fish ladders work for some species, esp the jumping kind like Salmon who travel upstream. There is no scientific evidence that Lung Fish will and that was one of the main reasons this dam was rejected on environmental grounds by the Commonwealth, thank god.

Beattie promised a solution to the Brisbane water crisis and it won him the election.
He then handed it over to Anna and the dam was scrapped, and what did Anna say ? "Oh well you can all buy your houses back if you want"

@tausyankee The Lungfish is endemic to the Burnett River as well and remains there today.

@tausyankee I don't believe they ever intended on building it, it was an election promise. Anna was never going to build it.
