  • well done

  • well done

  • whoa, totally feelin it

  • Great job man!

  • I love the capo in it, gives it a richer, more summery if you will, feel to it.

  • That's great Magnus any tab? Could you post the chords?

    Thanks. Jason

  • I speak for all of Canada when I say this kicks ass.

  • Bra jobbat! =)

  • Good job man, really quite a good job

  • another fag with an acoustic ruins a great song

  • @shootthemoon86 shut up.

  • wow! you just impressed me a whole lot and really made my day!!!

    thanks!

  • god work

  • Thar's Great!!! This is one of the best covers I have seen!

And voice It's like Paul Westerberg singing this song.

    Five Stars!!!

  • Your English isn't bad! Sounds a bit funny capoed up, but it's a good tune.

  • Freaking awesome. My hair is standing up - great reminder of how this fantastic song imprinted on me oh so many years ago. I was wondering if you would be able to replicate Bob's riff near the end!

    Great job!

    Thanks!

  • Fine interpretation of one of my favorite songs. Well done.

  • Wow... really well done dude. I love the dynamic in the guitar work. And what's better, I know all the words to one of my favorite songs... I love Husker, but sometimes you just can't tell what the hell they're sayin! lol

  • interesting way of playing it. nice though!!

  • I fucking love Husker Du! Great cover man.

  • Best folk guitar since Simon and G.

  • You are a genius!!!! Very good cover of an amazing song, well done!

  • Sweet mate! Love 'em and best job ever....so hard on acoustic too! Thanks!

  • miss the solo though, which is one of the greatest solo in rock history.

  • well done! respect. bob should see it...

  • Duuuude, this is sweet. You got the whole soft-loud thing down pretty effing well!

  • dude do you have a tab to your version?? its amazing

  • Not bad at all but way too easy to play without a capo so I don't know why you chose to do that especially on an acoustic.

  • Quite easy to answer that one... First of all, it allowed me to lower the key in a simple way. Secondly, it gives another colouring to the song compared to the original.

  • that was really good.

do you know the chords for green eyes.

bare in mind im just a beginner.

    cheers

  • excellent

need to play it/hear it right now.

    love the lilting/ picking bits

you love this song almost as much as me ?

    Well fkin done

Sort the ending out though. Mould killed it with a top outro

  • shit

  • i liked your cover dude, kudos for you :)

  • great cover. one of my ten fav husker songs. I play this song too (without singing). try the the intro it's easy. very good.

  • I don't remember the last time a YouTube video caught my attention to where I watched it from beginning to end. Celebrated Summer has been my favorite Husker Du song since high school. You did an amazing! job Magnus.

  • Dude you fucking rock

  • Wow! That kicked ass! One of my fav Du songs. Great acoustic version!!

  • oh awesome, nice version!

  • I'm a huge Mould fan, and this is really an amazing version of this song, Magnus! Thanks for posting it. I've watched it at least a dozen times since you posted it. Keep them coming!

Btw, Husker Du is pronounces WHO-sker-DO (the Hu part and the Du part rhyme).

  • Wow this is awesome! It's cool to not here it played just like Bob plays it. Keep up the good work.

  • Nice that you think so! Cheers!

  • Forget the capo it's not so high. It does make it easier to play but it sounds too capo-esque.

The main part is all open chords-as this is what made husker du good for bands at the time. I saw it recorded.

    D, Cadd9, G, A, Bminor, Cadd9, G with the flourish to a D to start.

Also the intro-which I do not know and cannot play is played throughout the song in place of the main chords.

I don't know if this is what you thought to hear magnus. But there it is.

  • Well.. Actually I know how to pay the song the way Mr Bob Mould does.. More or less. But what's the fun in making an identical cover?

  • Amen.

    Good job dude.

  • Good playing man! THanks for the lesson. I've always loved this song.

  • wow amazing

  • Nice! =P i love it!!

  • Thanks for posting this song! It sounds even better acoustically!

  • Magnus

I love your work! The best way for me is learn a song is to watch some else playing it, hence I have speant all afternoon watching this fantastic version of celebrated summer learning how to play it. Any chance you can play See a little light from Workbook and post it? - I have speant a while looking for Tabs / Chords, they're all shite; it would be very much appreciated if you did.

Keep rocking in the free world!

  • Yeah! This is really good dude. I appreciate the choice for a cover too. Keep it up!

  • awesome cover.. and nice cd collection too!

  • Thanks! Yeah, cd's and lp's are good shit! A different feeling from mp3's...

  • awesome cover!! and nice cd collection too!

  • good stuff. one of my all time favorite songs.

  • Interesting use of the capo.

  • To lower the key compared to the original was a good idea. :)

  • good chops,good tune,good band,good lad!
