Imagine the choice, being able to walk into a Chrysler dealership in 1969 and pick a Barracuda or Roadrunner or Chrysler 300. The only thing that would stand in our way in those days was money - we didn't have any or at least not enough to buy a new car.
My mother has one of these rotting on her farm. And she won't give it to me to restore. I'm afraid that if I wait for her to die, it will far to late to do anything with it :(
So shoot the frame with rubberized coating. It will preserve it. She'll never know. I picked up a 64 Nova that had the whole frame coated, just scraped it all off with a blow torch and a scraper. It's brand new under there!
It's so sad to hear stories like that. I read once that there were two Charger Daytonas that got the '70 superbird aero bits ever in the world, and one of them is falling apart in some guy's lawn. Six-digit numbers won't convince him to move it from that spot.
most expensive thing on the Road Runner by comparison on any other old mopar was the freaking horn. They paid more money for rights and to get the damn thing to "beep".
That's a Fury, Plymouth's "full-size" entry in the market. It was used by many police agencies which required cars larger than the Satellites, along with the similar Dodge Polara. The 1969 Fury was available with almost any engine from the "Slant Six" up to the 440-4bbl "Super Commando"; no "factory" Hemis were available in 1969 Furies, although I'm sure that several were made in enthusiasts' garages.
In 1975 my brother passed up buying a 1969 Hemi Roadrunner for $2500 and bought a new Trans Am instead.

The car on the right at 0:11 is the epitome of a "bad car." What's the model of that?
And I'll bet the lights on that car are all incandescent! ;)
