i think the reason i'm so fascinated by this track is that it's the only one i know that showcases esthero's early sound with complete clarity. it has an unusual, enigmatic kind of quality. her new sound is still gorgeous, but too assertive.

She doesn't sound more pop friendly to me at all. Like someone else said, Nelly can be whiny and her music is a lot more commercial. Esthero's music is less run of the mill. Even if she had a pop friendly voice, her music is less pop friendly than Nelly's.
