I stated that homosexuality was once listed on the APA's list of sexual mental illnesses. It was removed when a gay psychiatrist rallied to have it removed, not because it was no longer found to be a mental illness, but to have it accepted into society as a normal lifestyle. It is a choice as hundreds of thousands of gays have left the lifestyle to marry opposite-sex partners and raise their own children. No genetic evidence was found in a full genome on gay males. Could you you fall in love with a person of the same gender, marry them and spend the rest of your life with them? Could you be a loving, committed spouse to someone of the same gender? If you can't then you know it's not a choice.
Our physical life is a very short time within eternity. Some people live alone all their life, some think they dog is their child. Marrying someone of the same sex does not prepare your for eternity. Same sex couples do not exist there. Your feelings are misleading you
I realize life is short. How do you know if a same-sex couple will spend eternity with each other or not? How do you know it is not *your* feelings that are misleading *you*?
My relationship with God tells me something very different. I am told to love. Not judge. Not hate. Not discriminate. Not guess what *might* be there fate versus mine. Just love. Period.
What of people don't want to be prepared for eternity? Our life is finite for a reason. Eternal life is eternal suffering!
Same sex couples don't exist? That's because they don't want to be there. They have each other and that's all they want. Your religious dogma is misleading you.
Gay people are not victims of sexual desires, because sex is a very small component of being gay. Stop being hyper-focused on sex.
You didn't answer my question. Could you chose to be a loving committed partner to someone of the same gender? Beliefs aside for a moment, would your soul love someone of the same physical gender as a spouse? Could you make yourself do that and be happy for your lifetime?
There is so much to say why gay sex is a dead end and a fruitless endeavor. It has not futur and dies within a generation. People with same sex attactions should spend their energy to find their original masculinity or femininity instead of making it worse by falling for it. If gay's died out in a generation, there would be no gay people today. Gay people typically come from straight parents. It's like being left handed. My parents and grandparents are not, but every once in a while a left handed child is born in our family.
You are too focused on "sexual activities". That is not what being gay is about. When you think about straight couples, is sex all you think about?
How is it that you know what true love is? You have not walked in a gay person's shoes to know whther or not their love is true, have you? I stated that homosexuality was once listed on the APA's list of sexual mental illnesses. It was removed when a gay psychiatrist rallied to have it removed, not because it was no longer found to be a mental illness, but to have it accepted into society as a normal lifestyle. It is a choice as hundreds of thousands of gays have left the lifestyle to marry opposite-sex partners and raise their own children. No genetic evidence was found in a full genome on gay males. You mince words.

The APA removed homosexuality as an illness because they did a blind study with gays and straights being unidentified, and found there to be NO difference. There was NO gay pressure to remove it. Another reason that homosexuality was traditionally viewed as a mental illness was because of the large numbers of unhappy people who sought psychiatric care. Most gay people who seek help do so because of living in society that doesn't accept homosexuality. We are surrounded by bigots, in case you haven't noticed (look in a mirror). The truth is that most homosexuals are quite happy the way we are. I feel blessed to be gay. I've lived a much more rewarding life as a result.

Secondly, sexual orientation is NOT a lifestyle. Learn the difference. Sexual orientation is an INNATE characteristic that is IMMUTABLE. People who "convert" to Mormonism and "pretend" to be straight are no more straight than is a left handed person right handed when they "mask" themselves as right handed. Who and what we have sex with is indeed a choice. If one can be a homosexual for decades and then not be one, then it is definately a choice. Happens all the time. Mustanske, a researcher with UIC, did the 1st full genome scan in homosexual men, published 2005. He proved there is no genetic or inherited dimension to homosexuality. No positve genetic markers at all for being gay. Being human beings, we only behave like animals if we choose to. Science, law,public opinion nor fact is on your side.

funny how my comment got deleted just because I corrected iprazhm's comment about homosexuality being a mental illness. i will shorten it up. iprazhm believes that homosexuality is both a choice and a mental illness.......however, if that is the case, then that user is saying that mental illness is a choice. Also homosexuality doesn't disrupt anybody's way of everyday function nor doesn't it harm one's self. so its not considered a mental illness.

The truth is that christian conservatives are not good people, that is why they are attracted to a religion that demonizes others. It is a hate-based religion. They can't focus on doing good, they just enjoy finding enemies. Gay marriage is not a setback for marriage, it is another advancement. Marriage used to mean men owned their wives as property. They used to be arranged. Now they are voluntary, and based on love. With gay marriage, marriage is open to more people. More love and commitment for everyone. Gay people won't hide in straight marriages, leaving heterosexuals more likely to be with one another.
