NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I get this game, i'm gonna have to face Gohma (He was still pretty hard to me on the N64 version, I died like 10+ times) then the guards at Hyrule Castle (ITS SOOO HARD) ANd I'm upto here on the N64 version. Then after that, I have to beat other bosses, beat Ingo on the horse race beat Ganondorf, and do all these other hard stuff. >:(
It's awesome like it always was. Graphics definitely got a promotion and everything else is smooth. Somewhat easy since I've played this game many, many times on the originals. One thing I find funny is that some of the glitches found in the original can still be done here (Not any major glitches). Not sure if there are any other major changes, but it's great to relive the classic in modern eyes. Or for new players, they get to feel the classic game anew.

I just played the game for about 10 hours and I can say it is the best 3ds game out now. There are little differences between the n64 and 3ds versions. Obviously theirs the graphics. But there are some cut scenes that are a tiny bit different and the water temple is stupid easy now. The controls are great and the frame rate only drops a bit when the 3d is on. If i was to rate it out of 5 i would give it a 4.8 out of 5 :D
@Israel7449 not sure if the ReDeads will be that scary, but the gibdos will probably be pretty scary, but i am horrified to see the skulltullas, not the little skulltullas on the walls or the golden ones, i am talking about the giant ones like in the skulltulla house

@TheRandomPlayer It's grey till you become big link. When you leave the temple of time for the first time you see the giant red ring over death mountain :P it goes back to normal once you beat the fire temple because you kill Volgiva (hope I spelled that right). :D
Nice analysis! Good catch on the terrain changes in hyrule fields, I was hoping they'd put effort into tweaking the game and so far things are looking good. Naturally these pics have ot be treaded with caution, since while it is frowned upon, many game producers love hiring photoshop gurus to make early screenshots look much better then what will actually hit the shelves.

Something i don't really like about this game is that it is apparently not a remake. Its just a port with updated textures, graphics and character designs. Other then that, i can wait to beat the shit out of Oot!!...Agian!

They didn't go with 'SSBM-type Link' they went with Ocarina of Time Link. Melee Link as well as Soul Calibur Link are both OoT Link designs.
No, they didn't go with Majora's Mask Link, the belt was added to show there was actually something holding the sword to his body, the same way they added a handle to the shield.

@R3KZ The Demoscene in Europe will give you the graphics you crave without a game attached and that is where wonderful graphics apply because it's an art form. People who bought the game Dragons Lair years ago bought it for the graphics but then due to the shit gameplay didn't bother with it past a few hours, whereas a simple 8 bit game like Mario, The Last Ninja..etc would keep you engrossed for hours.

@R3KZ And i am NOT saying that great graphics should not be used, but it's the main selling point for a good majority of games today because there are literally no hardware limitations anymore. If you can get a mix of both and get it right then you are onto a winner :) Sadly, that is very rare.
@R3KZ That's about as likely as a Mario or Metroid game on PC. The Legend of Zelda is not a third party franchise. Nintendo is pretty much responsible for everything involving this title. In, fact, aside from Mario, Zelda is Nintendo's top flagship franchise. It would almost be financial suicide to release the game on other consoles.

@lDFElSmith Well that's your opinion, I have a Wii and It hardly gets used because it has no HD, horrible controller, Mario games suck now (Mario Kart Wii and New Super Mario Bros. was alright) but Super Mario Galaxy and Super Paper Mario was garbage.. That new Zelda Skyward sword isn't looking too great compared to the rest of the Zelda's. Nintendo has too many kiddy games, while Xbox has Halo, Gears of War, Call of Duty, Grand theft Auto, Battlefield and soo many other amazing games.
@R3KZ Nah, even with more "adult-like" video games, Nintendo will kick shit with better games, compare Two Worlds II with OoT, OoT Wins, Why? because it's not a fucken goose chase for the letters just to name a save, compare OoT to Oblivion, I love both games, but OoT will still win since it's more creative, but Oblivion still has great features in it. But yes, Wii just failed since of the remotes, if it was Controller Based (Ex.. N64, gamecube) it would still be good.

@axinkiewicz true, the gamecube used to be able to compete because hardware wise - it was comparable to the xbox and ps2, but not anymore, since nintendo chose to abandon the ultra graphix hooked kids for new innovative game controls. and the people who enjoy motion controls arent the same who enjoy the oldschool controllers. i have learned to like the wiimote, but the wii is lame for anything that isnt a game from nintendo themselves. the ports are usually poor as shit.
@Majorasword64 I have not yet had a dive into the ps4 or microsofts new machine, but i hear the Wii U is supposed to have some quite neat hardware, and from seeing its capabilities on the Wii U Zelda Demo i am sure it will be hard to beat. i think that finally nintendo will be able to compete like they did back in the day. hope they dont screw the online mode over with friend codes again.

The PS4 and nexbox have a possibility of being aimed for the casual audience and the PS4 will not be much more powerful than the PS3.The Nexbox has been rumoured to either only be %20 more powerful than the Wii U or %200 weaker, and Nintendo said they won't overprice it since that was the main reason why the 3DS didn't sell allot.They are also thinking about changing the name to avoid confusion.
You can play this for wii. Just set it up on your Internet and then go to wii shop mode, then search games and look under nintendo 64, Zelda oot, then buy it with your credit card. It's only like 10-12 dollars. I play it all the time. You also need the wii classic controller.

I don't understand why they're making it for a DS system. Why not make it for the Wii or something? Then we could actually use real controllers (possibly Gamecube? ...Or some of the new Wii controllers instead of remotes) and not have a stylus or anything. Sure, 3D would be fun, but I would really prefer to use a controller instead of a stylus, and have a SLIGHTLY bigger screen. Those are my only complaints.
Okay so we know that they are changing some elements of the game in the remake Link won't have to go in and out of his inventory to change his iron boots and apparently you won't have to back track so much through the water temple in order to chage the water level. @Leygoes I felt the same way until I looked at the games side by side. I think we might have some bias because when the game came out, these graphics were super crisp and new.
3DS is significantly more powerful than the N64. They're arguing it's more powerful than a gamecube as well. So it's not really the system so much as the style, I'd say.

@TensaZangetsu7777 Yeah the constant menu hopping with the boots is what made this temple a royal pain in the ass. I'm assuming with the new interface that'll make the whole thing much less frustrating. In fact, overall, OoT is an incredibly easy game anyway, most of the difficulty comes from fighting the interface

@R3KZ The Demoscene in Europe will give you the graphics you crave without a game attached and that is where wonderful graphics apply because it's an art form. People who bought the game Dragons Lair years ago bought it for the graphics but then due to the shit gameplay didn't bother with it past a few hours, whereas a simple 8 bit game like Mario, The Last Ninja..etc would keep you engrossed for hours.

In, fact, aside from Mario, Zelda is Nintendo's top flagship franchise. It would almost be financial suicide to release the game on other consoles.

@axinkiewicz true, the gamecube used to be able to compete because hardware wise - it was comparable to the xbox and ps2, but not anymore, since nintendo chose to abandon the ultra graphix hooked kids for new innovative game controls. and the people who enjoy motion controls arent the same who enjoy the oldschool controllers. i have learned to like the wiimote, but the wii is lame for anything that isnt a game from nintendo themselves. the ports are usually poor as shit.

The PS4 and nexbox have a possibility of being aimed for the casual audience and the PS4 will not be much more powerful than the PS3.The Nexbox has been rumoured to either only be %20 more powerful than the Wii U or %200 weaker, and Nintendo said they won't overprice it since that was the main reason why the 3DS didn't sell allot.They are also thinking about changing the name to avoid confusion.

I don't understand why they're making it for a DS system. Why not make it for the Wii or something? Then we could actually use real controllers (possibly Gamecube? ...Or some of the new Wii controllers instead of remotes) and not have a stylus or anything. Sure, 3D would be fun, but I would really prefer to use a controller instead of a stylus, and have a SLIGHTLY bigger screen. Those are my only complaints.

@Leygoes I felt the same way until I looked at the games side by side. I think we might have some bias because when the game came out, these graphics were super crisp and new.
3DS is significantly more powerful than the N64. They're arguing it's more powerful than a gamecube as well. So it's not really the system so much as the style, I'd say.

I'm assuming with the new interface that'll make the whole thing much less frustrating. In fact, overall, OoT is an incredibly easy game anyway, most of the difficulty comes from fighting the interface
