to the other cultures for it lost its own identity longago

  • @Areillis Buy how can I be optimistic when in class teacher asks if we still have that love for our country I ofcourse say yes but many say no because of the economy...It just breaks my heart. But yes we should be optimistic brother.

  • @DelTevynes Exterminated? By who?

  • @0Letten0 by foreignors...How can we preserve our culture if here is multyculturism,a economy that can't survive on it's own and of course polish and russian emigration...

  • @migkillerphantom Sometimes those Lithuanians from the Eastern part of Lithuania can hardly understand the Samogitians as they speak. :) I'll have you know that the Samogitians themselves are divided into four different dialects but they do understand one another as noone else very well. :)

  • latviesu roks...

  • @doluss es gandrīz saprotu, bet ne gluži (I almost understand, but not quite). Tas ir dīvaini. ( That's a strange feeling )

  • @migkillerphantom sometimes i feel the same. especially when i hear speaking, not reading :)

  • greetings from Lithuania. at this moment we're playing soccer against Spain

  • thank you braliukas, I have geat time in Siauliu dienos 2010 at your concert near lake at 09 12 :)

  • the bagpipe made this song exceed 100% perfection.

  • Hailisa!

You guys are awesome! I just ran across your band yesterday. Very awesome music. As a Romuva and Asatru, I can really appreciate how you guys weave in the folk tales and lore into your music. To put it in Celtic terms...bands like your and Eluviete are the new bards! Keep on kicking ass and rocking on brothers!

We just saw Eluviete with Amon Amarth in Chicago...I hope to have the pleasure of seeing you guys as well sometime soon.

  • Im new to this band! This is the best i have heard in a while!

  • ...Vikings...What FUN!...Baltic tribes arrived in the central part of Vidzeme(Midland)Kurland in 6th and 7th centuries AD.They were the ancestors of modern day Latvians ,and they either pushed out or assimilated many of the FINNO-UGRIC people who had been THERE BEFORE. These tribes later produced the Estonian,Karelian, FINNISH and -in Latvia s case- LIV NATIONS!!! MIN IZAAMO,MIN sindimo Uod aarmaz raanda sa,kus raandanaigaas kazaabod vel vanaad, vizaad piedaagod....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....

  • @Kvazarpower how could you forget Lithuania? We still have the oldest living language on Earth, 6000+ and our Sarmatian culture.

  • @MrAmethystium argi 6000 metų?

  • @doluss daugiau nei 6000 :)

  • @MrAmethystium eik tu, nori pasakyt kad seniausia indo-europiečių kalba?

  • @doluss taip, butent taip ir yra :)

  • @MrAmethystium Make sure...If you think about CURONIANS(Kursiai)-Baltu Vikingai-Yes. But Finno-Ugric peoples there before Balts....

  • @Raimoization Term balts is created by German politicians in 1890 Something...

Todays Genetic composition of Lithuania is 40% Finno Ugric, 60% indo-European...

  • @MrAmethystium Sorry man, but i think 40% Of Finno - Ugriac only in your HEAD....Tell me better about -POLONIZATIONS-????..........

Man atrodo pacioj zydu Wikipedijoi yra parasyta

  • @MrAmethystium žodžiu subinėn mus bando įkišt. be gėdos ir sąžinės. tokia ta pinigų galia

  • @MrAmethystium ...I belived Lithuanians speak old-lithuanian or OLD-PRUSSIAN but not Livonian-!

  • Hi, neighbours! Awesome video. Thats kurshi, fear of scandinavian wikings....
