For the comment about him using the steps in the 1st shot, look again, the steps r on the other side of where he is, making it impossible for him to step onto anything to do it that way. The 2nd shot on the roof of a building, notice how his body tends to lean back? He is sitting on something and just leaning back a bit for balance as he is being lifted by other ppl out of the shot, likely being held up by a few fishing wires and a pully
