  • where's bigfoot?

  • the music really puts it there ;D

  • @mkbarth The reason why there are little squares are around the animals is when a plane comes by and takes the pictures and adding them in google earth in only Africa...

  • Next to the flamingos.. In the water .. there is a boat

  • @mkbarth

I know a way to find some other animals

If you see like a red plane in africa

    on google earth

    To see squares

    you might find other animals

  • mkarth its me again I want to know why they have like a little square around the animals

  • Yeah, alexp9ify. That's the way it appears in Google Earth. They are hi-res photos taken from a plane and Google Earth has added them in where each picture was taken.

  • I found the elephants

  • Thanks dude! I want to find more animals!

  • Yeah, shootsniper. You can find lots more animals in Africa. In Google Earth, under Layers / Gallery / National Geographic Magazine, put a check next to Africa Megaflyover. Zoom in on the red plane icons.

  • This is going to irritate me... I recognize that music...

Is there a movie where someone hums that tune? I swear I remember watching something where a character hums it...

  • Hey, SchoolgirlCrush121. The song is Baby Elephant Walk by Henry Mancini. From the movie Hatari!

  • Thanks. I figured out where I had heard it being hummed, it was in an episode of Friends where Phoebe is reading their minds and Joey is singing this tune in his head :D lol

  • SchoolgirlCrush121, Here's your vid: vE-aKcbxm10

  • haha, thank you so much, I couldn't find it anywhere! :D

  • @mkbarth

    got some more animals-

    1) 26°45'50.23"N 80° 3'0.62"W

    2) 29°48'36.76"N 91°59'42.03"W

  • Very nice finds, bugface11. Thanks.

  • grax mknarth

  • Wo is the song

  • vicxpompo the song is Baby Elephant Walk by Henry Mancini. From the movie Hatari!

  • hippos-tanzania = severe drought

    :(

  • Really severe! Zoom in at the location 6°37'43.63"S, 31° 8'9.83"E and look close. One is dead with vultures sitting next to it.

  • None are fake. I found all of them on Google Earth.

  • kind of a pointless video, but it was sweet!

  • sweet video, love the music, baby elephant walk isnt it?

  • Hey, frEAkofNatre. Yeah, by Henry Mancini from John Wayne's 'Hatari!'

  • these pictures aren't fake!

They tested a high definition camera on small parts of the earth.

    (sry for bad english^^)

  • You are right, Marsupilami93. Click on (more info) next to the video. There are links for how they did it.

  • I always feel like....

    Somebody's watching me....

  • the elephant one is not fake i got it marked down on my google earth its real he didnt put it there

  • i meant flying birds

  • The elephant family is fake!I was at the same distance: 0:47 and the eye alt was 430meters! Go Check it!

  • Hey, Hunboy123. It's good to use the tools to check if something is real or not. Yeah, you are right about the eye alt (was actually 432m when the vid was recorded, close enough). But move your cursor over the elephants and look at the elevation altitude. The ground is at 418m. So, subtracting, the point of view is 14 m above the elephants. These hi-res pictures were actually taken from a plane and added to the satellite photo background by Google Earth. Not fake, just better pictures.

  • i found a ufo 24°37'51.30"N, 82°48'33.21"W

  • the flamingos look like birds

  • Yeah, sportsfreaklol. They are birds. Go to Wikipedia and type in flamingos.

  • I lol'd at that comment.

  • Theres a dead hippo

  • Yeah, you can even see some vultures near it.

  • poor hippo

  • This is lovely! The hippo collection is just mad.

  • Genial your video!!

  • if you go to the flamingos north of them you will see a boat zoom in to the boat very closely and see what happens

  • Yeah, ballyros. That's a pretty good close-up for Google Earth. Thanks.

  • ok, what version is this?? My version does not magnify near this well.

  • Hey, DRHAT1. This is just the regular, free version of Google Earth. The trick is knowing where to find the hi-res images that they have scattered around. Look in the About This Video next to the vid for locations and links on these.

  • That one with the Flamingos...I found it and it has people boating around it lol...so0o creepy to see lol

  • Thanks man,I like the way you work mkbarth.

  • Well, OK, monks311. Maybe a couple of the hippos are a little dead. You can read the story behind this scene at w w w 7 . nationalgeographic . com / ngm/megaflyover/october/dispatch_0410.html#24

  • A little! RIGHT, i'm a little alive to.

  • lmao

  • OK ... are all the photos from google earth from satellite ? because on the flamingos photo you can se the shadow of a small aircraft in the water ... coincidence ?

  • All the pictures in this video and in Critters 2 are taken from planes. You can see them for yourself. They're in Google Earth under "Layers". Click on the [+] to look under "Featured Content" and then "National Geographic Magazine". When you put a check next to "Africa Megaflyover", symbols will appear all around Africa where they are.

  • The Flamingos image is not a sat image but a prhoto taken from a plane, you can see the shadow of it in the lower part of the image on Google Earth, not fake you morons

  • IS NOT A FAKE! Im checking the coordinates and its true!!! TRUE! Thanks for the amazing tips...

  • Well thanks, RAVENSTAR1973. Of course, I knew it was not fake. And you are welcome.
