PeaceX200:Because the 1960's was the LOVE generation, the 1980's was the "ME" generation.Ya can't recreate perfection, and Woodstock was perfection. The 1980's crowd was probably sipping cocktails, and sitting in lawn chairs(lest they get their pantsuits dirty).
To Salaminguana: Well actually, this performance here wasn't at Woodstock. This here is at Santa Monica Civic Auditorium here in Southern California on Friday, April 18, 1970. This was Joe's "Mad Dogs And Englishmen" tour that lasted from March until May.
MattHatter: I hear ya. People get pissed off when they go looking for Woodstock video's and get video's from other years.I liked Joe's singing at Woodstock, but on this song, the backup singers were some dudes singing in a high tone.Sounds much better with the ladies behind him here in my opinion.
@FREEW0RLD2012: Oh wow. I didn't know you responded to me until just now (5 months later). The whole movie, "Mad Dogs And Englishmen," is AWESOME! Rent it, buy it, Netflix it...do whatever you can to see it. Such an incredible microcosm of the musical brotherhood that went down in the late '60s/early '70s. If you look up the "Cry Me A River" performance, Pamela Polland actually responded to a few people's comments. Pam is at 3:14 on the far left with Donna Washburn, the blond, on the right.

oh really! so you were rocking out at woodstock at 2 years of age, huh!?
of all the annoying parts, that's the most annoying part of the music festival. the amount of lifeless poseur liars who claim to have been there.

Is this from the 'Mad Dogs And Englishmen' tour with Leon Russell? Great performance.

Damn, what a voice he has. Pure Greatness. And the girls, the horn section, the climax at the end, everything awsome about that performance.
