If you haven't fixed the problem just yet. The lag that everyone is refering to, is a matter of keeping the club on plane longer. Do this by keeping the buttend of the club on the target line longer. You will find that you have to do this with the RIGHT hand not the left, as most are saying.
i see this vid is over a year old, so i'm sure you've gotten better by now. however, in this vid, the reason you cast / flip the club is because your head / upper spine is in front of the ball at impact. if you were to keep your lag from that position, you'd miss the ball. you might move the ball forward a bit, but, from the top, just keep your upper body / head back over your right foot a little longer. that's the place to start. Get behind the ball, and stay behind it.
Your swing is actually pretty good. My advice to you, should you decide to take it :-), is to go to the range, take mini swings and hit the ball only with your left arm. So, hit the ball one handed, but make sure its your left. you will find that you cannot hit the ball at all if you try to 'flip' the club with your wrist. this is a common fault. most people intuitively feel that you get the ball up by hitting up, but the opposite is true. instead 'hitting up' like that leads to mishits
Totally hear ya, and know what I *should* be doing - I just can't make my body do that for some reason. Guess I need some kind of drill or help with finding the feel, cause even in a practice swing when I try to maintain lag, I end up releasing early. Been doing it wrong too long I guess.
