  • eds up!

  • i love that ending!!!

  • 11 people hate lobsters

  • if i had a million dollars id be rich!

  • YAY what an awesome mix!

  • Love it!

  • Wow, they did Blues Clues at the end lol

  • At a sweet 16 birthday party at my church's Culture Center, I sang this on karaoke, and I sang both parts myself.

  • I'm not sure...... but it seems the Barenaked Ladies took a nasty spiral to the state fair gigs.

  • Was bummed when Page left. Thanks for posting this. So much fun. Great souvenir! Stay well.

  • absolutely bonkers but brilliant!!

  • Absolutely bonkers but brilliant!

  • You need to get a canadian friend to send you a box of Kraft dinner to get signed :)

  • If I had a million dollars, I'd have these guys play this song to wake me up each morning. I'm guessing life wouldn't suck so much... if I had a million dollars...

  • i love the fact that the person brought a box of kraft to get autographed

  • I don't think Weird Al was there.

  • @wardust02 he is. the guy taping was on the wrong side of the stage and so unfortunately Al was blocked by the side of the stage. But you can kind of make out his face at 5:35

  • Haha this is amazing

  • what did weird al parody this of???

  • @yankheads He didn't parody this song but he played the accordion in this performance of it. The song Al parodied was "One Week", which became "Jerry Springer".

  • I've heard it boasted that if you can play an accordion, you can learn practically anything with keys. So that means that Al could probably play piano if he really wanted to. He could have played that piano and been a serious musician. (His original music is incredible, if it weren't comedy it would make great pop.) But what career path did Al choose? The single coolest one he possibly could, that's what he chose.

  • O_O

BNL...with Weird Al accompanying on accordion....on the same stage???

How did the whole crowd not burst into flames from the pure musical amazingness?

  • this is the skiniest ive ever seen page an i brought a kd box to when they played mcmurray

  • What's the final little verse that he sings at the end?

  • @TheWanderingAngel - it's the mail song from Blue's Clues. probably for the kids there.

  • ahh great performance. One of the few groups that can sound great on cd and live in concert.

Funniest thing though is that in WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2009 this is my Brother's create-a-wrestler theme.

  • @TheIllustriouBlueJay - Seriously, he used it as a theme? That actually makes me lol XD

  • @TheWanderingAngel yeah. funniest thing ever!

  • They're so happy. :] I love this song.

  • This is fantastic... just awesome.

  • How cool was that. Thanks so much for the post. Great band. Hope they survive.

  • aha lmfao. love this song espescially the part about the kd, and the fancy ketchups:P .

  • steve looks really thin.

  • he looks great! :]

  • yeah i was thinking the same thing... i didn't know that was him until he started singing lol

  • @lonelygnome1

    Cocaine is a helluva drug...

  • so strange seeing those children dance right in front, looks weird.

  • Steven seems disconnected from the band during this performance. Like he doesn't want to be there.

  • I'm not too sure about that. The stage was a lot smaller than anything Al was used to when he toured, so he probably felt that it would be best to stay in the back and out of the way. He seemed very into the performance, and did a very good job for them on the accordion. There's another recording of this, and you can see Al pretty well. You could tell he was enjoying it.

  • I wasn't typing about Al, I was typing about Steven Page. Just trying to discern exactly when the break between Steven and the rest of the band occured. Everything I've read and seen makes me think Steven didn't want to leave, but the rest of the guys were ready to press on at a much faster pace than Steven was.

  • Oh yeah. It's a real shame too. If he ends up with some solo work, I'll check, it out, but I really wish he didn't quit BNL.

But if he felt they were going to fast for him, that is his decision, and he could most definitely find other work.

  • I imagine it is incredibly hard to continue producing pop music after 20 years, especially if you have other musical interests.

  • first as a black man bling my self .then smoke some ganja

  • WOW!!!

  • OMG signed box of KD FTW!!!

  • i wish i had been there, i love Weird al and Bnl

  • if the drugs made him do this song, then drugs are cool, end of dicussion. awesome song, gonna play it in a competition!

who knows maybe i'll try some drugs to sing it like that!!!! :P

  • Aw man! What a phenomenal and fun time that must have been! I wish I had been there!

  • no Steven Page(in the pink shirt) says on his Blog that he lost all the weight naturally(over 100 lbs)

I LOVE WEIRD AL AND BNL!!!! :D

  • Given that this was around the exact same time he got busted for cocaine and marijuana possession, I'd bet it was the coke.

  • your a genius. marijuana possession does mean he would lose weight. He got booked with coke once. DOES NOT MAKE HIM AN ADDICT. If he wasn't in one of the most oppressed nations at the time he never would have been caught. The search would never have happened in his native Canada. Guess thats because we believe in personal freedom

  • Marijauna wouldn't. Which is why I said /explicitly/ I bet it was the coke, and I never said he was an addict either. It's hard to put words in someones mouth when the original words are right there above yours.

And where it happened is irrelevant, he was still breaking a law, no matter which country it was. Hence "UNLAWFUL possession".

  • Cocaine is illegal in Canada, too. Example: in '07 a 13 yrold !!! Alberta girl was charged with cocaine posession after her house was searched. The United States is far from the most oppressive country in the world in its punitive stance on drug possession. The penalty in some places-- like Singapore-- is the death penalty. I'm not defending the U.S's ridiculous war on drugs, but your information is incorrect.

  • sick sick sick video!!!!!!!

  • is that the real lead singer in the pink shirt cuz he looks way skinnier......maybe its all the cocaine

  • what event was this? it looks awesome!

  • ROTFLMAO about the tree fort/club thing...sounds like someone's been playing "Mobster" lol

  • Thanks for posting this. I love this song, and seeing them live on video is better than not seeing them live at all. (though it'd would be cool to really see them live sometime).

  • They put on the craziest live show ever! I saw them...wow...10 years ago!!!! When did I get so old? Is that a wrinkle? Where did all the time go? Oh, yeah, so BNL is awesome. Make it a priority! Although I wonder how much they will be touring without Steven P. Hmmm....

  • I know, time flies, they are still great tho!! i remember Gordon coming out when i was in high school.... still love ''em tho.

  • I was there, and it was awesome.

  • omg weird al!!!!! haha 1000000 lobsters, lol al's awesome!

  • Lol, million lobsters.

  • sound quality on that video camera is awesome.

    BNL play awesome live anyway

  • lol they added that mail song from blues clues at the end

  • lol eat it.

  • Weird Al is the best accordion player1

  • he is a master. superfast.

  • If I had 1000000 lobsters ha thats hillarious im a huge fan of "Weird" Al, and the reaction on the BNL faces were priceless. Thanks for posting.

  • You can see him at 5:33.

  • Steve looks weird being so thin! And that is the ugliest plaid shirt ever, but he pulls it off. Go figure. Thank you so much for uploading this! It's awesome.

  • I didn't really recognise him.. except that, well, he is a barenakd lady.

  • I saw BNL live in Denver. What a great show! I'm so sorry we can't see Al in your vid. He's a sweetie. As always, the guys put on a great show. Congrats on your cool experience!

  • Much to his embarassment...Lol!

  • This is fantastic... just awesome. Thanks for posting.

  • You are flippin amazing for posting this! Thank you!

  • Steven Page doesn't look like himself when he's so thin like that!

  • oh. my. GAWD!

I would have literally killed to be there!

I've got these guys together in my top celebrity row on MySpace, and my old screenname was WeirdMeatBNL! (Al, Aday, and the Ladies!)

Steve, why oh why did you ever forsake your solo page????

  • ha ha, I see my wife and kid. Thanks for posting!

  • Bzzzt. I brought along the Kraft for the band to autograph it after the show [though I ran into Ed early, hence his lone signature in the shot]. I actually had no idea they would play this song at the show, considering it's billed a promotional set for their new album. When they got to the Kraft line, I remembered I had the box on me and thought it would be amusing to dig it out and show it. So nyeh.

  • @DandonTRJ

    where is this being performed?

  • @martyntownsend1

The Grove in Los Angeles, CA

  • @btd27 your gay

  • Great video! BNL rules and that was so nice of them to let Al play with them! Too bad you didn't get such a good view of him, but that must have been awesome to hear him play the accordion! Thanks so much for posting.

  • Thanks so much for posting this--it's great! What was the event--just an outdoor concert?

Please reply with top 3 BNL albums: Mine are Stunt, Maroon, Gordon.

I honestly didn't like Barenaked Ladies Are Men. Not their typical sound.

  • Awesome! Thanks for sharing this, I love seeing Al performing with other bands.

    Great song!

  • thanks for posting this!!

  • It's a shame you can't see Al, but the accordion sounds wonderful! Thanks for posting this. :)

  • that's brilliant!! these guys are so funny live! looks like it would have been a blast to be there. thanks for posting
