Wow! This guy is so good that a few people were stumbling over their keyboard and accidentally hit the dislike button. Sickening how good he is. I think I'll go turn my guitar into a coffee table.
Congratulation!! I am still asking myself how can you play with one finger three chords leaving free the Mi (sec 16-17....) ... Well I am also asking many other things!! This Guajira is mega difficult! Who dislike should better listen Take that and shut up. Thanks to people like you guitar is still alive!
@TheMisskyo I totally agree, apart from one thing:it's not only players like him,as the reason guitar is still alive.
It's not an oldschool rock band, musical instruments and players who play them will always be around, such thing cannot die,and even if it could, people like him would not be the reason it would survive.
Love it!!!! In a fight who would win, you or Pepe Romero? Just Kidding, You are both my guitar heros! If you do get into a fight use your feet. Don't damage those fingers. :0) Please make more great videos! Did I ever tell you my favorite song was "Gran hota"? I didn't mean to keep it from you.
@XSpiderMattX you are right. I agree with you, his technique is unbelieveable. but there is something more important than the technique. Some flamenco guitar players can tell you more with one single note played with the thumb in the right moment (without this guy´s technique) than this guy with all his technique. I´ve never heard anything created by him, he´s been all his life playing paco, sabicas and other flamenco players. Very good technique , but he tells me nothing
Are the picado bits apoyando or tirando? Also, are you using your third finger or is it just a two finger pattern or a mix of both two finger and three finger patterns?

@XSpiderMattX for real dude, I've had lessons with Grisha for about a year and every time it's like hearing jesus sing you a lullaby. Every note is so impeccably clean, and the speed he displays in his videos doesn't compare to what he can really do when he lets loose. he told me he does 3 hours of technique a day and 4 hours of repertoire. Go see him live, he plays flight of the bumble bee and I'm pretty sure bumblebees can't even hear that fast
@MucusFelidae his slow music is very moving. If by any means you mean to say all he knows is how to play fast and not without any feeling or movement watch "Oracion" by Mr. Goryachev
Podrán decir lo que quieran... Pero es una de las mejores interpretaciones que he podido apreciar. Que gran guitarrista! técnica, sonido, modulaciones y autenticidad.
You play so good, but you haven't understood yet what flamenco means, your sound is very flat... You are probably a very good classical player, but you have to feel Flamenco in your bones and I think you don't.
@Pitoowy I think this is pretty good attempt for somebody who isn't of Spanish heritage. man...EXCELENTE!!!!!!!!! nunk antes habia escuchado una interpretacion de mi idolo tan buena, mae asi como decimos en costa rica, mis respetos maestro!!!
Although you play formidably fast, unfortunately the picado doesn't sound like flamenco. Look at Paco, Tomatito or Vicente Amigo how to improve your right hand style
@unknown9528 i know you said this a long time ago but i just saw it today, I don't think you've even watched Paco, I don't think his mannerisms are anything like Paco's, and if they were why would that be a bad thing? A lot of people are successful because they studied the great people they look up to.
@Dlajrsk8s Look he's a great guitarist im jut saying it doesn't seem like he has much of a distinct style of his own thats all im not trying to bash on him.
@unknown9528 Mannerisms?....how do you desribe mannerisms in a Flamenco? A musical style and dance that is based on feeling. And how do you describe a Musicians feelings towards his instrument, no-one can apart from him/herself, Flamenco is a dance, divided into different groups, of which detail can only in the ancient sense be felt as it is described. You know fuck-all mate.
@XSpiderMattX Look he's a great guitarist im jut saying it doesn't seem like he has much of a distinct style of his own thats all im not trying to bash on him.
you are right. I agree with you, his technique is unbelieveable. but there is something more important than the technique. I first heard this piece back around 1980 on an album by Paco, it became a big favorite. I have always thought that no one can pull it off note for note like Paco plays it, so it's just mind boggling that this guy has developed his technique to where he is able to play this so close to the original. Amazing.
@Grmpfhaarrgh1; That's there because an acoustic guitar projects only out in front of him through the soundhole. The people in front of him experience a much better sound than he does. Having that hole allows the sound to better project for him, so he can enjoy his own playing more and possibly detect mistakes easier.
Wonderful !! ... A very small lack of flamenco sense at some points...(( it sounds rather as a classic guitar )), but perfect as far as music is concerned... Great !! ... It's amazing how clean you play and how you go thru the notes...It seems even easy...
This guy is beyond superb! Grisha I hope to see you in concert one day!! Paco de Lucia is my favorite and you play his songs with perfection and passion.

I first heard this piece back around 1980 on an album by Paco, it became a big favorite. I have always thought that no one can pull it off note for note like Paco plays it, so it's just mind boggling that this guy has developed his technique to where he is able to play this so close to the original. Amazing.

For the person wondering what the hole is, it's called a porthole, all the new kickass handmade guitars come with one nowadays

is there a hole in his guitar? just below his head? ive never seen that
Grmpfhaarrgh1 1 year ago
@Grmpfhaarrgh1; That's there because an acoustic guitar projects only out in front of him through the soundhole. The people in front of him experience a much better sound than he does. Having that hole allows the sound to better project for him, so he can enjoy his own playing more and possibly detect mistakes easier.

Great sound, increadible finger dexterity, you can even see the muscles in his right hand pop out as he plays this with such ease!

Wonderful !! ... A very small lack of flamenco sense at some points...(( it sounds rather as a classic guitar )), but perfect as far as music is concerned... Great !! ... It's amazing how clean you play and how you go thru the notes...It seems even easy...

what kind of guitar is he using in this clip? looks like an alhambra model with built in microphone.

what kind of guitar is that?
squeadlieshero 2 years ago
It's a flamenco guitar, which is a slimmer and lighter variation of the classical, traditonally built from cyprus.

Grisha is at the very top of my list of favorite guitarists, even at his young age, early 30's. I wish he goes on tour more often.
