Please Respond To This Message! I just started learning circuitry and I really need to know what wires to get! I want good quality wires not that cheap crap from walmart (unless its recommended). And any components that are common in a circuit.
Can you do this with any form of game or does it have to be with the Gameboy camera? I'm intending on doing something like this myself, currently in the process of pricing everything up and haven't done anything like this before so detail matters, cheers :)
i installed a back light and did this pro sound, would the LTC module still work fine with all of that? i do have the resistors for the back light installed to that first ground spot (located kind of above the battery connection). would it still be fine to connect this along side all of that?
you have study hands and alot of knowledge hhow to solder stuff, but personaly i wanne see some one trying to replace the monochrome screen for a color screen,
but offcource to get color it also requires a chip wich translate B&w games in to color.
i think you may have made a mistake on the prosound, on the five solder points next to the volume pot, the bottom one is ground, so you might find that your prosound is now mono
@RustyNex so doing one of these pro sound mods does mono or stereo? i was thinking about the speaker n this mod only. i know the headphone jack is stereo. sorry about the wording.
@thedirtys2006 the pro sound mod is a way of getting a clear line level output from the gameboy. it basically removes the internal amplifier from the headphone jack to reduce the noise and gain of the headphone jack output. because its a jack output it will be stereo, only the speaker is mono, you can't prosound the internal speaker, there wouldn't be enough power to drive the speaker with that signal.
@RustyNex ya this video is hell to follow, with the shaky camera at that part. i keep getting left channel only... any suggestion on what the correct setup is? (pm if you want)
You solder like shit. I hope your not selling your work to anybody and I've seen better schematics on a napkin!

How do you make a switch to toggle between the crystal and the whachumacallit?

I'm a dumbass on resistors, does it go two way? If it's one way, how can I tell which way is which?
superpoop899 3 months ago
@superpoop899 works any way

@superpoop899 Good to ask with some parts but resistors have no polarity.

@animally2 The speaker was removed in this mod. Change the location of the potentiometer to keep the speaker.

Thank you so much I am prosounding my gameboy tomorrow!

Is there anyway to mod a gameboy so that i can play my bass through it? If that makes any sense at all.

but in theory it must be possible.

This is why I partially want to try more electronic hardware courses in college.

Your soldering skills are off the hook.

well it works, but only the left channel.
i tried adding the right channel to the third of the big connections on the output, but to no avail.
i'm thinking that cutting the last black wire might do it... but i'm not sure...

Yeah, I noticed that he did that as well...

@RustyNex i believe so also. but isn't gameboy's mono to begin w/? w/ only one speaker.
thedirtys2006 1 year ago
@thedirtys2006 the internal speaker is mono, but the CPU outputs stereo, hence the dot matrix stereo sound written above the screen ;-)

@reconstructiv move the two wires up by one pin and you should have stereo

How about a GetLofI 555 Timer Module video. I'd like to see a toy or something given the lfo option. Thanks!
